More Than 40 Developing Countries Want Nuclear Power Now
washingtonpost.com — At least 40 developing countries from the Persian Gulf region to Latin America have recently approached U.N. officials here to signal interest in starting nuclear power programs, a trend that concerned proliferation experts say could provide the building blocks of nuclear arsenals in some of those nations.

- bincoder, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3I want nuclear power in my backyard now too. Do ya think its going to happen? I also want 20 trillion dollars in gold, a lamborghini, a helicopter, and a nice split level house in New Mexico surrounded by at least 3000 acres of land with my own personal petroleum reserve built underground to store 1 million gallons of gasoline. Almost forgot, a plasma tv would be nice too. Santa, where are you?
- relic180, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1Except that having enough electricity to allow for the basic necessities for thousands of households is a little different than wanting 20 trillion in gold, and Lamborghini and a helicopter. Wait, were you making an actual point or just an unfunny joke?
- StepCousin, on 05/13/2008, -2/+3As the world police it is the USA's duty to control who can or cannot have nukes, considering our civilization is the most evolved on the entire planet.
The United Nations is a gaggle of morons, FFS....might as well ask them how long a 9" dick is.....probably couldn't figure that out.- relic180, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3"considering our civilization is the most evolved on the entire planet"
Are you being serious or sarcastic? I can't fully explain just how wrong you are. But I can tell you that the U.S. is #1 in almost nothing anymore accept military spending and size. Do things like efficient government spending, properly functioning healthcare, scientific community, or average lifespan not figure into your definition of an "evolved civilization"? And before you go and say we have the most evolved society overall, no we don't have that title either. That would best be represented by the "quality of life index" of which (and you sound like a hick, so you may not like it) France currently holds the title in that. Google it.
And for the record, a giant military does not equal world police status, it equals giant dick head sticking its guns into everybody elses business status.- StepCousin, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1"...it equals giant dick head sticking its guns into everybody elses business status."
You seem sexually repressed.
By the way, France sucks....bunch of whiney, effeminate pussies. That giant US military you hate so much will be bailing those losers out again before you know it. Wait and see.
Your definition of an evolved society obviously includes massive government intervention. - StepCousin, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1I just noticed you have a photo of yourself....guess I was correct about the sexual repression :)

- relic180, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1Best solution would be to stop relying on old technology and invent a new, more affordable and more efficient method of power generation. Let these countries develop that instead, and poof, problem solved.
