- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15BUSTED: Politicians taking bribes.... oh wait.. thats lobbying...
nevermind! - danthemansmith, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19Get Ramos and Compean the hell out of jail! They were honest Border guards doing their jobs!
- Otto, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13In the year 2007, we have these fascinating things called "cars" that can rapidly move people from place to place. Amazing, the wonders of the future!
- oderdigg, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Ahh.. the American dream. Make money at any cost, just don't get caught.
- Ghstfce, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Illegal immigrants are everywhere in the U.S. They don't need to live in a border state to be illegal. Didn't you hear about the whole debacle in Hazelton, PA about illegal immigrants and what the mayor was doing to put a stop to it?
- aegis9975, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11illegal entry into the US is a misdemeanor, only if repeated does it become a felony or at the discretion of the judge. In most cases an illegal immigrant won't even be charged and be directly deported; but the vast majority of cases are NOT a felony.
- Herostratus, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Maybe we should deport him? Would be fair and just for the crime. Could this be construed as treason in a time of war?
- blaket, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Living half-an-hour from Detroit I have to wonder why an illegal immigrant would want to stay in this state. Perhaps it was a mistaken article, and he was arrested for forcing them to stay here?
- Wacer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You obviously didn't count the number of Democrats that voted against the last immigration bill. This issue is not just a Republican issue.
- Lyanto, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9No.
- petemcfraser, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Your loved ones are all Afghans?
- Sell, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If this were China he would be deported at the least.
- dime, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7I love the "well he's lucky we don't treat him like Mexico or China". What, is that some kind of aspiration? It's good to be like Mexico or China? lol...
We'll never be able to deport 12 million people. It's not a question of determination, but logistics and resources.
We'll never truly secure the border. It's not a question of determination, but geography.
Hell, the whole concept of "illegal immigration" is recent. A hundred years ago, as long as you didn't have a communicable disease, you're in. If we could send you to fight wars for us it was an added bonus. - scrimaxinc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8I don't get the question...
- Himself, on 10/10/2007, -19/+23"illegal immigrants and criminals"
AND?
illegal immigrants = felons - Rimrock, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12If they commit a serious crime yes..
- macsaver, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6True that!!
- altgeeky1, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9You forgot "illegal" before your use of "hard working immigrants"... there is a difference, even if you are pretending otherwise or being deliberately obtuse.
Most immigrants I know would BRISTLE at your lumping them in with the illegal crowd... - inboxnews, on 10/10/2007, -7/+11Breakthrough USA, a UK site?
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4See, there's this country to the north of us called Canada.... which shares the world's longest border between two countries with us.
- edstate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3And that, my friend, is where the major split in the Republican party lies.
- Ghstfce, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Well maybe the INS official should lose his citizenship. Make him forcibly leave the country. That'll show that bastard. Now that I think about it, that really isn't too much punishment, now is it??
- DSSurge, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7They should really link to the recent press about immigrants who are going to be deported going to a place in Detroit called "Freedom House" who, for $500, gives them paperwork (which will get rejected) and drives them to Windsor, ON and drops them off putting a strain on the tax-payers in Canada until their application for Refugee status gets outright revoked, which it will. As a resident of Windsor I personally couldn't give a rats ass if some Immigration official in the states is getting bribed because the other end of the spectrum is they come here and WE have to pay for the *****-ups in the American government who allowed this big citizenship ***** to happen in the first place.
One immigration officer gets bribed, who ***** cares? Move on, the only reason the USA exists is because *gasp* people immigrated (in a very loose sense of the word) to it! Maybe you should stop worrying about people coming over on rafts because those are the people who want to live there, not blow it up. - orvtech, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4livefr33...
As sad as it is i have to agree with you. Mexico constantly commit what can be consider crimes a gains humanity (Crimenes de Lesa Humanidad in Spanish) against immigrants, they beat, rape, torture, extort, etc..
I didn't understood why the refugee Cuban community got united to the Mexican community when the marched on many cities so i asked around and found out about what they go through when they get caught coming from Cuba through Mexico. ... besides... Mexicans can't coma-re what they are going through (poverty) with what Cubans are running from. - Wacer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Probably to the bottom of a coal mine to work.
- calmeacham, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Way to show your intelligence Btzarro, you have added nothing of substance to the debate, just re enforced what people already know about Liberals. They will always loose the debate of ideas.
- Otto, on 10/10/2007, -7/+10Why is everything black and white for you?
Illegal immigrants are a problem. But so are corrupt idiots exploiting them. These are both issues that need to be fixed, it's not an either/or situation. - moskaudancer, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8"Sense" white people took over North America and called it theirs.
Illegal =/= morally reprehensible - KevenM, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Don't people report on convictions anymore? The way these stories are going, we won't need any sort of legal system anymore.
Guilty as dugg! - tkaStryc9, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Firing squad, anyone? This sounds a lot like treason to me.
- gthrank, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I suggest you look to your own president if you want to find a real criminal. The cynicism of the American right wing is so repulsive.
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Yep even among Mexicans it's an insult to call each other a "mojado." It pretty much means illegal alien. Even they know there is a big difference.
- daridave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the difference needs to be mentioned, because criminals can be judged in the country, while illegal immigrants need to be shipped back so they are judge in their own country.
- Synthos, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6Um... Correct me, Americans, but this is Michigan far from the Mexico border, right?
- Pyrogen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The Chicagoland area is far from the southern borders, and have large Mexican enclaves. Northern factories use illegal labor to help offset the high wages in the area. One Chicago-area Senator noted that if there were mass deportations, Chicago's economy would die. Throughout Wisconsin, the region's neighbor to the north, there were rallies and "A Day without Mexican" work stoppages.
I somehow doubt the situation is different in other northern states. - HeavyWaters, on 10/10/2007, -9/+11Well communist, the real problem is that you think all immigrants are hard-working. I guess the statistic that 1 in 5 prison inmates are illegal immigrants is an inconvenient truth for you.
- HeavyWaters, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Thought provoking response Btzarro. Congratulations, you have proven yourself mentally insane by your posts. I'm sorry you were beaten as a child, but it's time to finally deal with that don't you thnk? Also, have you ever thought that you may be living in the wrong country. Maybe Venezuela would be more to your liking.
Ultimately people of your disorderd ilk will fail at bringing about the socialist state you so desire. But feel free to stay and spew your ignorant philosophies. You're only helping us make the point that fascists like you abound in this country.
Just go back to your porn, and don't bother me again with your banal ramblings. - Matthew720, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Immigration policies in the last 20 years have become so stringent to the point that if they were applicable when most of the Italian, Irish, Polish and German immigrants came to this country the majority would have been turned down or deported. People that claim that "my grand parents came here from ________ legally back in the early 1900s, why can't today's immigrants do the same?" have no idea what they're talking about. Immigration policies in the early 1900s can be compared to getting on a ride at a county fair, as long as you're taller than 5 feet you're in.
- synce, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4What about the children that the "illegals" bring to this country? The children that spend most of their lives growing up in the USA, who speak the language fluently and have adapted to the culture? I guess they're felons, too. What a dumb, fascist nation we live in.
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What, you don't have foreigners in your country? I remember one instance in the news where people were caught by the Border Patrol smuggling Chinese into the U.S. through Canada.
- Monk22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2it has nothing to do with race just criminals.
- schnikies79, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Filithy 1st amendment hating bitch. People should be able to say what the want without going to prison. ***** you and anyone else who tries to shut up someone because they don't like what they say.
Keep our prisons open for people who try to suppress speech. - edstate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Ah, Unions. ***** it up in every which way.
- moskaudancer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3+1
HAHA! FOILED!! - Wacer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Turn your caps off and get rid of the exclamation points or everybody will digg you down every time. It just makes you look like an idiot.
- sissipher, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wait, people work in Detroit? This is news.
- Herostratus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Look at his name... ok now, look at his comment. Did he not call me an idiot? I called him a dunce and a nooblar. WOW I WAS SO UBERVICIOUS TO HIM. Ah dink ah shood apalagize... not. Now you too have earned the rank of the nooblar.
- artvandal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't see why it should be a big deal that we want immigrants to come here and obtain citizenship LEGALLY when almost every other country does the same thing. When they don't we end up with this huge ***** like the US is facing now. I hope Canada does a better job than we are at dealing with illegals. Because if not, have fun putting up with the same ***** we are!
