- Karlsvogna, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Cancel Digiturk, use TT Cable, what's the difference?
It's interesting; both companies use the same tactics; ban internationally known popular websites. E.g. youtube & blogger.
We need more "democratic" companies in IT/Technology areas who gives "freedom" to people and stop messing with Internet.
This action of they did, explains only one thing; they afraid to lose their market and surely money.
They already know that, they can't compete with another companies in this section who gives better service for less money.
So? They insult to internet, to their own users and their ethics (business ethics?).
A big protest need like thousands of people cancel their Digiturk & TT Net account for a time.
Actually the best time to do these is the time when they say; "No Money to Sign Up for Digiturk/TTNET etc."
Anyone disagrees? - Spartz, on 10/26/2008, -0/+0I agree with you, Karlsvogna. I'm a foreigner living in Turkey, but it appears the only thing something can be achieved here is by protesting these actions like this.
Except, it might not get the courts to overturn their decision of banning Blogger.
Maybe the Turkish people/internet users should call for a special court to deal with internet matters, with judges that are actually qualified and knowledgeable enough to speak about things concerning the internet. Whoever banned all of Blogger over just a few pages clearly doesn't know what they're doing. - ilkerender, on 10/26/2008, -0/+0I absolutely disagree .
It has nothing to do with companies . If you are a company creating revenue from multimedia , it's your very right to pursue those who steal your programs and publish them on the internet for free . That's completely fair game in terms of legality & democracy.
What is wrong here is that , execution of the justice . We need more granularity. The laws should change to accommodate a better understanding of how internet works and how to stop illegal money making websites , rather than the whole domain .
The problem is not some website doing illegal work getting shut down , it's done everywhere in the world. The problem is shutting down the whole domain , where that website belongs to , which in this case is blogger.
only better laws will fix this . else there will always be companies rightfully suing other companies & people. - Teltel, on 10/26/2008, -0/+0god damned digiturk!
cancel my digiturk account! now!!!!! - Teltel, on 10/26/2008, -1/+0The company, digiturk, was aware that the court would suspend all of the content from blogger. And it was a piece of external embed code caused this whole trouble. So it was not related with blogger actually. But digiturk, instead of acting with common sense, tried to block whole bloggers. if you do think this is a fair company behaviour, i will think your an infant who grow up with digiturk's lies.
