- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -7/+271For once I am proud of what a internet based group is doing.
- xOKxWhy, on 02/10/2008, -4/+160Remember, remember, the 10th of Febember
- diggitny, on 02/10/2008, -11/+124Getting February 10 off to a great start. Major praise.
Watch Scientologists "handle" an SP (suppressive person) who shows up to their party. "What are your crimes? Murder, perhaps!" Great stuff: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pPol_m8wm8Y - tomtom10, on 02/10/2008, -4/+99***** me, that picture with the anons in masks in mainstream media just gave me an orgasm
- Itspeople, on 02/10/2008, -5/+95Oomsoup-
Does any other religion make you sign a billion year contract to work for 50 dollars a day for expensive courses?
Does any other religion make you disconnect from everyone (even relatives) because they don't believe in the same thing as you?
Would any other religion neglect almost all of its member's health to save a couple bucks?
Religion might not be perfect, but comparing Scientology to most other religions isn't really right at all. Scientology is obviously far worse than say, Christianity. - phantom_mullet, on 02/10/2008, -0/+84Don't worry ma'am, I'm from the internet.
- americascynic, on 02/10/2008, -2/+77Ok, to all the folks who say "we need to do this to every religion", you're down right bugging me. By ruining other religions, you're attempting to take away other people's freedoms. That's why Anon is not attacking the scientology beliefs, only their criminal/deviant behavior. If folks want to believe in aliens and thetans, more power to them... but it's not right to commit criminal acts against other humans. By "taking down" other religions, you are censoring people and their beliefs, and are no better then the scientologists. Also, as many of you have pointed out, scientology is not a real religion. As these tactics are to be used on a cult, it is not right to use them on a religion (particularly ones that have, for the most part, peaceful intentions). Go Anon. Bring criminals to justice!
- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -4/+69see, heres the diffrence though.
1. Other religions don't charge a dime to be in their "religion"... I could be a christian all my life and never pay a penny.
2. Other religions don't practice "Disconnection". I have family members and friends that are christians, muslims, hindu, All of them remain my friends and family. Even though i'm an atheist, the church nor their beliefs interfere with that.
3. Other religions weren't founded by a sci-fi lunatic (at least to our knowledge :P) that said... "The way to make a million dollars is to start a religion." - L Ron hubbard.. Other Religions are there to help guide people, not take their money.
4. People aren't afraid to question other religions, I could walk into my nearest Christian Church, have a meaningful conversation with the head person (dunno what they call them lol) and would have no yelling, no Private Investigators stalk me, no threats, nothing.
I'm an atheist, and while i hate the fact that theres more people in the U.S. that believe in Angels than evolution I'd rather not see a CULT like Scientology purposely trying to destroy people's lives. - dizturbd2, on 02/10/2008, -1/+64"Anonymous is perpetrating religious hate crimes against Churches of Scientology and individual Scientologists for no other reason than religious bigotry," the statement says. Religious bigotry? Um, don't you have to be a bonafied religion to accuse others of religious bigotry towards you?
- phauna, on 02/10/2008, -5/+68Nice duds.
- sgtcaboose, on 02/10/2008, -7/+65well done adelaide!
- scabbers, on 02/10/2008, -3/+44I was hoping for V for vendetta masks.
- Itspeople, on 02/10/2008, -0/+39For anybody who would say other religions are as bad as scientology should read this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R2-45
It's basically a "free auditing" that involves releasing thetans by shooting the person being audited with a Colt .45
L. Ron Hubbard named 12 people who Scientologists were supposed to use R2-45 on, basically telling his church to murder 12 opponents of his religion.
Also, compare the way members are taught.
Compare "turn to other cheek" (Jesus) to Hubbard's "Fair Game" - ksc23, on 02/10/2008, -0/+34Re: tax exempt status.
Reed Slatkin, an ordained "minister" of scientology and ex-earthlink exec funneled millions of dollars to the Cult of Scientology and its front organizations through the second largest ponzi scheme in history (sentenced in 2003). The scientologists got off with a slap on the wrist of a $3.5 million fine/settlement-which was little over a tenth of what was stolen from people in this scam. If ever there was a reason a so-called church were to have their 501c3 status revoked- that would be it.....

Another point - no other church requires fees to read the doctrine and become a full member. Sure, there is tithing, but that is completely voluntary. - Beatmiser, on 02/10/2008, -3/+37Problem is, Scientology is a pyramid scheme for money. Not a religion.
- jameshighmore, on 02/10/2008, -1/+34It took me a good minute and a half to realise that you put a made-up word in there. I'll be laughing about that until next Caturday!
- Ireland, on 02/10/2008, -1/+34you should remove your name from your digg profile for a while
- rainbowblack, on 02/10/2008, -1/+31this is about awareness more than some internet meme
- Envark, on 02/10/2008, -0/+29I stumbled across a pretty good summary of Anon protests with pictures...
http://theonecalledh.livejournal.com/803682.html - inactive, on 02/10/2008, -7/+35go anon!
- Rikushix, on 02/10/2008, -1/+27Well, well, Captain America, what are you standing around for? Get out there and show us uncivilized, uncouth people how we should ALL follow your example! Show those Nefarious Powers who's boss!
- jester55, on 02/10/2008, -4/+29thats a great picture.
- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -0/+24V masks? Poor Guy Fawkes.
- diversionmary, on 02/10/2008, -2/+25Apple George, consider not wearing your elliot smith tshirt.
- wellyuk, on 02/10/2008, -0/+22Why is it not safe? From his Digg username, I've found out (within about 30 seconds of searching), he's a 19 year old male called George Arthur, who works for Kohl's in sales support.
- FatLoser, on 02/10/2008, -1/+22Apparently you've never witnessed the selflessness of an IRC pornbot with 100:1 ratios and free Fridays.
- nubnub, on 02/10/2008, -1/+19"He looks like a child molester to me."
- nubnub, on 02/10/2008, -0/+17Yes. World wide. 280 some Events planned.
- americascynic, on 02/10/2008, -1/+18be wary be wary the tenth of February... We'll have to get some other words to follow it.
- HeyLew, on 02/10/2008, -1/+18***** Scientology
- halfdirt, on 02/10/2008, -6/+21You keep posting this same message in every scientology thread. And it's been pointed out in the other threads too.
- DephexTwin, on 02/10/2008, -0/+15Consider using the word "they're" instead of "their" on your sign.
- kevxross, on 02/10/2008, -16/+30I dugg you, but you're talking about a movement that the world is not quite ready for yet. Anon would just get squashed immediately. I do think the world is progressing in the right direction - more people becoming educated and dropping the reliance on imaginary beings, but it's got a lot longer to go. You gotta start somewhere; scientology seems like a great place to start.
- HonestAbe, on 02/10/2008, -1/+15I love the Internet.
- Vikrane, on 02/10/2008, -1/+15Hey, my name is David too.
- americascynic, on 02/10/2008, -0/+13In other cities, there were TONS! of V masks. Would have been even cooler had this happened prior to a film version and mass produced masks, but still pretty awesome
- Nissmo66, on 02/10/2008, -2/+15is this protest going on in America, the heart of this cult?
- ksc23, on 02/10/2008, -0/+13Although I would agree with you about scientology being a cult, I would not diminish Heaven's Gate's influence and control over its flock. My parents were in Heaven's Gate and I was separated from them at ten- with absolutely no contact for years.....
Long story short- they are NOW DEAD.
The impact of cults is far reaching-and should never be diminished. Although I believe in the right to FREE thought, I do not believe in government sanctioned cults (tax free status) or the limiting of free thought in cults.
One thing I hope that Anonymous will remember is that when you attack a group- you unify the members in the fight. It is not simple bringing people out of the grip of a cult..... - thebellmaster1x, on 02/10/2008, -2/+15With some afros, these guys would look ready to close the Scientologists' pools.
- MasterFunk, on 02/10/2008, -0/+12"Curtains were drawn across the windows of the office and the protest was ignored by those inside."
Curtains were drawn across the windows
Curtains were drawn
Curtains - inactive, on 02/10/2008, -2/+14The other religions weren't made up by published science fiction writers who said "The best way to get rich is by making up a religion."
- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -2/+14Well done, Anon. Here's hoping the other protests go off as smoothly! I also think this is if the first time I've heard the Co$ speak directly about Anon; they must be getting worried.
Either way, another big victory for the whole Ebaumsworld crew, and especially Eric Bauman himself. Nice work, E! - fredtellum, on 02/10/2008, -1/+13I am not here to defend religion, but to call a rag ass ***** cult like scatology I mean scientology a religion is an affront to civilized world. Heaven's Gate was a better deal than scientology and Marshall Applewhite was a visionary compared to El Ron hubbard.
I want to see Anonymous at the opening of any film involving any of the poor idiot bastard followers of a dead crappy sci-fi writer. Hit them in the pocketbook at the box office and hit them in the pocketbook at the IRS by killing the exemption.
"Fair Game" hahahaha we shall see. - Pilomotor, on 02/10/2008, -0/+11I am the President of Asia. His argument is invalid.
- JorgeGonzalez, on 02/10/2008, -0/+11Is there a way for me to find out if there's a similar event occuring near me? I wish I knew about this before the day of. =(
- JusticeAK, on 02/10/2008, -1/+12I'm headed downtown with my sign right now.
- midjunkie, on 02/10/2008, -1/+11I LOVE how the media takes everything literally. David FTW.
- jameshighmore, on 02/10/2008, -0/+10Holy *****.
- LordMonboddo, on 02/10/2008, -3/+12"V for Vendetta"-ish - Nice!
