    Each day, the troop flight at DFW airport is met by a crew of people to welcome them home. The clapping and cheering starts with the group, and begins to roll through the passengers of nearby gates.

    Soon, all but a few are applauding the return of the young men and women... and the times that I have been there waiting for a flight, those few do their best to look inconspicuous - shocked, I am sure, at how small are their numbers.

    I have heard this also occurs elsewhere - Atlanta comes to mind. But I have seen the welcome first hand at DFW - and it made me a bit proud that the vast majority of folks, regardless of the obviously mixed political affiliations of that many people, were recognizing the dangerous job the troops are doing.

    If you don't agree with the war, fight at the ballot box. It takes (in my humble opinion) a pretty low and egocentric person to hassle the kids returning home.

    Here is a little story from ABC about one of the leaders of the welcome home crew. There is a video that shows people at the gates joining in, but I can't find it at the moment.

      back to Dallas with a female soldier on board where the flight attendent announced that we had a very special passenger and the crew wanted to say "thanks" to her. It was very moving and the whole plane cheered for her.
      It is really sad to see how misguided these moonbats are. They are filled with such a vile hatred that it has ruined their humanity.

When I was headed home on R&R, the gentleman in the seat next to mine pulled the flight attendant aside and asked if he could switch seats with someone because he didn't want to sit next to me. Because the plane was full she told him he'd have to sit in his assigned seat, and I got a twisted sense of pleasure knowing that it was irritating him.

    Searching the interwebs turns up ONLY the rightard sites crowing about this, no backing by any legitimate news source. Searching the FTA site does not turn that up.
    It's strange that cowards who would never enlist someone seem to identify with the military and pretend to care about them.
    So the right wing CROWS over crap like this with no evidence it ever happened, but they still pretend the Iraq invasion wasn't based on big lies? Our troops in a meat grinder is fine with the right wing cowards, but cases where someone YELLED at them (not that there is an proof it happened) is worth whining about? Having our troops killed occupying a country that doesn't want us is SUPPORT?

    The saddest part is that the right wing does so much worse than yell.
    They just go for personal attacks on those who REALLY try to help our boys and gals.
    Eh, what can you expect from cowardly warmongers? (That's not so much a personal attack as it is a comment on the actions and words of the right wing element of digg. I'm merely pointing out what I see day to day. Warmongering and cowardice.)

Some anti-war person shouts insults at uniformed military members, you (an anti-war person) shouting insults at people on digg with whom you disagree. Hmmmm, not much difference there, so I don't see how you could even question that these incidents occurred, they happen with great frequency here on digg. And in response to your comments about cowards who would never enlist identifying with the military and "pretending" to care, well I care about those troops and I actually enlisted and served 8 years in the AF, so don't even go there. You have no idea about anyone's service records, so stop with the generalizations. And please, questioning someones integrity or courage because they post anonymously on digg? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black, I don't see your name on your account, mine is, so I have no problems backing up what I say or write in this case. And using your words "courage is posting leftard ***** on digg" real brave Mr. Anonymous. LOL

    Hopefully this did not occur as written. Unfortunately, one has only to visit the various havens of the far left to know the attitude most certainly exists - and have been quoted extensively and verbatim.

    The point remains that they deserve a positive homecoming.
