- TheWriteGuy, on 04/18/2008, -3/+20The problem with Microsoft's people is that they try TOO hard to be "cool" when they are, in fact, just not. It's obvious they have been over-compensating for their lack of cool.
Quite honestly, they would be better off not trying to be cool, and instead focusing on being straightforward and professional in how they present themselves amongst themselves and toward the public. Sure, they might be criticized for being "not cool" and "boring" but their public image would be far more respectable.

Im still looking for the windows 2000 launch keynote (preferably the whole thing) - I was at it (well simulcast by satellite to florida) but it was pretty sweet at the time, my favorite part was when they were showing off the number of operations a windows 2000 server could do and dropped a big curtain to show 400(maybe more) computers setup all performing operations as well...

Yes. People were douchebags with bad taste. But really, not any worse than they are now. The themes they adorn themselves with are a bit different, but people are just as materialistic, vain, shallow and greedy now as they were then.
