- bebop717, on 10/11/2007, -1/+34The character designs suck ass.
- crichton101, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22I love cartoon network, they've made alot of shows I really love, but this looks like *****.
- joser916, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18WTF was that i pray to god that this is fake please dont tell me that there gonna look like that!!!!!!!!!!
- TheFatSandRat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15Oh man. "Kid-friendly plot lines", "Interacting with humans in exciting and humorous ways"... and the animation style is terrible.
This is another case of half-hour advertisements. True, the original series was as well, but those were *nostalgic* half-hour advertisements. And those aren't robots in disguise in that image... They are sickening, lumpy, modern-cartoon style pieces of garbage. I'd almost rather have this in japanimation style than that way. - slicky803, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15What's with the goofy exaggerated angles and anime poses?
- Tostito, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16im in ur series messin wit ur transformers
- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16And people thought that Michael Bay ruined Transformers. Honestly, this just took it and ***** all over it, then wrapped it up in the same ***** style that all of Cartoon Networks cartoons have nowadays.
- halosniper7, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8me to. i loved beast wars. being 15, i had to start at beast wars and work my way back.
- Autrix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I disagree with the new idea of "Cars to Blobs" instead of "Cars to Bots"
- Tvirus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9It makes me sick to look at what transformers have become. Remeber there last series of "got to get all the mini bot.." crap. They turned a simple show into ***** pokemon.
- Erfman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Set in Detroit? You think the Decepticons are gonna be involved in drive by shootings?
- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8I'd take Michael Bay over this any day.
- nashpreds99, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Once again Cartoon Network makes a crappy looking cartoon. The pic alone looks like ass. If they had a channel that played just 80's cartoons like the original Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, He-Man, etc., it would help put Cartoon Network under. Cartoon Network cartoons are the absolute worst looking cartoons out today. If I had kids, I wouldn't subject them to that garbage. Keep in mind, I'm not referring to Adult Swim stuff. Just the ADD crud for kids.
- Zippo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Oh god no. We need the Matrix of Leadership... this is clearly our darkest hour.
- Gotar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Loonatics anyone?
- SubtleMurder, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7What a way to rape my childhood.
- Kronos6948, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I wish they'd give it the treatment that they gave Batman: the Animated Series. That's probably the only way I'd accept that type of animation.
- nerdvernacular, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Is it just me, or has children's entertainment been dumbed down beyond repair? Not that 80's cartoons were at all enlightening, but the dialogue in these modern abominations are atrocious. Throw in the laziest animation style possible to cut on production costs, arguing for a "stylish" look. Mix well with plotlines and character development that only a coked out rhesus monkey might put together, and you have yourself a 21st century cartoon. Utter rubbish. Why do animation studios talk down to children as if they were only capable of 7 word vocabularies? One of the better aspects of older animation was the maturity certain characters were endowed with. Nowadays, all characters sound like petulant, hormonally imbalanced speed-freaks, whose vernacular is derived solely from Mountain Dew commercials.
- AnDDean, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5It's ridiculous!
- daRoach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5/Shakes fist
- chuckd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Oh well, there goes my childhood... I mean seriously that artwork looks like some 7 year old scribbled some crap on a piece of toilet paper before he wiped his ass. What's next? A new Thundercats live action movie with a lame new-age pokemon style cartoon to follow? I miss old school cartoon art work.
- Optimaximal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Wait a sec... He's a ***** Fire Engine again... When will they learn!!!
- jenzo, on 10/11/2007, -7/+11Michael Bay stay away!
- wizalt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Does Optimus Prime have a soul patch and sideburns??
- daRoach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4As long as they keep the transforming sound I'll be ok. But if not... so help me. /Shakes fist
- deepmenace, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4oh dear...this line is the kicker for me:
"Kids love the surprise of ‘More Than Meets the Eye'"
i can see this being "Winx Club" for boys, Saturday morning mindless drivel with absolutely no adult friendly components. a *real* missed opportunity - ChileanGoD, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5wtf... Who own the transformers copyrights?? Why are they licesing every bozo that wants to come out with a series?
- Sashwan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Ok please don't destroy my happy memories of Transformers G1....
- astrotrain, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Sipping in Gin and Oil... got my mind on my Energon, and my Energon on my mind....
- bigern75, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It will never be like the original cartoon.
- nodde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Ah man the new art style sucks!!!
Posted about it on the forum anyway..

- estvir, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I hope it's as good as the original.
- funkydopeloven, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2didn't see this one coming
/sarcasm
sweet :) - bigTimer14785, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"Based in Detroit", Oh great..............
- MonkeyMonk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2>>reaches for 'emergency' bottle of Tylenol-3 (with Coedine!), hoping to preemptively erase the memory of his childhood memories of G1 getting corn-holed that the picture in the article is suddenly stirring...
The movie had better not suck. - beggersfunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Oh man it looks crappy. Nothing beat the old school Transformers cartoon even though is doesn't look that great now but back those day at lease they try hard to make it like the original toys.
- daRoach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I hope you really mean "Batman The Animated Series" and not this crap "The Batman" I have seen... it makes me so angry /Shakes fist
- Beatmiser, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4I hope it's as good as GI Joe Sigma 6----
No wait, that raped my childhood. - vinhcenthao, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Why are all cartoon re-makes destroying our childhood? First The Batman now this :@
- DeusNova, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2It's not even close to imitating anime, that's the sad part. Mecha animes actually focus on the design, this is just a pile of *****. =/
- Majora26, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2... The transformers were so awesome in the old cartoons and beast wars... but this? What the heck is this?
- astrotrain, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Children's entertainment (Saturday Morning Cartoons), have all gone over seas... cheaper to make. Thats why most of the cartoons on TV anymore have that Anime look to it, and everyone has big brown eyes. Thanks to the FCC they scared all the cartoon companies away and threatened the major networks that THEY MUST show at least three hours of educational program on Saturday morning, and then you have the Parental Activist group who agreed to it. Now all your major stuiods HannaBarbera have fled to cable, and we don't see no more Dyno Mutt and Blue Falcon, Speed Buggy, Hong Kong Phooey, etc.
- itanshi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Meh, transformers is still running in Japan, there's a dozen continuities I believe. A new one would a far cry from those and now i see the picture, I'm appalled. Super Deformed? If its not Japanese written, super deformed will not work.
- metalgod79, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Good God, Between the new movie and this... Can they bastardize my childhood anymore?
- Matri, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Seriously. These make Bay's redesign look like a masterpiece.
- 0oo0oo0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1sigh* this is what happens when they make a movie of somthing we like, QQ the "animated shows based off of every single movie" days of the 90's has returned.
- allisonaxe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It seems, to me, that American cartoon artists are desperately trying to find a distinctive animation style of their own which is visually appealing but isn't a rip off of anime-style, which has become popular with the young the world over. unfortunately, we keep ending up going back to "Samurai Jack." it worked that once, because the writing was well-done and the animation style was new and unusual. it fit. But they keep doing it, and it just doesn't capture any appealing sense.
a lot of fans i know were excited about this because it would be the first American-made TF show since...... what, G1? (beast wars / beast machines was done by Mainframe, which is in Canada.) after having seen what CN is capable of doing to it, i say: GIVE IT BACK TO THE JAPANESE!!! - gonzo1773, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If the show is anything like that poster they are pimping on the article, I'm boycotting cartoon network. That is utter ***** which pales in comparison to the 80's cartoons.
Speaking of which, is there a special edition DVD set of the original transformers series? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If you're a grown man and you're excited about a cartoon please rethink your life. These shows are for children.
