nbc.com — As promised NBC has started offering the webisodes for The Office. As advertised, it shows the accountants ( Angela, Kevin and Oscar) discovering that money is missing from the company account and they are going to find it.

- Captaintripps, on 10/12/2007, -90/+5Duplicate.
- dave3digg, on 10/12/2007, -9/+43Duplicate nazi go home!
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -77/+9For me, seeing what is going on in Beirut and then seeing a headline "Webisodes of The Office now online", says a lot about our culture. So much going on in the world and we are concerned about being able to watch The Office on the Web. Sorry for the downer, but the world we live in sucks no matter how you try to forget it via TV or Web.
- jeromeerome, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27Whoa rasterbator. you sound like you accidentally stumbled into the entertainment section of digg. If you don't like seeing stories like this you can turn them off in your preference settings for the site. No need to make a completely off topic post here about how much the word sucks in your opinion.
- angelp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13@rasterbator - With that logic, I guess we shouldn't enjoy anything, should we? You might want to block the entertainment section of Digg since it bothers you so much. The rest of us will go on with our lives and try to make the best of it.
- Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Wow, I'm using the ban button a lot lately...
- gambl0r, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27Maybe if Isreal and Lebanon would just sit down and watch The Office together, they would laugh and become best friends forever.
- SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Yeah, clearly Israel needs to throw a big TV watching party. Get one of those experimental 80 inch plasma screens and invite all the other countries. We'd have world peace before the end of the week.
- cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Maybe these will get better when Creed is shown some love?
- zarkkan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21great show and a good idea, I'm sure they'll be funny.
- gumby05, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14yeah, i'm just glad to be getting something new until the next season comes out.
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32That show is AWESOME!
- Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10The Office is the BEST. EVAR!
- CDNnewbie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Dinkin' flicka.
- jtrost, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8I like the show, but these first two webisodes have been pretty dull. I hope they get better.
- PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10then need to put a full screen option on these flash vids
- mjar81, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Can you imagine the quality of a full-screen FLV?
It would be the worst looking video EVER!
Everyone needs to get with the program and encode everything in the latest H.264 codec. - bmson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@mjar81
The "On2 VP6" codec in flash 8 displays upscale videos really great (with .smoothing = true)
Much better than many other codecs.
But I agree they should encode it in the H264. That's quality
- mjar81, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Can you imagine the quality of a full-screen FLV?
- akira117, on 10/12/2007, -23/+15British ver. is better though.....
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -17/+11Then go watch their webisodes. Wait, they don't have any? Then shut up and go watch My Name is Earl.
- thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2sanction me with your army!
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/clips/
- Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5Actually, the British version of The Office is kinda boring...
- shortstack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6both are funny, but both funny for wholely different reasons. the nbc version is more drama filled than the brit version, and the brit version isn't as story driven. i LOVE both of them, and i think the idea of "webisodes" is great.
- thepreacha619, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1needs a fullscreen.
- aplardi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20They need to turn these into a podcast and put them on iTunes!
- reidypeidy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I second that, my internet is really slow and since they don't any controls for the flash, like more sites do, it just starts and stops every few seconds, it's really annoying, i would love to just download it.
- adodaro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5that would kind of complete my summer. I wish more shows did things like this...
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3how would they get their advertising money that way, when people could just skip through the commercial?
- SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They posted videos online for free for everyone to watch without DRM and you are demanding that they infect them with DRM and charge money for them?
If you really want to watch these on an ipod, there are ways to do it.
http://www.google.com/search?complete=1&hl=en&q=convert+flv+to+ipod+video&btnG=Google+Search - KAMI_no_kodomo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@SmeRndmGy
No a PODCAST in DRM free & cost nothing. Only you can download it automatic (whit iTunes & other software) and watch it when you want where you want.
In anny way. I can't see it. I have flash. I see the bar, I hear sond. I don't see an image. When yes. Once again some crappy company desided to net test with Linux.
So please someone... Some download link possible? - SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wouldn't play on my firefox either for some reason. Try it in opera, that played it for me.
- KAMI_no_kodomo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@SmeRndmGy
No that dusn't work here. So I still can't see annything....
- thepreacha619, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2wait, they arent even like 2 mins. long! they need to add 100 more to even make it worth it.
- loup, on 10/12/2007, -1/+102 minute episodes are good, especially since they're stuck in the webpage, I know I wouldn't want to sit here and watch a 22 minute episode in that flash player
- thepreacha619, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2no, there need to b more than two 2 min. episodes.......
- jeru48, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Worth it? They're free. Making a 100 more would be great, but you can't complain to much on something that's free. I agree they could be better, but we've only seen 2 of them....
- BauskiBruhva, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8has anyone noticed that these aren't funny?
- onetruetweedle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Those were hilarious. Awesome job, NBC. Now do a better job with online video presentation for your other shows.
- Strangers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1And that's Crufts.
:( - Teapots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think the second webisode is better than the first.
- sparkrainfir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i think it's a good idea to add supplemental material like this into shows; however these are kind of lacking something..
perhaps they can work this missing money theme into the next season or something... - boyinuk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Was that supposed to be funny? It lacked the wit and satire of The Office, making it just a very poor replica of Ricky Gervais' show. Seriously, as Teaboy posted -> http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/clips/
- dtbond, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Best US comedy show in a long time................
- mratomika, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2#1 Arrested Development . . .
But since we all know Fox screwed that up . . .
#1 The Office
- mratomika, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2#1 Arrested Development . . .
- rach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I know exactly what it's missing-- the background sounds of the office. Phones ringing, fax machines. um, phones. Anyway, adding them would really round out the webisodes, but maybe that wouldn't be worth the budget.
- othersomethings, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I thought that at first, but then I noticed the phone ringing, and what not in the second one. The first one was set in the conference room which would dampen the sounds outside the room, of course.
- pilzbury, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2is it just me...or anyone else not hearing any audio? I am on a mac and I tried 4 different browsers...none worked.
- pilzbury, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ok I rebooted...it works...weird.
- fishinjim, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I thought the Fed Ex commercial was hilarious.....seriously....at first i thought that was the show...
- SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dugg for free distribution of non-DRM infected TV episodes online. Finally these people are beginning to catch on.
- crispyart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's interesting that they're completely made for the person who's already a Office fan. I found that the four things I laughed at were all related to well-established things about the character. You'd think they'd try to use this opportunity to bring in new fans with more general jokes, which they're definitely capable of. Definitely my favorite comedy on tv with arrested development and the comeback gone.
- BlackPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I didn't know there was an American version of this show and what have you done? The whole thing seems fake. Before I get lots of replies telling me how much of a retard I am and that TV shows are infact fake, my point is the English version of the show actually feels like a real office enviroment and not some filming studio.
- CDNnewbie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0You definitely shouldn't base your decision of whether or not the NBC version of The Office is "fake"/good by these webisodes. They are just a weekly fix of the show during the summer hiatus for the addicted fans so that they don't implode. All naysayers should definitely bittorrent the season 2 episodes. They are class "A" funny.
- clownguyx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You are completely right in the sense the Brittish version has a more real feel to it. This one has definately been 'Americanized'. I was a big fan of the Brittish version and hated this new one at first, but now it is my favorite comedy on television. You just have to sort of let go of the Brittish version and not make the comparisons. Even though the characters are sort of the same, it almost feels like a completely different show.
Just my opinion though.
- jtrost, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Why is it that whenever someone mentions The Office it turns into a debate about which version is better? These discussions are starting to get repetitive and annoying.
- themarq, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wait a sec, conversations on the Internet are "repetitive and annoying?" I didn't see that coming.
