- Technopundit, on 10/12/2007, -4/+79I though kids weren't allowed to go outdoors anymore.

... not with all of those terrorists on the loose. - kazem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+59Almost a Haiku, dude.
- chix0r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+54good idea, they should do it for the rest of the day, not just 3 hours to be more effective. The average lazy kid will just take a nap during the downtime.
- Tialys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37Rocko's Modern Life.
That show was teh *****! - NinjAlt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37Good job nick! POWER TO YOU! Now bring back all the old classics. Especially SNICK. Salute your Shorts, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Hey Dude, Clarissa Explains It All, Secret World of Alex Mack, (Original) All That, Pete and Pete, What else am I forgetting?

- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22I bet alot of kids just sat there waiting for the shows to come back.
- daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Why are you using the TV as a babysitter?
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18At least you have one to complain about.
- kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16they've done this for the last 3 years and i think its a great idea but when the remote is right there and you are more likely to have your finger closer to the channel up/down button rather than the off button, its difficult for kids to stop watching and being lazy.parents are a key part in the development of a healthy child and teaching them TV is ok to watch all day is not right.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Hey Dude!
Who else thought Melody was hot? - Anubis2051, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Doug, that was the best show.

Holy crap! I wish they'd bring that back. It used to be the highlight of my after-school TV watching. - zubi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11i dont know......

- artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Wow, I think Nickelodeon is feeling the Digg effect. Damn.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9*dives out of the way of the slime*
At least you didn't say water. - kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12INVADER ZIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angry Beavers too - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"the rest of the day is dedicated to coverage of the Get Healthy Challenge."
Just turned on Nick (also my name, yay) for the first time in 2 years... spongebob squarepants... that's coverage of the Get Health Challenge? - garyh84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Animaniacs and Rocko are considered 'classics' now? Holy ***** I'm old...
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the rustling of your tinfoil hat.
- insomniacdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Dude, playing the rain rocks, even if you aren't a kid.

New York City, New York State 10108 - haxx4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6At least find an article on it, no digg.
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Doug.
Yes, Doug. - Abjure, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Why don't they do this permanently? Nickelodeon has sucked ever since MTV acquired it. Let it die already.
- BWhaler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Kudos to Nickelodeon.
As a parent, their brand just shot through the ceiling in my book. - Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4All they have to do is turn on "nick 2" and watch the same shows the aired 3 hours ago.
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5davidkeithjones: no, YOU'RE an idiot. Am I correctly your spelling or calling you an idiot? You decide!
- spookshowbaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dating myself...
You Can't Do That On Television
Mr. Wizard
Inspector Gadget
Danger Mouse
Pinwheel
Muppet Babies
Animaniacs - Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Better yet, parents should block Nickelodeon on their TV's altogether. Most of what's on there is mind-numbing garbage.
- MasterGrief, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Agreed. I think it'd be best if Nickelodeon blocked ALL it's broadcasts--the network's only purpose these days is to get kids ready to watch MTV when they get older.
- booc0mtaco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is horrible. Corporations are baby-sitting. And kids have to make the adult choices their parents should be making. I am apalled.
But, if they parents won't parent, then good on Nick for stepping up to the plate. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3too bad my lil boy watches G4TV all the time!...
wish they do that in playboy channel
" Turn of the TV, Get Up , Stop playing with your dinky, zip your pants, and go outside " - yensed, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Thank Gawd! Its about time Nickaloden did this. Parents have been wanting to tell there kids to go outside and play for years! But never knew how...
/Sarcasim - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3MTV and Nickelodeon have always been owned by the same company. In the 80's they were bought by Viacom, if that's what you mean, Abjure. But that was 20 years ago.
- Satanael, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6That would make me burn about 100 calories as I frantically run away from the television.
- flameboy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+14Does anyone else find this stupid? I dont think its the broadcasting network's job to tell me or my kids when to watch TV. I hope the kids find other shows in that timeslot that they can watch.
- omaryak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The Nicktoons network on digital cable & satellite shows some classic stuff. I think I saw Rocko's on there once. Animaniacs too.
- Echelon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This isnt the first time they've done it. Honestly, last time i watched nick and this happened, i changed the channel. I'm not arsed to get off my arse at the whim of corporate america. I reserve my right to be a lazy ass.
- LazyBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2its viacom still the devil.
- ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Flameboy, it also promotes the channel as one that is concerned about kids and in turn is concerned about what kids watch. I bet this reassures parents that this is a good channel to show their kids.
But avoiding any assumptions about ratings, it's just Nickelodeon's way of promoting a healthy lifestyle. Can't someone do something good without being scolded in some way or another? - Crazychipmunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would have been equally as happy if they just had a black background with white writing that said "Stop being fat! Go play or you will get a build up of cholesterol! Eat that, fattie!"
But thats just me. -
