- nresident, on 10/10/2007, -3/+73haha - the Chaser are brilliant.
Go Terry Wrist ! - EmileVictor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+61I love how hundreds of people are about to digg this thinking that the real Osama has been captured... Not reading the article to find that the guy's part f the Chaser team.
- MokeyAUS, on 10/10/2007, -3/+49They never cease to amaze me. Best thing on TV ever.
Anyway, they did the security teams a service, they wouldn't have known about the fatal flaw in their security where guys dressed as Bin Laden could get had it not been for Chas.
The report by Today Tonight was pure comedy. - DuxDucis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42Mind you they were only stopped at the thrid checkpoint, when Chas stepped out dressed as Osama.
- peterg78, on 10/10/2007, -0/+34funny - last week this statement from the team:
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,22348717-5005941,00.html
"We want to get a working majority arrested and we want to get Chas (Licciardello) shot," he said. "At this stage I think we're on target. "We're hoping at least three of the team will be arrested." i think they got more than they bargained for this time... - sathias, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24The scary thing is that the Howard government has a secret list of people who are banned from the exclusion zone, with a penalty of 6 month jail to those who break it. The Chaser boys were on the list when Chaney visited, they could easily be on this one.
Although I highly doubt they would lock 'em up so close to an election, it would be suicide. - Carbito, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Brilliant! I can't wait till next weeks episode! :)
Some video news reports on it:
http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2007/09/06/reason.apec.comedy.breach.affl http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/ver/237/popup/index.php?cl=3986896
heh, their motorcade looks very realistic - grumpyrain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21The most humorous part is the angry new police minister (and several politicians) stating that it was a success that they were arrested, conveniently forgetting they made it through no fewer than two security checkpoints before getting out of the car in front of the hotel Bush is staying in dressed as Osama. The truth is that they REALLY have egg on their face. Chas has to be one of the most recognisable comedians and they bragged in TV interviews that they would take on APEC security. The checkpoints would have been briefed on these guys.
- Tunguska, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24Fark Aussies own this Digg *****.
- howzitgoin88, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16I agree. I loved anna coren's spiel at the start of the report: "Look what your taxpayer dollars are being spent on..." I personally would prefer that my tax dollars go to them, rather than to line the pockets of the people who supposedly run this country.
- dtele, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17BREAKING - CHAZ has been charged!
- ementis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16For those of you who don't know who the chasers are, you can vodcast any of their previous episodes here:
http://www.abc.net.au/tv/chaser/war/vodcast/ - Dundasbro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Imagine how far they could have gotten if the Chaz dude didn't get out of the car dressed as Osama. They probably could have gotten into the APEC building! This is actually a little worrying given the importance of security at such an event.
- howzitgoin88, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16These guys are the best. The continue to push the limits of television comedy, and they aren't afraid to go places that others are. By far the best comedy show on television, and if the ABC removes it, it will be a travesty. I support these guys wholeheartedly, and, so long as nobody is hurt by their actions, they should be allowed to continue with their program.
- rosepetal1999, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15LOL - last week that did say they were hoping that Chas got shot...

"I'm extremely concerned people would take the sense of security so lightly.''
Uhmm.. evidently we are extremely concerned YOU would take security so lightly, and thus comes in the funny side of it, you, who are the joke sir. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Brilliniant exposition of the pompus windbags in government and their "high security" *****.
I wish we Americans had the good sense to poke holes in the "war of terror" nonsense. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Ah good stuff.
Love ***** with these stupid *****.
Even if it's not legal to air it because of whatever dumb ***** laws exist today, they should just spread it via youtube/p2p - Dundasbro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Try decaf, you're obviously too young to have full strength coffee... Sheesh...
- Tunguska, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Best show on TV.
- Mescaline, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13If I could digg this 20 times I would
- Margh, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Yes because it seems logical that Osama would be trying to sneak into APEC.
- tsmithkc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12All I can say is BRAVO! I can't wait to see the Chaser video. After all this time, the fella was hiding out in Canada. Can't say I blame him. More beer and better hockey than the middle east, as I understand.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Don't forget Al Kyder!
- dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Are you by any chance a fan of 'Hey Dad' ?
- lcarsdeveloper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The Chaser rules, love everything they've ever done since CNNNN! I hope this ends up on the Daily Show, that would be cool to see :)
- Tunguska, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Costello: Never!
- howzitgoin88, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9How brilliant was the look on Costello's face when that was brought out, he was genuinely mortified when it was shown to him!
- neozeed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Another great win for the police state! Good thing that .au is supressed! got to love it!
- VitriolAndAngst, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8"
“While it appears it was a prank, the current APEC security environment isn’t the place to do it in,” said Detective Superintendent Ken McKay, head of the APEC Investigation Squad. “Who they are is irrelevant – they were charged like anyone else who breaks the law.”
"
>> Yeah, this is serious stuff.
So how come you haven't arrested Gonzales for promoting torture, obstruction of justice and perjury? How about Bush -- now that it's out he knew there were no WMDs in Iraq (act surprised -- all the INFO that was confusing them, apparently it came from them), and Cheney with direct War Profiteering and treason -- and of course, the illegal murder of about a Million Iraqis?
YOU let these guys through. Apparently, you don't seem to be looking for Osama -- so anyone in a prestigious limo is OK -- right? You know you work for the upper class and the status quo. No, the arrest doesn't make sense -- these are public roads. If the police wave someone through, then the police sanction it. Or are you claiming he had a false ID that said; "I'm Osama -- Bush's Buddy." - TaLoNxNL, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Love them Australian Chasers, those dudes got balls.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Then it REALLY would have been hilarious.
- xdevit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Security did its job...
Yet they say nothing was done till they saw Chaz get out of the limo which was almost right in front of the building... - protogenxl, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Dammit Beavis, Shut Up.

One of the best shows to come out of Australia. Absolutely loving it. - j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11I dugg you up. He absolutely doesn't deserve security. He should have to face the people wherever he goes, whatever they feel like doing-- and I'm including violence in that as well.
- davids1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8"I don't see a funny side to what's happened today. I don't see a funny side at all,'' Mr Campbell said.
LOL - br0ck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7You linked to the same exact article.
- naffets, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Bloody brilliant. Absolute genius!
- blackandblue, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7brilliant
- Tomgupper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It's citizens like the Chaser that make me proud to be an Australian.
- jlhoben, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Give this guy a medal!
- dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7You actually thought for a moment that Osama visited APEC? Everyone knows Osama has too much fashion sense to be caught in one of those shirts.
- grumpyrain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Does anyone else think this is the elephant in the room the AFP doesn't want to admit to?
- dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Indeed. You do know that Anna Coren is the anti-christ though dont you?
- odintal282, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8the city of Boston salutes the top notch security detail.
never forget... - dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6...and it was a desire so articulately expressed.
- protogenxl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Settle Down Beavis.
- etnlIcarus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The Howard gov't has been committing PR suicide for the last 10 years, I wouldn't put it past them.
