Exclusive: Security Report Challenges Views on UK Terrorism

guardian.co.uk — MI5 has concluded that there is no easy way to identify those who become involved in terrorism in Britain, according to a classified internal research document on radicalisation seen by the Guardian. The sophisticated analysis, based on hundreds of case studies by the security service, says there is no single pathway to violent extremism.

  • 3rdDay, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2A fascinating story. MI5 appear to be making a link between a void in the terrorists personal lives and their activities. The finding that many of them are religiously naive is a surprise; religious identity appears to be more essential than observance.
