- sHockz, on 11/26/2007, -1/+133WOW, can you say good reporting?! Glad to see houston has REAL investigative reporters, ones who ask questions and challenge conventional wisdom. I really like how they called them right out on the FAA restrictions they BS'ed about.
- duggtodeath, on 11/26/2007, -10/+93This is what a police state looks like.
- SeethisPass, on 11/26/2007, -4/+73No man is free when he is under surveillance.
While being watched he must maintain an " average" appearance and make no moves whatever that show his individualism on pain of being detained, questioned and or punished. I know that's not what our culture communicates to you but it's the truth. You cannot be free while being under surveillance Your society has tricked you into allowing your freedom to be attacked in this manner. There are no excuses for the general surveillance.of the entire population if that population pretends to maintain it's freedom.
Surveillance.itself cancels freedom. - patricklynch, on 11/26/2007, -4/+69Can someone say skeet shooting practice?
- Glorax, on 11/26/2007, -2/+56Police should not be granted this kind of power. What is this iraq? Are there enemy combatants here that need to be spied on by local law enforcement? Speeding tickets? ***** that
- quaxon, on 11/26/2007, -1/+46seriously, i haven't seen a news report like that on american stations in...well never i don't think. lets hope they don't lose their jobs over this. Plus that anchor woman is a megababe
- CogitatorX, on 11/26/2007, -1/+37Who watches the watchers?
- MasterThief117, on 11/26/2007, -7/+42This violates everything our forefathers have died for.
Again, I ask, when do we fight back? - sheybot, on 11/26/2007, -3/+29who cares. shoot it down anyway.
- thcobbs, on 11/26/2007, -1/+27Well, this was just one city. And if you want to see police state, see the UK
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -0/+25nice going channel 2!!!...........
- RogaDanar, on 11/26/2007, -0/+23Crap...another way to get caught speeding.
- PersonX2, on 11/26/2007, -1/+23As a Houstonian, I've seen this channel's news do countless investigative reports like this, they are awesome.
- mraustin1337, on 11/26/2007, -2/+23Shoot it. This is ***** scary.
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -1/+20yet
- ninjad, on 11/26/2007, -2/+21unmanned drones have been flying around the kent washington area for a while too. mostly in the summer to catch drug labs. it kinda sucks to lose your privacy to a machine
- jasonumd, on 11/26/2007, -1/+20The female news anchor is hot.
- Sharkky, on 11/26/2007, -1/+19Should have started fighting back already....
- digitalhair, on 11/26/2007, -1/+19reminds me of the "eye in the sky" cams from half-life 2
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -2/+18reality TV is on atm. nows not a good time
- Amazetbm, on 11/26/2007, -2/+17Yeah, unless you shoot it down with your own drone.
- PeakAction, on 11/26/2007, -0/+13Good on Channel 2 for a very good report. This is the kind of story that people need to be tuning in to see. Props also to the Channel 2 pilot for staying on target even after the HPD lied and said that the area had an FAA flight restriction in effect. The fact that HPD would lie about that just to keep their tests under wraps is proof enough that they are not planning on using these drones in the most honorable of ways.
- 4degrees, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8how about we all move into the jails/prisons and solve the problem entirely?
- cpcouvillion, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8If there wasn't a flight restriction over the area, was there any notice to area pilots?
One report I saw listed its altitude as 1500 ft. There is enough to look out for up there without adding a 10 ft wingspan UAV to the mix.
Did the FAA approve the flight? It seems like there was a stink when LA tried the same thing a while back. - jmreid, on 11/26/2007, -1/+9I don't know, the Coast Guard?
- crackedlogic, on 11/26/2007, -0/+7the local 2 investigators.
- HerrEisenheim, on 11/26/2007, -6/+13This is exactly what a police state doesn't look like. That is, in a police state, there would be no such report like this, because the state would control the media. You fail.
- mraustin1337, on 11/26/2007, -3/+10*picks up c# pocket reference manual*
This video still reminds me of a police state. Any other suggestions? - eatsushi, on 11/26/2007, -1/+7Now.
- insanebrain, on 11/26/2007, -4/+10dream on. .. the ***** hasn't even hit the fan yet.
- Dhalgren, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6The question is who watches the watcher watchers?
- getatmedigg, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6This past summer the TSA/DHS screened public bus passengers. That's right, passengers on public buses were screened by the TSA without any explanation.
- alperea, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6"Well if you have nothing to hide, what are you worried about?" - says surveillance guy, whacking off to as many nude sunbathing girls as he can.
- adikt, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6Anyone have the link to the latter news report they speak of in the end of that video? The one where they continue the investigation with coverage of a crash of an unmanned drone in another city?
- psyjoniz, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6BS. its the wolf scoping out his prey.
- spyrochaete, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6Thermal imaging was deemed unconstitutional in Canada because it can be used to see the actions of innocent citizens neighbouring the crime scene. Photoradar was terminated as well because unmanned surveillance is also unconstitutional.
Now the cops use CO2 detectors to bust marijuana grow ops. - mraustin1337, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6She is begging for it.
- thehemi, on 11/26/2007, -4/+9So how is this any different than a police helicopter flying around? Do people not think they could install a high powered camera in a helicopter and do the same thing?
- Forklore, on 11/26/2007, -0/+5Sediments are what float to the bottom of a mixture...
- spyd3rweb, on 11/26/2007, -0/+5Im sorry but reasonable privacy is expected even in public places. Privacy from the state especially.
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -1/+6True... but do we REALLY want to let it get that far? I say nip it in the bud.
- louiedog, on 11/26/2007, -1/+6When it's too late?
- zachshmack, on 11/26/2007, -0/+5It's pretty obvious that it's a man with long hair. Did you get a halfy and are trying to rationalize it?
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -2/+7Obviously these guys want to use this technology for our best interests. I'm sure they can't wait to reveal to us how much tax money they can save by using it. That's why it has all been done in secrecy! Am I right or am I right?
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -2/+6Use throw away clothing and a mask. Problem solved...
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -0/+4ya that was a very well put together peice
i didnt notice any intentional double think ***** either
it was investigative and fair, thank you click2houston!
(which is more than i can say for the digg description, more like another way to be illegally spied upon) - OwdenBowden, on 11/26/2007, -1/+5Another government official using the works "Used for terrorism, or for your Safety and Security". This is EXACTLY what our Founding Fathers were fighting for in 1776
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -1/+5To shoot that down you should use a shotgun and heavy bird shot. Just saying...
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -4/+8We appear to be in that gray area. This is what the beginning stages of a police state looks like.
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -0/+4Attach a tazer to the front of that thing and you might have something!
