- ThinkFr33ly, on 04/09/2008, -0/+11This will be awesome. Like a verion of Mythbusters that goes after the big fish... ESP, Aliens, Intelligent Design.
I can't wait! - sjones71, on 04/10/2008, -0/+7If there is a god, this will get picked up.
Wait a minute.... - nandes, on 04/09/2008, -0/+6Take that you dispensers of woo!
- stellaralchemy, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4Excellent!
- Emy105, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Yes, yes, yes.
- AprilFollies, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Mythbusters is going after the Moon Hoax myth on April 25. Just a heads-up. - But go, Skeptologists!
- daveconz, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Good luck with production. Please make sure this is available in distant corners of the globe - I must have access to it!
- johnlauger, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Keep up the great work Steve and company!
- markentel, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2This is going to be fantastic. What I really dislike about 'supernatural' shows (apart from the name, because if it existed it would be natural, no?) is that their mission is essentially "We know there are [UFOs/Squatch/Ghosts], is this an instance of that phenomenon?" Whereas, this show will actually be asking "Is there any evidence for the claim being made?"
The idea is so crazy it just might work!! Plus, I've contacted my local Sasquatch & he promised to send out psychic energy to help the show get picked up, so you have that, too. - jim68, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2I'm a teacher and my kids can't wait to see this.
- HombreMoleculos, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2I am so tired of UFO's and Ghosts on Discovery and the History? Channel. This will be a breath of fresh air.
- bengoza, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1Oh please, oh please let this get picked up. I'm so sick of shows like America's Psychic Challenge and other credulous nonsense. Let there be at least one show on television that doesn't insult my intelligence.
- EdSG, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Thanks for the heads up! w00t!
- droddy, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Can't wait!
- CKava, on 04/13/2008, -0/+1Look at the popularity of mythbusters and pen&teller's *****- TV executives would be mad to pass this up! Though I may be a tiny bit biased ;)
Good luck to all involved! - saintgasoline, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1Wow, this is like the Dream Team of skepticism. I had been a big fan of most of these guys (and girl!) from their science and skepticism podcasts. Ironically, Yau-Man Chan, arguably the most famous of the group, was the only one I had never heard of before.
I think this would be a great addition to those networks like the History Channel or TLC that show all these psychic crap shows, if only because it could lead to spin-offs and little drama feuds between the two dueling shows, with each group making appearances on each other. Just think how hilarious it would be to have the Skeptologists barge in on the psychic kids show, wielding science and demonstrating the proper use of "ghost hunting" technology. - skepticality, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1Go skeptics... go!
- phronko, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1I just hope it doesn't go too far the other way, with "we know there are no [UFOs/bigfoot/ghosts]; let's look for stuff that supports what we already know." I mean, it's hard to do unbiased scientific research in an entertaining, digestible way, but I hope there is an attempt made. Like, we're all pretty sure that magnets aren't going to cure cancer, but if a properly controlled test shows that they do, that results shouldn't be ignored just because they are afraid of losing the "skeptic" label.
- Jallen3rd, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I am stuck in the bible belt of the US where people sometimes seem to have just slightly more teeth than IQ points. I really hope this show sees the light of day.
- klawsterfobia, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1Digg this
- Mjhavok, on 05/18/2008, -0/+1It would be a travesty if this show did not get picked up.
- theblandest, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Show PLEASE!!!!!!!
- UnBeguiled, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Michael Shermer, Steve Novella, and Yau-Man Chan? That's a holy trinity that will put the fear of science and reason into any true believer.
- seanut54, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1This, this I would get TV for.
- mokwepa, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1I sincerely hope this show is picked up and is a success. Rather depressingly, it seems our world is becoming increasingly anti-intellectual and irrational. Perhaps Survivor: Ellis Island or America's Most Pathetic Inventor can be bumped.
- angryscott, on 01/10/2009, -0/+0Please, someone, pick this show up. If you've ever listened to the SGU, or heard Phil interviewed, you know it will be entertaining. And we need shows like this to fight the woo crowd.
- AzDiverDave, on 11/11/2008, -0/+0TV needs more skeptical shows like this; there's way too much crap about Bigfoot, the Bermuda Triangle, and hauntings.
- PsyStat, on 12/12/2008, -0/+0IMHO, there *cannot* be too many shows like this. This sort of programming goes beyond entertainment and serves a major public-service role by promoting critical thinking in an accessible way. Just think how many blunders and missteps in information processing and decision-making -- in both routine daily activities as well as political and societal contexts -- could be avoided if more people were more adept at questioning widely held beliefs and separating evidence from bunk!
- Jayrot, on 07/22/2008, -1/+0If this show doesn't get picked up, it PROVES how deep the government conspiracies go.
If it does get picked up, they're simply in the pocket of big-Pharma.
