What this means in the big scheme of things, I don't think anybody has a good idea at this point (if ever). Although there may be some thought that Assad isn't as secure in power as his Dad, and this is a sign of political turbulence: I doubt it. He's got an iron grip on the country. What I'd like to know is why he was killed, but the truth on that will be hard to come by.
