The Weather Channel plays Storm Stories and gardening tips all day, even if there's a severe weather event in progress. The History Channel has gone from 24/7 World War II, which was at least informative, to UFO's and ghost hunters. MTV doesn't even play music videos anymore. Local stations have a dismal lineup that starts with morning talk shows, moves into afternoon talk shows, then closes out the day with evening talk shows. Lame dramas like CSI and Lost are sprinkled in between. News networks have all become tickers since 9/11; celebrity gossip forms the headlines while real events are condensed down into one or two blurbs on that damn little ticker.

    But don't be so hasty to judge. If someone didn't watch the shows there wouldn't be any shows. So for each person you tell you use torrents, make sure to tell 2 others bad info - like bad port numbers - so their experience is crappy and they keep watching regular tv.

  • gurp13, on 05/20/2008, -3/+33That's a gross exaggeration. TV dramas (one hour episodes) are typically 48 minutes long. That yields 12 minutes of commercials. Time it sometime. Sitcoms are 22 minutes long with 8 minutes of commercials.
