- buba69, on 10/21/2007, -42/+458This guy is awesome...
I agree that religion must be respected...but we also must respect freedom of speech....and this guy is living the dream - manstein01, on 10/18/2007, -35/+361This is different. War is OK when it's for Allah...
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/29/2007, -17/+273BEHEAD ALL THOSE WHO CALL ISLAM VIOLENT
No rly, that's the level of intelligence we're dealing with here. - BottledSunshine, on 10/19/2007, -49/+273No wonder they're mad, you can't draw Ol' Mo' as a dog. It's an insult to dogs.
- cmorwhat, on 10/20/2007, -14/+230"call me a terrorist, call me a terrorist, but i have the right to defend my prophet!".....wait WHAT? you have the right to kill a man for insulting your PROPHET?! no, no my fair completely covered crazy lady, HE has the right to free speech. YOU have the right to defend YOURSELF and your family. you also have the right to ignore it. dont move to a western country unless you are prepared to accept our freedoms and rights as your own. that being said....wouldnt it be awesome if George bush and that lady were set up on a blind date?
- tizz66, on 10/29/2007, -8/+193Freedom of expression go to hell!
No seriously, they had a placard that said that during their last protest. I think the irony was lost on them. - gsa5383, on 10/21/2007, -7/+171It reminds me of that south park episode ripping on family guy. I just think it is amazing that so many people have been able to find this guy's contact info and send him threats constantly. but he is standing up for what he believes in and if he feel that strongly about freedom of speech then i wish him as much luck as possible. i support him.

"One Swedish Muslim woman who lives just an hour-and-a-half drive from Vilks said she hopes to make good on the al Qaeda threat and slaughter Vilks like a lamb.
"I can do this in the name of Allah, and I will not fail. I could slaughter him in the name of Allah," says the woman who identified herself only as Amatullah.
She adds, "If I get the opportunity." - haentz, on 10/20/2007, -17/+137Would a Hindu go out on the street, burn flags and try to kill people, because someone in Europe kicks a Cow in the ass? Most certainly not... Because Hinduism is not a religion which is based on the feeling of beeing insulted by the smallest cause...
- vault, on 10/19/2007, -4/+123So the way to deal with prejudice is through death threats and rioting?
- Jaxim, on 10/22/2007, -4/+113Here's a link to this picture:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lars_Vilks_Muhammad_d ... - benitojuarez, on 10/22/2007, -9/+114if he wants to be an ultra badass his next drawing should be mohhammed with the body of a pig eating some bacon and visibly enjoying it.
- airquotes, on 10/18/2007, -6/+102it aint in the name of allah its in the name of the almighty dollar, ***** these fake ass muslims
- Tangaroa, on 10/22/2007, -2/+79That doesn't excuse putting a bounty on the head of the guy who drew the cartoon, with a bonus for killing him extra gruesomely.
Among the people who shouldn't care about the artist's rendition are the people who posted the bounty. The fact that they did that is the problem here. - happyhead7, on 10/22/2007, -15/+88murder, rape, incest is all ok if you do it in the name of religion and you get god's stamp of approval.
- richid, on 10/19/2007, -7/+77How about the fact that he is receiving death threats from radical Muslim's who are intolerant of his rights. Wouldn't that be considered a pain in the ass too?
- Talphin, on 10/18/2007, -6/+75Why do these crackpots feel they have to defend Allah? Isn't he supposed to be the ultimate supreme being? Is he not capable of defending himself?
- str3ama, on 10/20/2007, -42/+111yet we're the one with a 'Commander in Chief' who gets personal advice straight from Jesus.
- airquotes, on 10/20/2007, -12/+74anyone who put up the bounty on this guys head or tries to accept it should be jailed for life, bush could use this guy as bait for radicals and help clean up the streets a bit.. ***** these angry self righteous zealots! I mean what a bunch of incredibly predictive reactionist loosers, I can control them with their anger pavlovian response mechanism, its easier then marketing fast food.. there must be a way to make money off the predictability of the muslim hair trigger hate machine.
- daridave, on 10/22/2007, -14/+73Muslims don't know what the f* they want. I'm not ***** on anybody's religion... they are, though. If you're not one of them, you're crap... I just can't f*ing stand it anymore. I don't know how it is in the US, but there in Montreal, Canada, they're starting to piss the whole freaking city off, since they're asking for rule changes all the f*ing time. It's getting annoying, and to see this man act NORMAL, express himself and for them to freak out about it, makes me LOVE it. I would digg this twice!
- CiXeL, on 10/20/2007, -6/+65where do i get a tshirt of the drawing?
- Maarek, on 10/18/2007, -4/+62Your countries do not deserve to be invaded...well except maybe Saudi Arabia which is helping orchastrate most of the other invasions but that's just politics.
Your religion on the other hand needs all the questioning and "disrespect" it can get, just like any religion. If it is a true religion like its followers claim, then it will hold up under scrutiny and your faith/belief will be reinforced. The reason why so many religious people fear their religion being disrespected is because they themselves fear it being shown to be a lie. It is YOUR lack of faith, not those doing the disrespect, that you fear and I doubt many will do much to assist you with dealing with that fear. - haentz, on 10/18/2007, -3/+61Stupidity
- TheHydrogens, on 10/21/2007, -3/+58Check yesterdays edition of the "It's a Freaking Joke Times"
- tizz66, on 10/18/2007, -1/+55If western countries invade your country, then I certainly appreciate your right to dictate the rules and fight back. That's no problem.
But don't you dare immigrate to another country and expect to bring your rules with you. When you settle in another country, you abide by THEIR rules and customs. And in the case of western countries, that means everyone has free speech. If you don't like that, you're welcome to go somewhere else that better fits your expectations. - inactive, on 10/19/2007, -4/+56and why isn't she getting in any sort of trouble for making death threats?
- nwoantibody, on 10/18/2007, -5/+57I don't think countries should allow immigrants who promise to kill actual citizens who insults someone or anything. Even more so, when they immigrate to a country with different laws.
Screen them out: Would you try to kill anyone who insults your prophet? If yes? Send them politely back home. If no, welcome home :). ***** them. They want freedom of religion, but they think they have a right to kill me if I speak my mind on any issue? Go ***** yourself! - nailz420, on 10/18/2007, -9/+61he better watch out for the ninjas then!
http://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2007/WORLD/europe/10/16/art ... - theodenking, on 10/18/2007, -4/+55Why should religions be respected more than any other view? This is the fundamental problem with Muslims, culturally they just don't get what freedom of expression means.
- 5urr3al5am, on 10/20/2007, -3/+53Try to keep your facts straight here: This is a large community (or religion offering) a pay someone to slit the throat of a non-threatening private citizens because of something he expressed (said/drawn). It doesn't speak very well of that community. When was the last time someone from the Christian community, the Pope, Rev Jessie Jackson, that guy from the 700 club, offered a money to slit the throat of someone who was offensive towards Christian beliefs, or an artists that created a Christian symbol out of crap? Makes you think, who is intolerant of whom?
- LetsGoHokies, on 10/23/2007, -8/+58The religion of peace strikes again
- str3ama, on 10/18/2007, -16/+65This whole thing has lost its novelty, it's so easy to anger the pious - you don't need any cartoons mocking their esteemed religious icons. Just say you're an atheist and for some reason all religious nutjobs seem to take that as an insult to their beliefs, as if not believing exposes their doubts in their own belief. How many Christians get in to a religious fervour whenever the prospect of gay marriage or abortion comes up.. It's like shooting fish in a barrel, no real challenge to upsetting the religious.
- Ebulating, on 10/18/2007, -6/+55This is exactly why the Islamic world is so damn backwards, you are so willing to kill anyone who steps out of line. Mohhammed was a violent, war mongering *****, and his followers willingness to kill people who say so is all the proof you need.
- OrganicDrew, on 10/18/2007, -38/+86I think people don't understand history if they did they wouldn't care about the artists rendition.
the reason for the RULE that thou shalt not make a graven image of mohomid the prophet is that, people where afraid it would lead to the path that christions went down with symbolism being used to idolize and manefest a god as a person thus taking the power away from its intended focus the inner god self and your own actions. It is a slippery slope that allows people to take away any responsibility for their own actions knowing that someone up there will fix all your problems, where is the responsibility in that?
obviously followers of mohomid are not going to take a DOG seriously so their is no chance of them worshiping the false idol so no harm, however a person like rendition would infact be harmful to the culture - bamapachyderm, on 10/18/2007, -7/+54Why the hell would you even joke like that? *****!
- realyst, on 10/18/2007, -3/+49If your goal is to fortify those very stereotypes you feel you're being disrespected for: bravo, you ignorant *****. You've done a great disservice to those Muslims which truly are peaceful.
- airquotes, on 10/19/2007, -5/+51no they cant, because they are fake or dead, or both...
- ScottAG, on 10/22/2007, -1/+45Is she in it for the virgins?!
- bamapachyderm, on 10/18/2007, -5/+49It took CNN long enough to report on this--this is old news. Still, dugg because it needs to be seen in something other than blogs.
- HotBaconSauce, on 10/18/2007, -9/+52I agree. Any idiot who cannot use correct grammar, or even spell the word "speech" correctly throughout his rant, should definitely not have freedom of speech. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK FREELY AGAINST FREE SPEECH OKAY?
- bajiroshi, on 10/18/2007, -3/+43And people wonder why stereotypes exist.
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/18/2007, -1/+40Actions? How suitably vague. You don't know what you're talking about. You're just frothing at the mouth because your Imam or other unelected loud-mouth religious leader told you to froth at the mouth.
The idiocy of people like you makes me sick. - inactive, on 10/18/2007, -9/+47Christians would certainly be offended, and they might write nasty letters to you and about you (you do agree that EVERYONE has free speech, right?), but they wouldn't put a bounty on your head.
- FluffyWolf, on 10/18/2007, -1/+38The bounty on Vilks head is set out by Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, a person which US military has claimed don't exist. But the threat might still be real, but there is probably no chance to collect the money for a would be killer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Omar_al-Baghdadi
- benitojuarez, on 10/18/2007, -11/+48Are you serious? Hah go ahead an do it you oversensitive *****, and while youre at it, turn on the tv, jesus is made fun of and maligned on a regular basis. None of us get our panties in a twist over it.
- Pinhedd, on 10/18/2007, -3/+39deport her imo, she obviously did not read her immigration papers well enough.
- tesuji05, on 10/28/2007, -6/+42If this guy gets killed, we should all start drawing mohammed cartoons.
- TheCosmicFool, on 10/21/2007, -0/+36http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lars_Vilks_Muhammad_d ...
- inactive, on 10/18/2007, -18/+53That guy is awesome because I can get $100,000 for killing him. Thank you, Al Qaeda.
