- AgeofMastery, on 02/01/2009, -7/+47Of course they're blocking it. Can't have any of that antisemitic truth getting out and contradicting the official Israeli propaganda.
- inactive, on 02/01/2009, -7/+43Dragging the Israeli leadership in front of an international war crimes tribunal would go a long way to preventing this from happening again. The specific war crimes are:
1) collective punishment
2) targeting civilians
3) illegal weapons used against civilians
4) disproportionate response
Also, there are several violations of the USA arms exportation regulations that the perps must be held accountable for. - heystoopid, on 02/01/2009, -4/+32Easy fix really , just borrow or download one segment of one pass of an Earth Resources Survey Satellite just like the one showing the crowd in the Mall in Washington at Obama's Inauguration on January 20 and ther you have it if you compare previous archived images you get a progressive map of the destruction over the 22 days .
- clvngodess, on 02/01/2009, -4/+22It's important to share this with the sleeping west. They don't understand that once the devastation of shelling and shooting stops, the actual devastation itself is not over. It's like with our Katrina disaster. Out of sight, out of mind. And with wars such as this genocide, which is flagged with flagrant propaganda, it is important to SEE the havoc. In the US we don't even get to see our war dead come home. This is crazy.
- bigp3rm, on 02/01/2009, -4/+22And still the world does nothing.

http://whitehouseprotest.org/ - beautifulady, on 02/01/2009, -6/+20This was for YCW, looks like he's been censored! So I am posting it here.
The essential problem is the sick relationship between the US and Israel. If that can be broken, that would put Israel on its knees where it belongs. However, because Israel is the US proxy and henchman in the middle east, it's not going to happen. Essentially, everything Israel does is either with the consent of the US or at its direction.
The Zionist propaganda machine is very, very strong and operates worldwide. However....I am beginning to see cracks. Inshallah, the cracks will allow some light into this darkness. The suffering of the Palestinian people is the driving force in this change, ironically. It looks like Israel might have dug its own grave this time around; you don't fight puny Qassam rockets with white phosphorus, F16's and tank fire on kids and old people and expect people to sympathise with you. All the old arguments Israel uses, from anti-Semitism to being scared of the big, bad Arabs all around it, don't hold water when you have the world's fourth largest army and more than 200 nuclear warheads at your disposal. It is a bit more difficult to get the world's sympathy once you expose yourself as a liar and a fake, and this is what Israel has done. As it has been said, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people, all the time. - MercyPolitics, on 02/01/2009, -5/+18Well said, YCW,too bad I can't digg you comment 20 times
.Israel is behaving like a rogue state and punishing the Palestinians in the same fashion their ancestors were locked in the hell of the Warsaw Ghetto by the Nazis.People less informed than we are don't even realized that the blockade was going on for months before the attack. The Palestinians were starving even before the attack. - kemp34, on 02/01/2009, -4/+17Raw sewage was pouring in the streets because there was no power for the sewage systems.
- ghostoftomjoad, on 02/01/2009, -1/+14theres nothing anti-semitic about saying that the Israeli government is ***** up
- inactive, on 02/01/2009, -2/+15The whole recurring horror that is the Palestine/Israel just confounds me and hurts my heart. In my mind it a situation of victims victimizing others over and over and over again. It's extremely upsetting and this latest chapter is just about the worst of my lifetime, with perhaps the exception of the seven day war (a little after the time of my birth).
I'm continually astonished at how people on these comment threads can have such clear cut and strong, almost violent opinons. These are real people on both sides, not avatars in a video game. - inactive, on 02/01/2009, -1/+12Well the security council at the UN cant do anything. All it takes is one member to vote against a measure to ***** the entire motion. The USA has been doing this.... for DECADES.
All you need to do is isolate Israel the same way they isolate Gaza and West Bank and you'll have your peaceful solution fast. Why? Because their Arab states may decide to take advantage of this, in a very bad way. So in order to void out any reason to invade Israel, a return to 1967 boarders and the right of return for refugees (to either Gaza or Wast Bank territories) may need to happen.
Its either that or let Israel nuke the entire region & install a fascist apartheid. - inactive, on 02/01/2009, -4/+14YCW is my friend and is a dedicated champion of peace and justice. He works his ass off for justice.
Fare well brother - justsenditasap, on 02/01/2009, -3/+12Doom777 - Israel is not a 'foreign country' - it is the illegal occupier of these people's lands and is imposing an illegal blockade. And Israel did its best to butcher as many Palestinians as possible.
- smallvern, on 02/01/2009, -5/+14troll
- ciaran036, on 02/01/2009, -5/+13Hamas did not killed 1300 people, unlike Israel.
- inactive, on 02/01/2009, -2/+10Dude, step away from victimhood. Take a seat and look at the situation from a non-Israeli viewpoint. Get out of yourself for once and look at what has transpired through the eyes of the Palestinians.
That will require that you admit that they are human. - inactive, on 02/01/2009, -0/+8Well the Jewish invasion, conquest and occupation of Palestine continues.
- inactive, on 02/02/2009, -0/+7All funded by the Amerikan taxpaying dollar
We can pretend all we want - richmomz, on 02/01/2009, -0/+7I think you missed his sarcasm; that's the whole point.
- inactive, on 02/01/2009, -4/+10Try it. I'll bet that they won't let you buy those images.
- ghostoftomjoad, on 02/01/2009, -3/+9if you believe that that is what happened then you have only listened to propaganda and not done any research. Israel broke the ceasefire after 3 months of peace between Hamas and the IDF. this prompted the predictable response from hamas, which, while not moral in any way, wasn't unprovoked and was, in all honesty, the only response they have. And regardless of how you feel about the rockets, there is no "they" that are guilty. only hamas. the Palestinian people are being terrorized by the 4th largest military in the world--do you feel as though every bad decision made by your government should be paid for you your blood? your family's?
- justsenditasap, on 02/01/2009, -5/+11@dkapuchino
The truth can't be repeated enough - especially when cynical manipulators like you are determined to bury it. - inactive, on 02/01/2009, -4/+8Really? So a few rockets get fired into Israel and your fine with invasion that could kill lead to the deaths of another 1,300 people?
- richmomz, on 02/01/2009, -1/+5That is what SHOULD happen but unfortunately I doubt that it will - the fear of being branded as an 'anti-semite' for speaking out against Israel is still too strong for anyone with authority to do anything though the UN.
- Renton, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4No, no, it's completely anti-semitic. See, http://i44.tinypic.com/2cghhlg.jpg

*spit* - COINTELPROAgent, on 02/01/2009, -11/+4He puts on a protest show for tourists and lives off of the spare change. He also has schizoid tendencies and should be locked up before he harms someone.
- dkapuchino, on 02/01/2009, -12/+4Actually, you can. He's posted that comment 20 times.
I wanted to prove it by linking to his other comments, but whenever I try and open his user profile, I get an error. Weird. - doom777, on 02/01/2009, -12/+3Put Israel on its knees where it belongs.
Spanish state doesn't belong on its knees
Portugese state doesn't belong on its knees.
Chinese state doesn't belong on its knees.
Canadian state doesn't belong on its knees.
Arab states don't belong on its knees.
Jewish state belongs on its knees.
Nope, no antisemitism here. Just pure facts. - doom777, on 02/01/2009, -12/+2They would if they could.
- doom777, on 02/01/2009, -14/+3Yes. Artillery shelling a foreign country demands a military response, no matter how ineffective the shells are.
Gaza did it's best to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible. Israel did its best to perserve the life of as many Gazans as possible. - dkapuchino, on 02/01/2009, -27/+8Two weeks after the war, and life isn't back to normal yet?
Well, shucks, perhaps they shouldn't start wars then.
Perhaps the whole "lets fire rockets into Israel, kill some people, and wait till the beast attacks back", is suddenly a bad idea, now that we don't have our "heal really quickly spell".
Eitherway, buried as *****.
Anyone can purchase satellite imagery of Gaza. Actually flying a reconnaissance plane over Israel, something Israel has every right to refuse, isn't the only way to asses damage. Also buried for the title. The article is named "Life in Gaza is not 'back to normal'". And the entire description is misquoted. Its not what the reporter has to say, its the reporter quoting "Western civilians". - NoLibertarians, on 02/01/2009, -25/+4A nightmare created by Hamas..Prepare for another nightmare as Israel is about to respond to the latest ceasefire violation from Hamas.
