- blergle, on 02/17/2008, -1/+18Where does it say one side can't get clean water?
- bearsandbulls, on 02/17/2008, -7/+2This has been posted before.
- SuperWinner, on 02/17/2008, -12/+16The problem with poor people is that they keep making more little poor people.
- d3lta, on 02/17/2008, -3/+8The problem with assholes is that they keep making bigger assholes of themselves.
- aliengoods, on 02/17/2008, -3/+6They're poor! The only fun thing they can do is *****. Everything else costs money.
- govsucks, on 02/17/2008, -3/+5How much does a child cost? How much does it cost to have some concern for the life you bring into this world when you can't afford to properly house or feed yourself? You want to see selfish, you found it. Look at the people who would put a innocent child into terrible poverty for a government check or 10 to 30 minutes of personal pleasure.
- waspbr, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1most of the people that live in these slumps have not had any education at all, they don't really know about contraceptive methods or consider costs. A lot of these children tho, end up becoming homeless children, it is a big problem in a big cities in Brazil.

- DarkDx, on 02/17/2008, -17/+4Ron Paul would not have allowed this!!!
- singletrack861, on 02/17/2008, -5/+4Shut up.
- MasterThief117, on 02/17/2008, -5/+2He ***** lost. Get over it.
- aliengoods, on 02/17/2008, -3/+4I read that as irony, because Ron Paul is a constitutionalist and believes people should fend for themselves. Was I wrong?
- coltraning, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1no. you got it perfectly (except i don't agree with this notion that Ron Paul has a monopoly on the constitution). this is why i'm not a libertarian.
- mediaploy, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1its obvious. people dont get it, and probably never will.
- Aeuta, on 02/17/2008, -2/+4Please note all the cars in the "poor" side...can't get drinking water sure...
- Onetrack, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2Its like that in poorer countries.. cars are a status symbol. It doesn't matter if you live in a house with a dirt floor, and that there is a 500% markup on vehicles. If you own a nice car, people respect you.
- shmittay84, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1mmmmmm... I am pretty sure cars are a status symbol EVERYWHERE.

- MasterThief117, on 02/17/2008, -2/+7I would hate to stay in that hotel or whatever the hell it is. Imagine waking up in the morning to look out the window to see those less fortunate.
- aliengoods, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2If you notice they have shrubs on their balconies so they don't have to look at the poor people. Makes them easier to forget and dismiss.
- Gaulven, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2That's a bonus to some people.
- wordglue, on 02/17/2008, -2/+1poor you!
- HenvY, on 02/17/2008, -0/+13Swimming pools on balconies? awesome!

- Wangarang, on 02/17/2008, -0/+5Mirror available?
- etgryphon, on 02/17/2008, -10/+2Buried...for pointless picture. So there are people that have money and people that don't. What is the point of showing this.
- adamchristopher, on 02/17/2008, -1/+3cause its an interesting picture. there are also plenty of pictures of women, yet everyone sweats the mona lisa.

- prophet5, on 02/17/2008, -1/+3Classic "class warfare" image. It must be the fault of those evil rich people!
Poor people make decisions to keep them poor - or else they'd stop being poor.- diadem2, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1not every country gives the oppertunities america does. people forget that.
- Uranium118, on 02/17/2008, -1/+3Is this supposed to make us feel bad? Should we apologize because we were lucky to be born in a rich country? Most of the planet is poor, that how it is and you can't change it. Enjoy your luck instead of feeling miserable.
- asherchang, on 02/17/2008, -1/+0Bad choice in hosting. I don't want to be assaulted by all these useless ads which are making someone money. Buried.
- arkan, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3I lived in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) for a couple of years and I saw stuff like that all the time - its just a different world all together. For example, my first night there I heard some loud explosions and I rolled over in bed and asked my wife what they were and she told me that the drug dealers in the mountains set them off to let the people in the city know that the drugs had gotten there. So me, being a stupid American, asked her why the police didn't just go up there and take care of the situation... She just laughed at me and went back to sleep.
- Christbait, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1It can't cost that much to live in a hotel with a view that bad.
