DiggBar

The DiggBar enables you to Digg, read comments, find related content, and share stuff from any page on the Web. And it's presented in a short URL format, making it easy to share in emails, on Twitter, and via other services. In addition to finding it on all outbound links from Digg, you can generate the DiggBar using any of the following solutions.

DiggBar Bookmarklet

Make short Digg links and add a DiggBar on any page on the web using this handy bookmarklet. Install it as a bookmark and, when you find a page you want to submit or share, just click the bookmark and it will load the page with a DiggBar at the top!

Instructions: Click and drag the button below into your Bookmarks Bar. Can't see your Bookmarks Bar? Find and select "Show Bookmarks Bar" from the menu in your browser. DiggBar

Address Bar

A quick and easy way to generate the DiggBar is to type in http://digg.com/ before any URL in your browser's address bar and hit return. This will generate a short URL and reload the page you were viewing with the DiggBar on top. Say you wanted a DiggBar for http://google.com, just type http://digg.com/http://google.com in your address bar and it will automatically happen.

API Tools for Developers

We've made a couple of simple endpoints in our API to allow you to:

  • Create a new short URL on Digg for any given URL. If a short URL already exists for the given URL, the response will include an itemid attribute for the item on Digg.
  • Look up the page URL for any short URL on Digg.
