Just make sure that you don't like to watch: BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Spike TV, TV Land, Paramount Pictures or Dreamworks Studios. Oh and you also can't play Rock Band (Harmonix).

Conglomerates ROCK!! - rebostorm19, on 07/04/2008, -6/+133this is a violation of our human rights and should be against our privacy laws. ***** Viacom the bastards that stole my ID

- Unterland, on 07/05/2008, -2/+93'''Philippe Dauman''' is the CEO of [[Viacom]]. He has served at this post since September of 2006. Dauman is a longtime associate of the company's chairman [[Sumner Redstone]]. Dauman served from 1994 to 2000 as a member of Viacom's executive committee and as executive vice president in charge of strategic transactions, legal and government affairs, human resources and administration, supervising [[Paramount Pictures]] Entertainment, [[Showtime]] Networks and [[Simon & Schuster]]. Dauman was also a director at Redstone-owned [[CBS Corporation]] until September 2006.
From 1993 to 1998, he also was Viacom's general counsel. AND HES A PIECE OF CRAP.

Doesn't anyone remember the writer's strike? They were striking for compensation for internet released videos. Companies like Viacom were against paying writers for internet material dubbed simply as "promotional." Now they want sue Google for lost revenue of online video clips?? Oh the irony of it all.

- sonycam, on 07/05/2008, -1/+44Normally I don't agree with posting people's personal information up, but they can't really complain about invasion of privacy can they now?
- ren1999, on 07/05/2008, -0/+39They are also trying to steal Google's Search Engine Trade Secrets. They asked for that code even though it isn't a part of the suit. I think they should be investigated.
- NNOP, on 07/05/2008, -2/+32Boycott The Colbert Report and The Daily Show..?
... I'm conflicted - banmaster, on 07/05/2008, -7/+34How is it against your human rights??
No fan of Viacom myself, but 'human rights'?? You're ***** stupid! - Pinkshisno, on 07/05/2008, -0/+19Just watch them illegally.
- chrisvc86, on 07/05/2008, -1/+19Go kill yourself Viacom. ***** piece of hypocritical *****.
Also, take Unterland's advice and make these people responsible know that you don't ***** with the internet and people's privacy, which they're just going to use to as marketing research anyway to further sell you more *****. - KMartSheriff, on 07/05/2008, -1/+19You spelled ***** wrong.

http://www.viacom.com/Contact/Pages/default.aspx - SQLserver, on 07/05/2008, -1/+18MORON.
This has NOTHING TO DO WITH SOCIALISM.
This is the same old Conservative 'Big Coporations are your best pals!' thinking that ends up with corporations like Viacom screwing everyone over. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -0/+17lol...bitch wands
- Snoopy92, on 07/04/2008, -1/+18Just another way for the government to monitor everything we do, ridiculous. Even more so because VIACOM have...no...idea what they're doing. So if they're going to watch everything we do, Go ***** yourself Viacom.
- Jennefah, on 07/05/2008, -0/+16I used to work for a cinema owned by Viacom. These guys will skim off the top to save money every chance they get, ESPECIALLY where it comes down to actually serving decent entertainment and food at their cinemas.
So yeah, ***** VIACOM.
Also, don't eat their popcorn. That ***** ain't butter. - ChefEspeff, on 07/05/2008, -7/+22One Dane Cook made me want to kill myself. Now two, just...ugh.
- adhiza, on 07/05/2008, -0/+14its actually black, you're probably viewing it from above on an LCD screen.
- elnerdo, on 07/05/2008, -1/+14To add a contrary voice to this conversation:
1. Some of this is Google's fault. A while back, they anonymized their web searches in order to prevent something like this from happening. However, they continued to log user-identifiable information for their other services (like YouTube)
2. While Google has been ordered to give up the information, they haven't actually given it up yet, as far as I know, and they plan on fighting the decision further.
3. We/Google should've been able to see a decision like this coming. Google's standard argument regarding copyright infringement on YouTube is that copyright-holding companies can browse through YouTube and request that things be removed. It should've been obvious that the counter-argument to that would be: "It's too hard to browse through all of that information online, and besides, how will this help us prosecute the violators? We demand that you give us all of the information!"
4. Yes Viacom is evil, and it sucks, but the person you should be really angry at is the Judge who ordered this. He's the moron here. - elislider, on 07/05/2008, -1/+14am i the only one who couldnt focus on the video at all because i was confused why he said it was "wednesday july 4th" right at the start? uhh isnt it friday..?
- biggerapple3am, on 07/05/2008, -0/+12I KILL SUBTLETY!!!
- djepik, on 07/05/2008, -0/+12This is like getting mugged on a London street and demanding all video footage from all London surveillance cameras ever.
- dn11, on 07/05/2008, -6/+17i agree that Viacom needs to die in a fire, but everyone seems to be forgetting that Google already has all of that said data on you and they are allowed to use it however they want... why aren't more people afraid of that? (because... google told us they aren't evil..)
- DigitAl56K, on 07/05/2008, -1/+12Why the F can't Google just be allowed to hand over all the data for Viacom's claimed clips only, after removing personal information?
- rentmitchum, on 07/05/2008, -2/+13Extremely irritating. "Hi, I'm youtube guy, I talk through my nose and sound sorta like someone is sitting on my chest or I'm straining to push out a *****."
It works better when you can hear me imitate it.. - aphexcoil, on 07/05/2008, -0/+11I hope Google complies with the judge's order by delivering printouts to Viacom's headquarters.
Viacom: "Sir, there are 47 dumptrucks out front filled with paper. What's going on?"
Google: "You wanted the logs, here they are!" - jstem1994, on 07/05/2008, -2/+12Except for Comedy Central, I'm good w/ this list.
- ayeroxor, on 07/05/2008, -1/+10Why would you say "***** you" to someone that likes socialism? America, like all western countries, enjoys a great deal of socialism:
* public schools
* police departments
* fire departments
* hospitals are required by law to perform life-saving procedures even if you can't pay
* transportation departments
* public libraries
etc etc. If you're so sure you don't like socialism, you better not ever take advantage of any of the above services, or you're just another ***** hypocrite. - idastheman, on 07/05/2008, -1/+10"Although Google has been ordered to hand over YouTube data to Viacom, it has emerged that a protective order has been issued and only the media giant’s lawyers can access the data to prove piracy."
- dcd722, on 07/05/2008, -2/+11Can we post this on every Youtube comment page?
- evoair95, on 07/05/2008, -8/+16socialism FTW
- SQLserver, on 07/05/2008, -1/+9Except half of youtube is idiotic 9-16 year olds, mostly American idiots(not that all americans are idiots), who don't even know what the big word 'censorship' means, and are 'votin' for McCain cause Obama is an Islam'.
- HtomSirveaux, on 07/05/2008, -0/+7I think what is not considered by banmaster and bdurkin is that this is a violation of the right to privacy regardless of how Viacom intends to use the account info. Furthermore, as De Franco stated, this is either a Neocon-activist judge or just a dumb ass in a black robe setting a precedent that any entity concerned with their intellectual property not making the maximum amount of profit possible can sue to get every user's otherwise private information just so they can see how much of it is being "stolen."
Think of this case in pre-internet terms. A group of authors hates the fact that one person can checkout their books from the local library and show it to as many people as they can. They sue because that extra few bucks is not being made and in the process can find out everyone's personal information, address, reading habits, what they've been searching for in the catalog, frequency of checkout, and so on.
I'm amazed that a judge, who has infinitely more knowledge of the law than I do, ruled in favor of Viacom on this part and gave one company all of our information which was guaranteed by Youtube.com to be kept private. Now NBC can do the same, Clear Channel, the MPAA, the RIAA, etc. and even a possible civil suit against Youtube.com for violating their privacy contract wouldn't surprise me.
The fact that some people are brushing this off as no big deal is quite sad and shameful.
Please, quit giving this country to corporations. They are not citizens. They do not have individual rights. They have no primordial ethics or morals. Their only concern is money and liability. Keep them on a tight leash.
Don't let them get away with this. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -0/+7VIACOM = banned for life

I'm tired of your overpriced chalupas! - beautifulbeast, on 07/05/2008, -0/+6About a boycott to Viacom: I just looked their entry up in Wikipedia and they seem to own absolutely everything in the entertainment industry including Nickelodeon and MTV but also some of my favorite wb sites like GameTrailers and ScrewAttack. I'm scared.

- Gene04, on 07/05/2008, -0/+5I just watch it in full on their own website. They don't get any revenue from me because of the almighty adblock that everyone flaunts about.
- brandonha, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5wow Yeah because thats original. We wouldn't have noticed your cleverness if you didn't capitalize it. Douche.
- NNOP, on 07/05/2008, -2/+7Yeah, actually if Google deleted all that data as soon as it came in it wouldn't be a problem.
