Freedom-snatching Commie-Commissions
worldnetdaily.com — Thought police and the internet. In Canada, the federal human rights commission is investigating a conservative discussion website, freedominion.ca , for allegedly spreading hate speech. The Canadian Human Rights Commission reportedly has a staggering 100% accusation/conviction rate.

- ccso8462, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Our government is trying to sneak in the same thing here with "hate crimes" legislation. I agree with alanhlake: Thanks, Joseph!
- als1958, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The other real irony in the Canadian situation: The Human Rights Commissions will only consider compalints by groups that have historically been "discriminated against." That means that social conservatives and Evangelical Christians "need not apply" for relief, and the secularists are free to say and do practically anything to them with no possibility of legal recrimination..
- speekfreescott, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Debate is illegal in Canada. Perhaps its time we sue the Human Rights commissions for stripping my freedom to speak freely.
- Swannie52, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Tristan Emmanuel tells it exactly like it is. Free Speech and the investigation of why we don't actually enjoy it-unless it is that of the radical and liberal left-is non-existent in Canada. We, in the Fathers and Men's Rights movement, can testify to that. Right in front of the disbelieving and indifferent eyes of the Canadian population, the mainstream media and most politicians Canada has become a tyranny. And it happened long before Canada's "new government" came to take the wheel of the 'ship of state'. Tristan Emmanuel is probably being too kind in comparing the commissions to former organs of the Soviet State. The comparisons we can make are are of a far more sinister and evil nature.

Fathers and Men's Rights Activist - Taquoshi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Regretably, our country isn't far behind. Our local Human Rights Commission called for the firing of a Department head based on an incident that happened before he was in office, that was recorded on a videotape that no one has seen, except supposedly by a reporter , and without investigation. Now all the City employees have to attend racial sensitivity training even though no overt racism was found after investigation by an outside agency.
- hitchfan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Right on and WRITE ON Tristan! The Canadian Gov't is selectively blind when it comes to the abuses of the laws of the land by groups it is either in bed with or afraid of.
- henrysca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Tristan hit the button on the head! From all I read in the papers,
those on the witch hunt should go after all the haters and bullys
who write against the good Christian folk! Perhaps we should flood the
Commissions with our complaints!
