- ghostfish, on 10/24/2007, -2/+77Dugg for using the word "permutations".
- Displace, on 10/24/2007, -3/+62Hayabusa (Samurai) looks so out-of-place and impractical
- S4MF1SHER, on 10/11/2007, -1/+54Remember all of you young Halo players, when you're going through permutations, your body may begin to change in different ways...
- stealth45, on 10/24/2007, -4/+44Bad-ass. I gotta get a 360..
- kida101, on 10/24/2007, -2/+41How do you unlock these? By finding the skulls?
- ygrof, on 10/11/2007, -3/+40So, if you use the Mark V, do you get your health back?
- BlueCyclone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+33EVA looks kind of like a Daft Punk helmet... I think I'll go with EVA.
- KingGorilla, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32If anything, only
- Bartboy919, on 10/24/2007, -1/+32All? Seems a bit limited on the Elite.
- moskaudancer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+32Still no Boba Fett, huh? :)
- coolnewperson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+30The Samurai looks like Shredder from the Ninja Turtles.
- Jolos, on 10/10/2007, -8/+33I don't like all the misrepresentation of the word "spartan". I believe it comes from the lack of knowledge of the back story of halo which can only be found out if you read the three books. "Spartans" and the spartan program are children who were taken at a young age and trained at a young age to be warriors. It's all the know eat sleep and breath, it's what they live for. Along with the "Mark" line of battle suits which greatly enhance their abilities they have also had a number of implants. Master Chief aka Spartan 117 aka John is the last surviving member of the program. Who knows whats going on with the program now. Most likely the technology and knowledge is being spread out(not in the same intensity as the spartan program of course) amongst the rank and file solders and ODST(hell jumpers). The Spartan program was probably just a testing bed for all this technology.
god i'm a nerd and will never know the touch of a woman ;_; - spykez, on 10/24/2007, -0/+24Better pictures on the ps3 forums. Oh the irony.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/24/2007, -2/+26***** awesome! ODST and Mark V are my favorites, just because ODSTs are badass and I like the idea of playing the old style armor. Is the samurai one for real? I wonder if the visor HUD changes based on your helmet (since in Halo 3 you can see the visor layout from inside the helmet).
- logicalnoise, on 10/24/2007, -1/+25they are selectable for human players.
- loudintl, on 10/24/2007, -2/+26No, but his cousin Mach can give you a damn good shave.
- JRHodes88, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24I can see every little kid running around with the samurai armor now...
- tylerbrandt, on 10/10/2007, -2/+25the unknown 1 makes master chief looked like a ninja turtle on 'roids.
- Patogrande, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24I'm so glad the Mk V is back! I always thought the Mk VI was kind of clunky; I call it the "H2 factor".
- h4mx0r, on 10/24/2007, -3/+24omgomgomgomgomg
Marathon permutation! - hobonetweaver, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Well, I'll bite... which one's the Ninja? Is it EOB?
Regulator looks like a stormtrooper. - Flashman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20It's fitting, because so are a lot of people on Xbox Live.
- whiskeymb, on 10/24/2007, -2/+20I think he was referring to Halo 3 in general, not just the various armors. However, if he was, then it's still makes a more compelling argument than anything I've seen for the ps3
- Ender008, on 10/24/2007, -2/+19But awesome nonetheless.
- CaptainGirf, on 10/24/2007, -0/+15Ascetic totally looks like a bionicle.
- SinnerChrono, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13virus
- DavronM, on 10/10/2007, -6/+19No.
- Konrad9, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14I think he means Shredder.
- MadTom, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14He's referring to EOB. There was a rough copy of this, that didn't have the correct names. Ninja was replaced with EOB.
- BrewCrew8, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13cant wait for tomorrow night to wait on line.
wait scratch that, why the hell did my accounting teacher decide to have a test Tuesday morning.
why was it not a national holiday!? - MadTom, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14These are all unlocked by Achievements and beating certain levels in the game on different difficulties. I think some might be unlocked by the skulls. You unlock different pieces as you go too, you don't unlock the full set (Body, Helmet, Shoulders) All at the same time.
- iPirate, on 10/15/2007, -1/+13I'm pretty sure that there are a few other living Spartans.
- Krekko, on 10/24/2007, -9/+21Now are all of these available models to players or are they non-player models?
- revansii, on 10/24/2007, -1/+13Better pictures:
http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?p=1974847 - SSCrow, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Its a Nod to Team Ninja, since they used the Spartan in DOA4.
And I agree, it looks way out of place. - wexer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Stop pretending you know what it is. We all know you're full of crap.
- Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Don't be so quick. 117 is not the last remaining Spartan by any measure, it's not the "Mark" armor (it's the MJOLNIR armor), "implants" is a pretty inadequate way to explain why they are the way they are (there was ceramic bone grafting, lots of hormone/steroid injections, direct eye modification, etc.), there is a Spartan III program that this poster apparently doesn't know about (hint: it has nothing to do with ODSTs), and the Spartan program was NOT a testing bed for MJOLNIR technology--it was the other way around--they (the UNSC) were trying to make a new kind of fighting unit to handle human rebellion, piracy, and black markets in the Outer Colonies.
In other words, Jolos knows little. - NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12The "Samurai" one is officially called the Hayabusa. I think it's a way of saying thanks for putting a Spartan in DOA 4.
- NeoCortex, on 10/24/2007, -1/+12Different achievements unlock some pieces. Others are through completing campaign mission or ranking up in ranked play online.
- MrFisty, on 10/24/2007, -1/+12Yeah I reckon Mark V is pretty sweet. If anything it looks more advanced and streamlined than the next model up, the Mark VI. But then again, I thought the Clone Troopers from Star Wars looked better/more advanced than the Storm Troopers, so I may not be a trustworthy source of opinion.
- dvandewalle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11so when i see anyone other than a mark VI coming for me i know they have more time to play the game than me......
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The Samurai is probably achieved by killing X number of players with the sword or something.
- SuperSunny, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13The touch of a woman is quite a thing. Maybe you will.
- NeoCortex, on 10/24/2007, -2/+12So now we go from Red vs. Blue, to the Turtles vs. Shredder (Hayabusa)
- aaron4, on 10/24/2007, -0/+9they left a few out, there are 12 different types of spartan armor and 7 types of elite.
- krypnos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I wouldn't say that. It took me 21 years to get a girlfriend. I'm still the nerdiest individual in my group of friends. Just gotta' meet the girl who understands that you have your own stuff too. Then don't let her go ;)
- piccols8, on 10/24/2007, -2/+11In multi-player also?
- undershirt, on 10/24/2007, -0/+8I think it should be "combinations" instead of "permutations" since the order of arrangement doesn't matter.
