- whatisjeff, on 07/06/2008, -0/+13i support this 100%
- PhantomBPR, on 07/06/2008, -1/+14I made an account here on Digg, not longer than five minutes ago for one purpose and one purpose only. To support this group. If we don't fight for our freedom, we could lose everything that makes YouTube great. This has to stop.

I might not even watch them all. How do you like that, Viacom? Your actions in this case have caused an increase in piracy. Nice one, Viacom.

***** BREIN - eigudttam, on 07/06/2008, -0/+8I agree...thanks for spreading the word...hopefully people realize the ramifications this action by Viacom, if successful without opposition, could have on future actions by Big Business...this would get the "ball" rolling, and after that its simply a snowball effect...
I suggest not only boycotting Viacom and its sister companies, but also pressuring Google to appeal the decision and protect the privacy of its users...(i'm not sure if you can appeal a supreme court decision)... - realweeklynews, on 07/06/2008, -1/+8DIgg made this story popular and then almost immediately removed it completely from the site. What is going on here?
Can someone contact them as to why it was removed from the popular section after only 5 minutes. I am not sure if I am going to bother with this site anymore after this.
Is there a contact person that handles this. If I dont get some decent answers to why this happened, I am done with this site.
If you know someone that handles these things on digg, please ask about how this can happen. - MajinKoenma, on 07/06/2008, -2/+8That video is absolutely correct. How am I supposed to know if a video contains copyrighted material in it unless I actually watch it? I'm not a lawyer, I can't be expected to know all the details of the copyright laws. As of now I am personally boycotting Viacom, and all it's sister companies as well. This has to stop.

You can get here trought YOUTUBE but you cant find it here on DIGG. Im totaly sure that this happens because this video had 100 000 views in one day.
- thatguyjedi, on 07/06/2008, -1/+5Can I digg it, yes I can?
- khyberkitsune, on 07/06/2008, -0/+41. Bill viacom for the use of your resources.
2. If they fail to pay sue them under the DMCA for obtaining copies of your works without your permission
3. Sue the federal government for breach of privacy and sue them under the DMCA for illegal distribution of copyrighted works without copyright holder's permission.
4. PROFIT YOUR ***** ASSES OFF DIGGERS!
Seriously half a million of these lawsuits following that order would destroy Viacom and about half of our government. If you're sick of this *****, I suggest you stand up.. - TheHunter360, on 07/06/2008, -1/+5Its time to fight back against these pigs! for too long we have stood to the side and let them walk all over us. now is the time for us to regain our rights!
- Garsideffxi, on 07/06/2008, -1/+5Great video and I speak for myself and many when I say F*** VIACOM!
Boycott their products, their shows and their movies : Paramount, BET, Comedy Central, LOGO, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, and Dreamworks. They'll soon take notice, we CAN make a difference. - bratterscain, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3It almost feels like it. The dude sounds like Casey Kasem doing the top 40 countdown.
If you're 25+ and your parents listened to the radio a lot growing up, you know what I mean. - gim145, on 07/06/2008, -1/+4Very well done and true !
- chekov1701, on 07/06/2008, -1/+4You have my full support! But you would need more than a handful of people to make a difference to a company like viacom. Spread the word.
- pukiman, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3Dugg (not really) this video, because of the boobage video reply on YouTube.
- ad33lshahid, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2its about time people start getting organized and taking these boycotts seriously, because corporations are only getting bigger and more ruthless, and unless we put them in their place nothing will happen. and by putting them in their place i mean hitting them where it hurts, their pockets.
- SteveBIRK, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2thats the best way to put it ;)
- MasterEdo, on 07/06/2008, -2/+4WTF, this seriously pisses me off. I tried uploading a clip from Family Guy, Peter Shocking Everyone, and it got rejected by FOX within 5 minutes. ***** YOU.
I'm with whoever made this video. We need to start making videos against it pretty fast... - realweeklynews, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2The fact of the matter is it is an invasion of our privacy. They show videos all the time for anti piracy about people who steal a car is the same as downloading a movie. That is hardly an accurate portrayal of stealing vs stealing. They had an anti drug campaign that said basically that if you bought marijuana that you would be supporting terrorists. This is one of the worst I have ever seen in my life.
my analogy was pointing out that a company that we have all paid money for their products is now digging through our personal information, we are their customers too and they seem to be forgetting that. We didnt give them permission. Most of us did nothing wrong. It is the hosts responsibility to deal with this, not its users. Since people only watch and not download, we should be left out of it completely. Your personal history, I.P address, viewing habbits and any other information should not be released to a third party. Only the videos that are confirmed copyright infringing videos should be looked at, not the people who may or may not have watched them.
The whole point is VIACOM is sticking their nose where it doesnt belong, not to mention that major corporations have taken content they didnt create and used it for their own commercial benefit without paying the original creator anything for using it. There have been countless fraudlent copyright claims since VIACOM filed the multi-billion dollar lawsuit. They are totally ignoring the copyright act of 1976. You are allowed to use copyrighted material, but there is no due process to see if there is any merit to any of the questionable copyright claims that have been made. They just delete the video or even worse the entire channel completely. It is a much bigger concept then what is in the video. I just didnt have 3 hours to talk about everything I wanted to in the video.
Thanks for posting, it is nice to see that someone does care enough to debate this. - ss4linkftw, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2I'll boycott these *****, we have a right to our privacy and you can go shove that court ruling up your ass.
- realweeklynews, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2I do hope you are right, but I have seen this thing blow up in peoples faces before. Also, I said, you have shopped there many times before in the mall. Meaning you were walking around there, just like youtube. It may not be the perfect point, but I do stand by it. If they anonymize the user data, that would be ok as long as they dont give any information whatsoever away about the users themselves.
- startanica, on 07/06/2008, -2/+4I donate my full support. Our forefathers founded this country with the strong belief in freedom.
- counterstriker, on 07/06/2008, -1/+3sorry but Mr.Black seems to have it all wrong. Viacom is looking to go after the uploaders of copywrighted content, not the people who watch the copyrighted videos
- cautionwetpaint, on 07/06/2008, -1/+3viacom have to stop trying to squeeze money out of their past and start looking at the future otherwise they will be left behind.
- khyberkitsune, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2Here's how you fight for our freedom.
Sue Viacom and the Govt for violating the DMCA first and foremost. Turn that lobbied law right against their ass.
Then you turn around and gather everyone you can for a class action lawsuit against the government for violating your fourth amendment rights. You file in all 50 state courts. For every person you can get to bring charges against the government, have them press for the maximum - $500,000 for each charge.
Watch how fast this lawsuit turns around when everyones bloodthirsty for government blood and the government has to back down. - KashmirPage, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2I'm sick of huge corporations like Viacom going after the "little guy." I can sort of understand why they wouldn't want people uploading an entire movie, but people who vid and filk mostly do it for fun, the love of the series, and they don't make any money off of it. And hey, it's free publicity!
To make an even bigger impact on Viacom, I'd like to encourage everyone here to get off their butts and contact them by telephone, snail-mail, and their website. I'm posting the information needed below.

- SteveBIRK, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1kinda like 1984 at least there not changing history
- CinSyn, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1This is ridiculous. Viacom is a billion dollar business. Wealthy as hell. They need to infringe on OUR PERSONAL PRIVACY to make more of a profilt? I mean, what is the point? Really? I'm blocking Spike TV. I love CSI, but my personal privacy is more important. Next they are going to be spying in my bedroom window looking at my love life, saying it's public viewing. Then they'll sell it as adult entertainment. Think about it...this judge had to have something in it for himself to rule this way. It's a tragedy. The US constitution has just been rolled up and used as toilet paper.
- nrox653, on 07/06/2008, -1/+2Google's slogan: Don't be evil
Viacom's: Let's be evil for the sake of money - Tophillious, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Well, I can't say what no one else hasn't already so...just imagine a unique and funny comment expressing their dislike for Viacom.
