- mediablitz, on 09/24/2008, -35/+509Did I miss the part where she reported that martial law would be declared?
It was a short video (repeating the other 8 versions of this story posted on Digg). I don't think I missed it. Has she done a follow up where she says martial law will be declared?
How exactly is ONE BRIGADE going to handle all of the US? Or is asking obvious questions like that going to cause me to be dugg down, and swore at?

http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_homelan ... WTF? What are they expecting to happen in October?! - dracostimpy, on 09/23/2008, -7/+303A farewell to ammo?
- inactive, on 09/23/2008, -50/+279"THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated. Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but "to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER," and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God."

- mediablitz, on 09/24/2008, -11/+112I am really curious why several people dugg me down for asking a straightforward question.
I asked very direct questions. Rather than answer, you digg me down? If it is the truth you are after, why can't those who dugg me down answer my very basic questions?
It appears people are much more interested in, as I said, digging me down for asking obvious questions, rather than discussing this. - inactive, on 09/23/2008, -39/+140Remember we must use nonviolent civil disobedience as a means of stopping them. We cannot be the aggressors. Preemption is wrong. They are desperate. Keep fighting using words and ideas. We cannot win this militarily. We must reach the hearts of the people who are blissfully ignorant and confront them with a choice.
I hope it doesn't come down to what they are preparing for. Nevertheless, we should prepare also.
We need to recognize and respect the spirits that drive the flesh of each others' bodies, and unite as brothers and sisters against tyranny here and everywhere.
Namaste - Snap65, on 09/24/2008, -29/+123I wonder which Halliburton "detention center" I will be sent to if Marshall Law is declared. I hear they have a good food.
- LeepII, on 09/23/2008, -51/+141No real surprise, people that HAVE been paying attention have been warning the American public for years that this was all coming to be. Until American's are willing to get off their asses and fight there will be no hope.
- reed311, on 09/24/2008, -28/+115Hmm, this thread is classic. I'm going to have to save this page for when none of this ***** happens.
- mediablitz, on 09/24/2008, -13/+96Perhaps you can explain how one brigade is going to enforce martial law in the United States?
Can I even ask that question in this thread, with out being buried and called names? - reland1, on 09/23/2008, -22/+104"They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack."
OkK....should we prepare for the coming "horrific scenarios"? hmmmmmm....adios amigos... - maddhopps, on 09/24/2008, -6/+87Agreed. No mention of martial law. However, I still want to know why it's necessary. We have police officers and the National Guard to handle domestic emergencies.
- BrapAllgood, on 09/23/2008, -24/+99Well...there was this:
"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) is reporting in the Kremlin today that the Bank of England has received from the United States Federal Reserve Bank a ‘notice’ that President Bush is preparing to declare an ‘Economic Emergency’ during the week of October 5th and will further announce that the American Presidential election due to be held on November 4th will be ‘indefinitely suspended’."

I am still waiting for it to be wrong.... - inactive, on 09/23/2008, -14/+80Not if the Mainstream Media refuses to cover it. It is our job to help disseminate the information. We can't just rely on others to do it for us. Speak up, people!
- SethEllis, on 09/24/2008, -18/+83Wait I'm confused, I thought we were already under martial law...
I'm sorry, but I just can't help but be skeptical about this. This is like the 10th time a story like this has been posted, and every time they're wrong. I could make jokes about tin foil hats and so on so forth, but that just doesn't cut it anymore. All I can really say is that you guys are complete morons if you believe this. Yes that's right, all 218 of you and counting are complete idiots for digging this story. - inactive, on 09/23/2008, -10/+67Follow the teachings of Dr. King and Ghandi until there is no option left but to fight or die. We can stop this without bullets.
- StingingNettle, on 09/24/2008, -17/+72Probably because we will have double digit inflation within 1 year.
- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -20/+72There is much more to the story than this little snip suggests. If you so some research on subjects like operation Northwoods, operation garden plot and Rex 84, Posse Comitatus being essentially revoked, the RNC and RNC riot police/military squads with no bage numbers or names, illegal seizure of reporters' cameras, notes, computers, and video... there is lots more but I'm not going to do the work for you. Check it out!
- mwilkinson, on 09/24/2008, -20/+71When Oct. 1st comes along and there isn't any martial law, will you guys admit to being gullible retards?

- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -14/+57Oh boy, it's yet another "OMFG!! The Road Warrior is real!!" prediction for the downfall of the United States.
I get it. You guys are still furiously masturbating to the idea of riding around in rust-bucket cars and shooting up everything in the name of chaos and anarchy. Guess what? It's not going to happen, at least not anytime soon. - maddhopps, on 09/24/2008, -25/+66What is scariest is that this is such a tiny step toward fascism that the general American public will not recognize the slippery slope.
- mediablitz, on 09/24/2008, -14/+52"There is much more to the story than this little snip suggests. "
I am familiar with all the issues you mention. I am unclear what operation Northwoods has to do with how one Brigade can control the entire United States. I am asking a very specific question, related directly to the claims of the poster.
@MarkusGarvey
Blackwater et al. can't even control Iraq. how would that list control the entire armed United States, with the large majority of our troops overseas? Are you really claiming that Fox News, along with Blackwater, can convince the entire US to give up their rights?
Can you provide details on how this would work? - inactive, on 09/24/2008, -4/+41as long as you don't take showers or drink the water...
- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -6/+43Great post. However history shows us that the only option really left is:
Option 1: "Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. UNFORTUNATELY, NOTHING WILL PRESERVE IT BUT DOWNRIGHT FORCE: Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined." Patrick Henry
Option 2: Or we can bend over and become penniless, hungry and homeless serfs in the NWO
- I say live free or die! I'll take Option 1 and be labeled a "Domestic Terrorist" just like our founding forefathers were labeled by the evil British Crown. - bachrock, on 09/23/2008, -85/+122I have an idea: once a day (or week) people should get to digg an article twice.
If that were possible, I would digg this one twice. - doiveo, on 09/24/2008, -4/+40I read this article, word for word, and just don't see it. It's a big leap in logic to say this means martial law. The article is full of USO verbratto yes. Normal, considering the source, but not scary. In fact, much better these people are at home building damns and securing disaster sites then being active in a foreign war zone. They will be largely unarmed of lethal weapons and the duties look to solving issues at home. If anything, the US might be getting better value out of its defense spending.
Then again, I'm Canadian and perhaps this is just the first stage in an attack for our water and oil riches.

ah *****. - enigmatics, on 09/24/2008, -10/+46Two words: Slippery Slope.
If we have one active brigade in the nation, why not two? Why not four? Why not eight? Why not 50, one for each state? Why not two for each state?... - hadees, on 09/24/2008, -20/+56only if i get to bury you twice
- humanerror, on 09/24/2008, -14/+50Yes. Why is that surprising? The most dangerous enemy of any regime is its own population.
After all, you didn't really think they set up a prison camp in Guantanamo Bay just so they could ship in Iraqis and Afghan POWs, did you? They've already got dozens of perfectly good secret prisons in the Middle East for them.
Make no mistake. Guantanamo was always meant for us. - emmeron, on 09/24/2008, -1/+36Welcome to digg. "Ah, I don't agree with you, so I'll bury you!" ... of course, it usually means "ack, I dunn get what you mean cuz I already believe pigs can fly so f-u." Especially if the article had nothing to do with pigs.
- jetx29, on 09/24/2008, -2/+37I understand where you're coming from. But it still concerns me that the government would feel the need to keep an active brigade of troops on U.S. soil. Are we in danger of being attacked? Is there a hurricane imminent? Not that I've heard of.
It's a bit of a slippery slope argument, but I don't like the idea of active combat brigades on our own soil. It reeks of the beginning of something worse. I don't subscribe to that stupid martial law claim in the headline at all, but the thought of an active brigade on our soil doesn't sit well with me. Our military shouldn't be used to counter civil unrest unless it is absolutely necessary, and even then it should be the National Guard for a cause that is morally worthy (think Brown v. Board of Education), not the army. - ryanhayn, on 09/24/2008, -8/+43Oh trust me, this is NOT going to be a wake up call. The American people are forever in a coma.
- Ismith988, on 09/24/2008, -1/+35It's the reason the 2nd amendment was put in place, not so we can hunt bears and ***** but to defend our way of life from tyranny and oppression.
- inactive, on 09/23/2008, -22/+56I've been trying to locate this story on the ArmyTimes.com website.... I've been unable to verify these claims. Does anyone know where the story is?
- Gemfinder, on 09/24/2008, -2/+35@VitriolandAngst:
As a matter of fact, they did.
The calligrapher of the Declaration of Independence, David Rittenhouse Sr., was chosen because he had the best handwriting and came from a centuries-long and proud lineage of scholars. - AnarchoGoth, on 09/24/2008, -11/+44Got Posse Comitatus?
http://digg.com/world_news/Army_brigade_homeland_t ... - inactive, on 09/24/2008, -15/+47We may stop without firing bullets, but we won't stop it without being killed by bullets.
Nonviolent protest against an Army division accustomed to shooting civilians will only work if many civilians are willing to die for the cause.
Its not really the American character to die as a pacifist when we could shoot back. -
