/awaits death threats - conblex, on 02/13/2008, -5/+179The bombings and the violence are just proving the cartoonists point
- floridiot2, on 02/13/2008, -18/+174He should have drawn him with a 9-year old girl. Would Muslims get offended if you call him a pedophile?
- mogydy, on 02/13/2008, -8/+108I am a Muslim and i can only say that i am very happy these morons were caught before they did even more damage.
You cannot expect "Islamic Laws" to apply to non Muslims!!!
People can draw whatever they want. we are in no position to judge them (especially with all these stupid Islamist terrorists).
Terrorist have their own view of the world, anybody who disagrees can be a target, whether Muslim or not!! - Jimbob200, on 02/13/2008, -6/+84I don't care. Free speech trumps religion. Or it should. He just jerked the reactionary arab world's chain, and they jumped.
- FUNKMASTERNICE, on 02/13/2008, -3/+76As a reaction to the plot most of the big newspapers in Denmark has reprinted the drawings today, to reestablish the discussion regarding freedom of speech. We simply wont let us scare by primitive threats and people.
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -2/+65Looks like they don't understand ours...
- TheOneTrueGod, on 02/13/2008, -10/+71How do you even depict Muhammad without tatooing the name on the forehead? "Don't kill me because I drew Abdullah! Abdullah is an evil person who stole my wallet when I was in Baghdad!"
- JoEBlack982, on 02/13/2008, -18/+77Oooh faux-toughness on the internet. I've never seen that before.
- alex0r, on 02/13/2008, -16/+75Muhammad was L. Ron Hubbard's ancestor.
- doctorfungi, on 02/13/2008, -43/+101Muhammad was a pedophile. Kill me, pussies.
- oobi, on 02/13/2008, -28/+75well i am a Muslim.. and i love Muhammad a big deal. and i did get offended by those drawings, BUT murdering, or even thinking bout murdering, the cartoonist is not really "Islamic" and actually is one of the biggest sins (killing an innocent soul, even if not Muslim)..
- sockpuppets, on 02/13/2008, -5/+51Nevermind that, I just want to know what a newspaper printed on danish tastes like.
- renegadeafk, on 02/13/2008, -7/+51Muhammad is emo
- ryanonfire, on 02/13/2008, -1/+45http://tinyurl.com/pqlvs While they may be sightly offensive, I wouldn't kill people over it.
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -3/+43How can people get so worked up over things like a cartoon. I know they have religious reasons but....jesus..... people need to CHILL the ***** out.
*Hello my name is Dr. Greenthumb* - sk11, on 02/13/2008, -8/+44So he did have sex with a 9 year old girl?
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 02/13/2008, -3/+38Opium causes people to mellow out.
Islam is the PCP mixed with Cyrstal Meth of the masses - theghoul, on 02/13/2008, -6/+41...ok...kill someone for drawing a picture!?!
Is that Islam? - sup3rc0w, on 02/13/2008, -16/+51Who's up for creating an animated GIF of Mohammad being arse raped by a pig.
Or a Pig Bukakke party with Mo' at the centre stage? - TheOther1, on 02/13/2008, -11/+45You could depict him raping 12 year olds....
- poidh, on 02/13/2008, -9/+43Well Zecchetti, here's the deal.
It has always been wrong to have sex with 9 year old girls, because firstly they are not emotionally mature enough and secondly because their bodies have not finished growing and they can be damaged by sex. We know that now. But shouldn't Allah have known that too? I mean, according to Islamic thinking, Allah is all-knowing so he must have known it was wrong for Muhammad to have sex with a nine year old girl. He would also have known that non-Muslims would pounce on this to show that Muhammad was a child-molester/ rapist/ paedophile.
So, from this we can conclude:
1. That Allah exists but is evil because he allowed Muhammad to have sex with a 9 year old girl, which is wrong, or
2. That Allah doesn't exist so he could never tell Muhammad not to have sex with a nine year old girl.
Which one do you choose? - NSResponder, on 02/13/2008, -6/+39"Marriage to a girl of that age was normal for society at that time"
So was slavery, and so were many other morally repugnant practices. Does this make it alright in your view?
-jcr - oxdeltaxo, on 02/13/2008, -0/+33You've gotta love that despite not being of their religion they expect us to follow their rules, this is sadly not the case. Sure if I were in their country I'd obey their laws, but as soon as they step into mine they'd better quickly learn that their rules no longer apply. I don't care if I offend them because the fact that their trying to censor people offends me.
- benkrembs, on 02/13/2008, -6/+38@Zecchetti
What are you smoking? First, girls did not hit puberty at the age of 9.
Second, he actually killed the former husbands of some of his wives. That's an "upright man"? - JAVandiver, on 02/13/2008, -5/+35Are you stating that those in the Middle East are still on the intellectual level as peasants & bedouins circa 600CE? The problem is their culture refuses to allow change.
- mufasa, on 02/13/2008, -2/+31The cartoon on the left, second from the top says "stop stop, we ran out of virgins".
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -7/+36Does chris need to speek with Muhammed again?
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t190/GLC79/Pedo ... - poidh, on 02/13/2008, -9/+37He did indeed. The dirty bastard.
- yelow, on 02/13/2008, -15/+43Stupidity at its finest. Religion is for the weak-minded.
- muuhgnoo, on 02/13/2008, -12/+39Why please should you "love Muhammad a big deal"? You know he murdered hundreds and hundreds of people during his lifetime and forced them to join Islam against their will? What exactly is on him that there is actually to "love"? Are you not aware of the fact that you _most probably_ would not love him so much if you just happened to be born in another country, so your so called "love" is what you were indoctrinated with when you were young?
- stupidStan, on 02/13/2008, -8/+35I will get dugg down, but if you read the words of the Koran, Islam is not a peaceful religion. People may practice it peacefully, but at its root, it demands all non-believers (infidels) die; not bigotted, just the facts.
- Brighton1, on 02/13/2008, -3/+30What do you believe are the core reasons then for Muslims reacting in such a violent way if it is against Islam to murder innocent souls?
- PeterPatriot76, on 02/13/2008, -7/+34Maybe Anonymous will take down Islam next.
Meanwhile I will be eating bacon wrapped in ham and telling my wife she has basic human rights.
Take that Muhammed! - waggdogg, on 02/13/2008, -2/+28When a teacher names a teddy bear muhammad, after a request from her student, the population wanted her dead. They were ready to riot and wanted her not only arrested by put to death. How do you deal with people like this? How can you just leave them along? Must we change the way we live to please them? They must be challenged.
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -7/+33"most girls reached puberty by that age"
-- wow, you really are a sick *****, aren't you? - govsucks, on 02/13/2008, -4/+30Your honor, this was a simple "Religion of peace" action team, nothing more. They only wanted to open a dialog with the artist, and perhaps his jugular.
- borez, on 02/13/2008, -1/+26So... you were gonna go murder a cartoonist? Seriously mate, have a word with yourself.
- Frost9999, on 02/13/2008, -17/+41Religious belief is less common in people with better education. So what should you educate people with if time is short? Scientific method. Then all this religion nonsense will stop being a problem.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 02/13/2008, -2/+24People, change the batteries in you sarcasm detectors.
- tgarza17, on 02/13/2008, -6/+28God = Imaginary friend for grown-ups.

- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -9/+30MAHOMET Is dead by the way Muslims,, how the Hell can a dead raider of Caravans be "OFFENDED" if he has been pushing daisies since the 7th century?
- mufasa, on 02/13/2008, -3/+24I know, it's ridicolous. They burned down the Norwegian Embassy in Syria because a small christian paper printed the danish drawing of muhammad.
- Zippo, on 02/13/2008, -1/+22Pretty sad when you feel the need to murder a cartoonist. I mean, forget rapists, warmongers, sex-slave traffickers... no, some dude who drew a cartoon of Muhammad is the biggest threat.
- loquax, on 02/13/2008, -6/+27Actually, idolatry has a long love-hate relationship with ALL the Abrahamic faiths as they call to mind earlier pagan traditions in the Semitic and ancient Near Eastern cultures. Moses reacted against the Egyptian and Canaanite worship elements (e.g. the Golden Calf). Muhammad reacted against the earlier Arabic pagan traditions (which may have included the worship of the Black Stone at the Kaaba). Christianity has had the most mixed reaction to images as the Hellenization of the religion was very early on (You'll often see pictures of Christ looking like Apollo). Later strains of Protestantism took up the anti-idolatry theme more so than earlier versions of Christianity.
That being said, much more of this is about people vying for personal power by using the issue of the drawings of the Prophet. Additionally, I think the people in the streets are making a stand against Westernization more so than they are offended by a picture of Muhammad. Let's face it, Semitic/Abrahamic traditions (Judaism and Islam in particular) are not well suited to integration. It is one of the reasons why after thousands of years that Jewish identity is still as strong as it is.
This kind of stuff is going to go on for a long time unless the European states work hard at integrating (and to a certain extent undermining) the hard-line Islamic cultures in their states. I'd start by offering help and de-programming (like they do for cults) for people who want out. The second thing I would do is to set up and support moderate Islamic schools of theology and try to introduce some kind of viable reformed view of the Koran that places emphasis on peaceful co-existence, rationality over fanaticism, and new means of seeking justice in a world where not everyone agrees with you. These things were in Islam for hundreds of years and the traditions are there to be rediscovered and popularized.
Finally, we also need to realize that there is a lot that Islam can teach us about our faiths as well. Their trust in and submission to the will of God is admirable. As a Christian who has read some of the Koran, I find things there that are worthy of emulation. Jews, Christians, and Muslims have a lot more in common than they do that separates them. All of them are concerned with justice, mercy, and the ultimate source of all that is good. - Dralha, on 02/13/2008, -8/+28It sure is. Islam is a religion of violence, hatred, and bigotry.
- dalexandruz, on 02/13/2008, -4/+24So it's against islam to associate muhammads name with an image anywhere in the world? but, why are arab, indoeuropeans muslims named muhammad? Aren't these men creating an image of muhammad with their own features? isn't this against islam ( creating an image of muhammad) to have his name associated with a persons body, face?
- lnf69, on 02/13/2008, -9/+29there's a big difference between MAKING an image and WORSHIPING one.
" Jesus would also be against this practice of drawing images or making statues of him ". Then why has it NEVER been part of ANY christian dogma, a prohibition of creating images of christ? - SpaceMonkeyZero, on 02/13/2008, -3/+22Shhh! That logic will get you a one way ticket to a beheading!
I thought the same thing. Shouldn't ANYONE named Muhammed who, say, gets arrested or commits a crime then be marked for death for disparaging Muhammed's name?
And what about spelling it with HAM in the middle? I mean it's a pork product after all. They should riot until the English spelling is changed to MuHALALed or something. -
