        Mainly that means put them further back, claymores have more range than most people think. Talking from a HC-only POV here though, if you're playing quake mode then they're by far not as good.

          • Price, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3Yeah they can be used easily in Domination... Pretty much any defensive position in fact. I think after a while claymore-users (Claymorers?) realise all the good spots to use, it just takes some time.

            One of my faves is on Vacant S&D defending the office room, you can set a claymore in front of the metal gate looking into the corridor which people go through to get to the bombsite. It'll activate and go right through the gate if anyone is curious enough to inspect that area :P

  • slightlygifted, on 04/20/2008, -9/+37half of his kills were either sitting there and just watching his c4 waiting for someone to run over it or throwing it at people he walks up behind he could of just stabbed. the only good use for c4 imo is leavining 2 on a territory in domination and if your halfway across the map and you hear "losing a!" then just blow it up with double tap x from your gun. i think grenade launcher is way more useful cause you can switch back to your gun a lot faster and if you use it close range its a 1 hit kill WITHOUT killing yourself like this guy here does so often. its not like he couldnt of just thrown a grenade in these windows. in fact 3x frag is probably a lot better than c4 for what he does here.

    • Radan, on 04/20/2008, -0/+2While I haven't played COD 4 for a couple of a weeks now, but I thought C4 was pretty handy especially in Domination where you could rig the entrances to the flags with C4 (of course claymores works too, but they are quite easy to notice) and thereby setting up some pretty strong defences. Of course my distinct hate against every single idiot who runs around with 3xnades and throws them around like they were candy, did play a role in my choice.

    It's a lot of fun and gives the game a more strategic feel and makes it less boring for someone who's been playing it since release.
    And yes, it's only good for hardcore S&D, but really that's the only real fun mode to play anyway.

  • reknaps, on 04/20/2008, -0/+15I think this tactic works better on the consoles. You have a little bit more time to throw and detonate a C4 pack while the opponent is trying to get his crosshairs on you compared to a PC.
    If you just want to throw it and camp it that should work either way, but when playing with a mouse and keyboard against even an average player, you dont have nearly enough time to pull out the C4, throw, and detonate... you'd die before getting the throw off.

Camping is OK but only in some circumstances in my opinion, circumstances such as being on the defending side in S&D, defending flags in Domination, defending HQ, etc. basically defending. (Since that's what it generally entails, the whole defending thing, you know) Camping in a corner in TDM though is just stupid and will just get you killed as people know where you are, it also pisses people off.

I didn't know what he was doing at first but by the time it was over I couldn't stop laughing. I laughed for a good 10 minutes at that. I had never seen the smiley face, Dick Tracy style thing before and it was amazing.

        Martyrdom IS for pussies / retards, but I don't go and whine about it ingame. It's insanely unrealistic and should/could easily be fixed but it's part of the game and you just have to accept it. I pretty much never get killed by Martyrdom nades unless there's a huge amount of fire going on so that I can't hear the nade dropping.

          • Price, on 04/21/2008, -1/+1It's basically stating "I can't kill you with my gun so I'll just attempt to kill you automatically when I fail by all other means by using an unrealistic and buggy perk". You get a nade from nowhere, even if you used up all your nades it just appears, with a 2-second timer and instantly activates the moment you die. A similar perk would be last stand, you get a pistol out of nowhere even if you have an overkill setup, the pistol has infinite reloads, you can spin around at the speed of light whilst bleeding to death on the ground, fire a deagle at a speed which would break at least the hands of the user... etc. etc.

            And, like I said, I don't bitch about it. I'm just stating it's retarded and should at least be fixed, or preferably removed. It's a waste of a perk and I don't know wtf IW were thinking when they implemented it.

I don't always get those and sometimes (I don't know why and it's usually when they crouch or go prone) I have my crosshairs on their dome but it doesn't register as a HS. With the R700 or Barrett it will still kill them... well unless they have Juggernaut. Maybe it's lag or hitboxes? I don't usually snipe as I'm too impatient.

I wish that the damn kill cam was only in a theater type mode (that they don't even have) and NOT during game. I have some good spots nobody ever sees me in but because there is instant respawn AND killcam they usually are already back on me shooting me from somewhere I can't see before I can CAP objective etc. I really do hate the kill cam.

      • Cerebral, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2ahhh one of the four things I hate about SOME gametypes in COD4: 1) Instant Respawns 2) Kill Cam (I hate that it gives your position away) 3)Too easy to pin down a team/get pinned down on some maps and 4)The way the game loves to respawn the entire team that just had the headquarters and died on top of, or right next to the next headquarters when it is a full map away from where I currently am AND how if I die trying to get to the HQ or while capturing it I generally get spawned AGAIN, all the way across the map!
        Oh they also need to get rid of cagematch. All it is for is little kiddies can go in there and headshot each other so they can be lvl 6 prestige and suck when it comes time to play a real game. Nobody plays the thing. I waited in a lobby for 15 minutes while every person that connected said "headshots?" and if I didn't respond or say "yes" then they left. Get rid of it.
