- slugpellet63, on 03/12/2009, -0/+1Actually we have a lot of self-determination (comparible to, and in some instances greater than, individual states of the USA) and in Scotland have our own legal system. Given a few more elections, hopefully we'll also have our independance (current govt in Holyrood is the SNP) without a single shot fired or bomb thrown (apart from a few nutters back in the 70's trying to blow up electricity pylons in the middle of the countryside).
We are also (in Scotland) a net contributor to the UK economy (we have all the oil and whiskey).
Your comment below is increasingly irrelevant as the SNP has formed the recent Holyrood govt. Also polls show that the SNP garners the largest share amongst younger voters and this is increasing.
