- aerostar, on 06/12/2008, -2/+30Apostle Paul's prophecy (II Tim. 3: 1, 2, 3, & 13) is coming true in our very own lifetime and hour... "...in the last days perilous times shall come... (v1) "for men shall be... without natural affection... (v 2 & 3) "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse..." (v. 13). (See also v 12, "...all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.")
It is truly tragic to see how the forces of evil have perverted the judgment of the (formerly decent) majority... so that NOW, judges, governors, & legislators are excusing, accepting & even APPROVING of sodomy. But God's promises WILL be fulfilled, regardless. The time of our redemption is surely drawing nigh...! - fwelch, on 06/12/2008, -4/+32What happened to free speech
- jfm777, on 06/12/2008, -2/+27 As usual, the Democrats, in the name of "freedom", have outlawed the first amendment. Are we gonna just take this? This ass needs to be INSTANTLY carried OUT of his office doors and barred from the state (or the USA).
What part of this law is constitutional?
IN CHINA THEY HAVE THE EXACT SAME LAW THAT THIS IS HEADED FOR... 'NO PREACHING OUTSIDE A GOVERNMENT ACCEPTED 'CHURCH'.'
It seems Colorado, and most other states are AGAINST freedom... period. (unless 'the government' grants it). This is what our founders warned us against, and we keep letting the hole get deeper.. We have failed to protect our constitution from the communist invasion, especially since 1990, when "political correctness", etc. (which we thought would never stick) started. - DrJen, on 06/12/2008, -4/+21What happened to the Bill of Rights and our Constitution?
The Right to Freedom of Religion is in our Constitution to protect religious beliefs that are not in the majority.
The Right to Free Speech is in our Constitution to protect speech that most people dislike.
This is not about the rights of homosexuals. It is about our rights as U.S. citizens. - lolwell, on 06/12/2008, -3/+20Yea, I may not be a fan of fire and brimstone preaching, but Freedom of Speech....
- jfm777, on 06/12/2008, -4/+20It is being taken from us and we are doing nothing!
- yukester12, on 06/12/2008, -2/+17I live in rural Colorado and am so disgusted by this horrible, evil governor bill ritter and all his democratic drones. They are destroying our country
- soofan, on 06/12/2008, -1/+16Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
What part of this does Colorado not understand. Without a moral standard, there can be no law or liberty. Just because you don't agree with God's word doesn't make it wrong nor does it make your behavior right. - DrReaper, on 06/12/2008, -2/+16The government is abandoning it's neutral position. It is now taking a proactive position in favor of one class of people over another. If that doesn't go against everything America stands for nothing does. It's time to start impeaching judges and politicans. Boycotts are also a good idea. They will continue to ignore everyone until we get organized.
- PappyPapillon, on 06/12/2008, -2/+15Very well said, Aerostar.
- vpats, on 06/12/2008, -0/+13As the article stated, this law is untested, I believe it soon will be, and I don’t believe it will pass the First Amendment’s intent.
However, this law absolutely amazes me. This law shows the complete lack of common sense in Colorado, its law makers .. and it’s Governor. This law shows the crap legislation that comes to the people when an issue is fought over by two extremes.
The citizens of Colorado should give serious consideration to giving its State House an enema and toss the Governor at the next opportunity. There are very serious issues in each and every State that need to be dealt with, this ain’t one of them. - oceanrain, on 06/12/2008, -1/+14Just disgusting to see our rights and freedoms being stripped away.
- Christianptriot, on 06/12/2008, -1/+14So pedophiles can use the women's room to scope out young girls they want to assault - wihtout being confronted.
Gays and others who promote that lifestyle can openly flaunt and parade their beliefs in public.
But Christians can do NOTHING to speak out against what we believe to be illegal, immoral and wrong because someone might get offended or hurt.
America has only a few years left, as a nation, I'm afraid before it is completely unrecognizable as the Judeo-Christian nation that is was founded to be. - DrJen, on 06/12/2008, -2/+14Wasn't it more like we HOPED that the PC garbage wouldn't stick?
As a child I remember sitting in class listening to the teacher tell us about the Soviet Union. You weren't allowed to pray at school, wear a Star of David or a Cross, talk about G-d in public... It sounded so terrible that I would say a quiet prayer of thanks that it wasn't like that here and that it never would be. I was afraid of it coming here.
Then, you grow up and think perhaps you can vote and keep our freedoms safe. Now it seems there is no one to vote for who is willing to keep our freedoms safe (i.e., no one who honestly has a chance at winning). I'm back to square one. - jfm777, on 06/12/2008, -1/+13PS; make sure you 'digg' AFTER you log in if it asks you to login after clicking 'digg it'.
It seems when you click 'digg', it doesn't add your digg if you have to login. make sure it says "dugg" - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+11Please know that you are far from being alone! Many of us, perhaps the remnant of the former "silent majority", feel the same way.
- lookingforHim, on 06/12/2008, -2/+12AMEN!
- chickenbig, on 06/12/2008, -2/+12So if I drive through Colorado with an "Authentic Marriage - One Man, One Woman" sticker on my car, I am going to get arrested? I might just have to try that and see what happens.
- 10QGZus, on 06/12/2008, -2/+11So if my husband teaches a Bible study in Colorado based on Romans chapter 1, he can be arrested? But if a homosexual group has a parade that depicts all kinds of sexual perversions (have you ever seen the parades in San Francisco and New Orleans???), that is protected by free speech.
I thought Arnold was bad for California.....Ritter is an idiot! - PrincipledAmer, on 06/12/2008, -2/+11This is just another attempt to promote homosexuality by "normalizing" it in public places through law and anyone who disagrees with these folks are labeled as an adversary.
By legally redefining tolerance, these activists can persecute almost anyone they choose, namely, traditional religious conservatives who believe in the sanctity of marriage & family.
While claiming to be victims of a heartless society, they have intimidated cities, schools, and even McDonald's into accepting their scheme.
In the name of tolerance & diversity, our children are being taught in public schools that homosexuality is biologically normal, but parents consider this . . . homosexuals do not reproduce---they recruit. Keep a protective eye on your kids--especially in Colorado. - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+10I am very afraid at this point because these rogue judges and lawmakers (law-breakers in reality) are knowingly breaking the law by totally ignoring the Constitution. The law makers will not obey nor enforce the Constitution which is the law of the land. So it does not matter if people protest this by writing and calling their elected worthless Representatives because it will fall on deaf ears. This is what occurred in the old Soviet Union - you were just ignored and the lawmakers (thugs) did what they wanted to do. So in other words the only way to kill the cancer is remember Patrick Henry's famous words:
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright FORCE [that means war]: Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined." - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -3/+11Colorado is now mostly full of ex Californians. And they have brought their political ideals and immoral way to the interior west. And as long as California real estate prices and illegal immigration continue to climb, there will be more coming.
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -4/+12Colorado has head up @$$...
- Navigator7, on 06/12/2008, -7/+15Copied: "I have a hard time believing (it myself)," said Enyart. He said he expects the law to be only "lightly" enforced until "it just becomes an entrenched part of our legal framework. They're not going to go out and arrest somebody for selling a Bible at Barnes and Noble."
I expect the law to become "entrenched" by weeks end!
Can somebody explain why Liberalism is consistently on the wrong side of right?
Liberalism in America is attacking the critical mental capacity of millions of Americans. I offer this "Liberal" phenomenon is a greater threat to American way of life than the Cold War!
God, I miss the cold war.
http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=56494 - ROaks, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7vpats, explain to me what you mean by"This law shows the crap legislation that comes to the people when an issue is fought over by TWO EXTREMES". what are the two extremes to which you refer? If you are referring to one side, the Christians standing for what is right and decent, how is that extreme.
I keep hearing about the extreme right, no one has explained to me what or who the extreme right is. Since when has standing for what is right, decent, and for the things of God extreme.
Also you say "there are very serious issues in each and every state that need to be dealt with, this ain't one of them". Do you really mean that? This issue and every other issue that stands or in contrary to the Word of God is serious and I will go so far as to say these issues are why we have the other issues you think are far more important. My belief is, if your morals/values are right then everything else will fall into place. That doesn't mean we will not have some problems, it does mean we will be able to handle them better, than we handle all our problems now. When you live as much as humanly possible according to the God of the Bible will you will know peace, You will be able to handle the rough spots that come into everyone life a lot easier. God never promised us a rose garden, He did promise us a anchor in the storms of life. So this issue is a very important issue and demands action by the decent people of Colorado to change it before it can even began to do the damage is sure to come. - lolwell, on 06/13/2008, -0/+7I haven't been around long enough to have my agenda yet, I'm seventeen. I just know the basics of what keeps this country somewhat good, and free speech is one.
- Wordsmytheist, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7It is downright creepy at times. I'm probably preaching to the choir here but still, we should resist with passion. As Christians, one of our gravest mistakes is to assume we are in the End Times and, therefore, it is futile to change our course.
Many more signs are yet to come ... I think it will be pretty clear when those days begin. We may be close yet these things characteristic of the end times are often characteristic of decadent times in general. Got to be careful to exercise good judgment on those issues. - KCLorelei39, on 06/12/2008, -2/+9The resolution to the moral conflict between sexual freedom and religious freedom is upon us. Is anyone really surprised at this development?
"and the love of many will wax cold..."
Forgive 'em Lord, they know not what they do.
Will the church be able to love our enemies? Pray for them that hate us and mistreat us? Be the glimmer of light in the darkness that swallows so many whole, body and soul?
Follow Jesus, even unto death? America is about to be refined, family. Look to Him who strengthens us, and remember where your hope lies. - jesusis1, on 06/12/2008, -1/+7Hey California! The flood gates are wide open in Colorado! They are waiting for you.
- Harvester1, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6LOL! Thanks. Couldn't have said it better.
- deadeye8, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6Before you read my reply understand that I am fully against this law and the intrusion of the government in this matter. Now, as far as freedom of speech goes, the US constitution doesn't guarantee freedom of speech (go holler bomb in an airport and see what happens). What it guarantees is that you can speak out against the government without the government having any recourse. The first amendment reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Remember, the Constitution sets up the government and then sets limits in place for that government. Therefore, everything in the Constitution is made with respect to the government. That's why there's no provisions in the constitution for murder and rape. Although they are against the law, the constitution is no place for them.
With all of that in mind, Congress isn't limiting your speech against the government (there may be "other than heterosexual people" in the government but your issue isn't with them directly), but the state government is prohibiting/limiting your free exercise of your religious practice. This is exactly what the framers of our government were specifically trying to defend. They left behind a repressive government that had a "state approved religion" and if you weren't of that religion, you were a lesser citizen. This is taking away the right to freely exercise the Christian religion by limiting it to the physical walls of the church. Every Christian knows that the "church" isn't made up of walls, it's made up of people. So tell me Mr. Governor... Since the people make up the "church," where are those limits and what religious freedoms are you limiting? And, how are you going to answer to your people when re-election time comes around? - jfm777, on 06/12/2008, -4/+10 In North Korea China, Marxist FARC Rebel territory in Colombia, and all other Marxist places, the government forbids any unauthorized 'God', and informs you that your government is the highest 'god' there is...
Sound familiar?.
Communism, Marxism..... Colorado? - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+7The left want to make everything equal, they think that total equality is how you create perfection. Well if everybody had to eat pig slop things would be equal but would that be perfected life? The left does not understand that freedom is the base of the Constitution. A essential concept of freedom is to be able to discriminate. Without discrimination there is no choice, and without choice no freedom. Yes you can chose to be perverted, but you can not make me WELCOME or ACCEPT that perversion. I have the freedom to speak against it.
- LifeguardMom, on 06/12/2008, -5/+11Do you hear that flushing sound? It's your right of free speech going down the toilet...............
- DavidS9, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5I'm in Cali and let me tell you I'm going to Texas not Colorado. At least in Texas people still know how to tie their shows with out 12 government programs to help them.
- Sandy1000, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6I know, I thought the same thing. This is BIGGER than homosexuality, this is bigger than any one particular subject for God's sake, this is basic Americans Freedom and all they can do is attack those who oppose their lifestyle and are actually justifying denying First Amendment rights for their precious sexual proclivities....can you believe people could be that shallow?
It makes you wonder....what do they think will be outlawed after all the dissenters of homosexuality are jailed or beaten into submission? Do they think it will stop there? You won't be able to speak out against those who oppose smoking, abortion, gun rights, euthanisia, suicide or obesity. Then it will graduate to anyone who dissents about climate change, US foreign policy, or a US national healthcare Plan....then ultimately we will have morphed into The People's Republic of Amerika and any publically mentioned comment opposing any political official or act of congress will be grounds for immediate imprisonment or exile.
How could anyone DIGG down any comment that supports such tyrannical evil? - drsanto, on 06/13/2008, -1/+6Quit crying and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF CHRISTIANS SHOULD GO AND INTENTIONALLY BREAK THEIR LAW.
Yeah, I realize there's scripture which says that we're supposed to obey the laws of the land, but how about the ones that are against the rights guaranteed by the contract called the Constitution? If they break the contract, we have NO MORAL OBLIGATION to obey. Our founders~ most being devout Christians~ would agree. They would've done something about it!
Church~ we are losing the culture war and, quite frankly~ our Country, because we refuse to ACTIVELY, VISIBLY and in a manner reminiscent of Civil Disobediance~ oppose evil.
Some Pastors need to quit serving Caesar and start serving God; It's okay to lose your tax exempt status~ the government isn't your source, G-D is.
Speak the truth in the pulpits AND IN THE STREETS!
EN MASS~ Go challenge this unconstitutional infringment upon morality and public decency.
DRS - johnnyreb61, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6This ANTI-GOD Colorado govt. will only last as long as Coloradans allow it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -3/+8You got that right. What I find so hypocritical is the fact that these ex Californians MOVE OUT because the state is bankrupted because of the welfare services that are paid out to illegal invaders, in addition to the lawlessness, crime and gangs because of these very people!
- Christianptriot, on 06/12/2008, -0/+52Timothy 4:3-4 are my favorite scriptures - and coming true every week.
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5As bad as this story is with regard to free speech. At least I know I can now enjoy the privilege of spending time in a woman's public restroom in Colorado without being pestered by some nosy police officer.
- StaticThunder, on 06/13/2008, -1/+6"I am glad to know you draw the line at molesting and peeping, at least you have SOME boundaries."
Oh come on. When has anyone here said inflicting physical harm on someone else or violating their privacy is ethical?
It is a PUBLIC restroom. Not yours. Public decides who can use it according to rule of law. - lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -2/+7I'd be okay with men or women or transgendered coming into the women's restroom while she was in there. I wouldn't be okay with people molesting her or peeping.
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -2/+7What's wrong with not liking somebody and expressing that dislike?
I can think of a number of people I can't stand. Would you prefer I didn't have the right to voice my displeasure with them?
Or would you just prefer we opened "Reprogramming Centers" ala Clockwork Orange? - MarilynBr, on 06/13/2008, -0/+5Not only pedophiles, rapists, too. The whole concept of men in the women's restroom fills me with concern.
- awannabe, on 06/13/2008, -2/+7Apparently Colorado doesn't abide by the 1st ammendment. Say hello to fascism, America!
- inactive, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4I was a Boy Scout, you know, I have a certain feeling of empathy, having endured a Summer camp that burned down while we were still in it. Don't you assume that I'm making light of this.
Me and my -minions-? I get the feeling you have a lot of pre-existing notions. I didn't post a comment on the camp article because it wasn't until hours later that WND bothered to post it. I wouldn't have brought it up in my list of examples if it had been there at the time.
And pointing out bad behavior isn't the point at all. It's hypocrisy I'm mocking. And I have NO shortage of examples among today's 'moral champions', who claim divine authority on Sunday, before snorting meth for the rest of the week. I don't even have to defend my 'lifestyle' if others have no right to judge it. -
