atleast these have traffic lights!- ametory, on 03/22/2008, -12/+2wow. You must be the same guy who complains about fox news. I bet you derived your "facts" from one video taken in the 80s that you saw on the internet. Because according to you one video is enough for you to make an assumption that India does not have traffic lights!!. Way to go digger
- tcardone05, on 03/22/2008, -1/+6I guess government inefficiency goes all the way down to the transportation planning office.
- G3omega, on 03/22/2008, -5/+0I wonder when the 1st multi-level traffic system will be integrated. Its getting to the point where sky cars keep making more and more sense. The 1st pic looks like a plate of noodles.

- Paranoidmarvin, on 03/22/2008, -1/+17The Magic Roundabout is crazy.
You just close your eyes, drive straight on and hope for the best.- frasermoo, on 03/22/2008, -0/+8if you know how to negotiate roundabouts and understand road discipline then the magic roundabout is easy, but I still can't understand why they just don't make it one big normal roundabout. city planners on drugs. seriously.
- LostRiot, on 03/22/2008, -0/+12 days after passing my driving test the only car i was insured on was my dads morris minor and i had to drive to swindon, i took a wrong turn and ended up there.... double d clutching proved to be a bit of an issue..... i think i drove straight across 3 of them......it was terrifying!!

- Miamisun, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1I drive the Golden Glades in Miami almost every day. Not as complicated as it looks. Pretty neat to see something that looks so crazy from up above not seem as crazy when your on it.
- senatorpjt, on 03/22/2008, -0/+4http://www.empirestateroads.com/week/week1.html
There's the one near me. It's maybe not as impressive but it's pretty confusing for such a small city. - Nightwish224, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1I get a headache and road rage by just looking at that.
- Evildudetx, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2From the air, almost any interchange looks confusing as hell - on the ground and where you can see the signs, it makes perfect sense. We've got a bunch of that crap here in Houston - easy enough to figure out where you are going....provided you don't get cut off by 10 non-signaling assholes.
And for those traffic circles....they just suck. Confusing, dangerous, and just insane. The designers should be killed outright.- breadfred, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1They are called roundabouts.. and they are actually pretty nifty, once you are used to them.
- louiebaur, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Those roundabouts look like an accident waiting to happen
- Fogdelune, on 03/22/2008, -2/+2Hey! Look kids! There's Big Ben, there's Parliament!

- lukeydukey, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1anybody have a picture of that crazy road that you need to make some really convoluted route for a u-turn? or was it crossing the street?
- jcaino, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Hell with that, you've obviously never driven into and then attempted to get out of Pittsburgh. Not a modest undertaking for the unwashed masses.
- CaliforniaEagle, on 03/22/2008, -0/+0These are some awesome pictures. WOW
- Stonehenge360, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1I have seen this twice on the front page already..
- yeahright, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2Toronto has a pretty brutal one, known as the "basketweave", which connects the 401 with Hwy 427, Hwy 27, Eglinton Ave and Renforth Dr.
http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=to ...- jperras, on 03/22/2008, -0/+0Actually when you hear the reference to "basketweave" in Toronto it's referring to the area just east of the Jane St. underpass on the 401. Nowhere near as messy as the area you posted, but looks just like what I'd imagine a basketweave to look like (this is also the part of the 401 in Toronto where the highest percentage of accidents happen). http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=to ...
- Thugacation, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Imagine driving in Lagos traffic.
http://qqqqssss.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/200707 ... - caponumen, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2The magic mushroom roundabout is simply the best ever.
I wish we had one like that here........ - bat-21, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2I don't know why Chicago's on here. Find the street you want, turn right. The biggest problem is potholes. Recently had one that swallowed a van. http://www.wbbm780.com/SW-Side-Pothole-Swallows-Mi ...
- sealjosh, on 03/22/2008, -0/+3If I ever came across the magic roundabout
I would just get out of my car and start crying - bigbill780, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2I am a civil engineer and I want to bitch slap the magic roundabouts creator.
- wautrey, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Statistics show, that while intimidating at first, accidents do indeed occur much less in municipalities that use round-abouts, rather than traditional interchanges.
- Mitzp, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Fantastic article with so many pictures, I just had to see them all. Amazing how we still have traffic jams though... You think someone might have solved the problems by now.
- siractsalot777, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1i would do anything to drive on one of those roads
- Dropperbr, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Im brazilian, have you seen the pictures taken from Sao Paulo,Brazil? Last time I was there it took me 6 hours to cross from north to south of the city, believe me its not a good thing!
- alevasseur14, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the shot of the I35/94 interchange. That was always a fun one to navigate back when I had a car!
- amidtheblue, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1New Jersey has GOT to be one of the worst states for road layout. No turn on left roads, almost all one lane, construction that is going nowhere, traffic lights in high traffic areas that still don't have sensors.
If geographically possible it would be nice if everything was set up like Chicago. Keep it simple. - GingerKid, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1i live near magic roundabout. not as scary as it looks. 1st time, yeh. every other is E-Z!
- cambob76, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2Bring on the cars that drive themselves.... obviously people aren't capable of getting it right.
- annjay, on 03/22/2008, -0/+0Great!
- Dulcinea80, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1That's stressing me out just looking at it!
