- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38I enjoy most of it (Hiro for the win!), but there's something that happened last night.
Without giving anything away, what politician is dumb enough to go to a major bad guy's place, hook up with a woman, and *not* think there might be cameras?
I mean - duh. - jblade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27If you guys have not seen Heroes yet, your missing out. The show is Awesome.
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31John Madden keeps me AWAY from NBC.
- ryanownsu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28Hiro goes from nerd, to bad ass futuristic ninja! :D
- opethlike, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25The end to last nights "Heros" gave me a chub. I am so stoked about this show.
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Was he (not going to say the name so I won't spoil it for anyone) carrying a sword?
- cbrian, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23I don't really like many shows on NBC, but The Office rocks. I look forward to that all week.
- n3mi5y5, on 10/12/2007, -7/+24Heroes FTW
- dext3r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Madden is large oaf who forgets what hes saying mid sentence.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Apparently the type that rejects his ability to fly... I mean why the hell wouldn't you want to fly?!
- shanemc13, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16@TheBarge
I think that Peter's power is to gain whoever's power he is around. ( He flies when around his brother and see's the future when around Issac. ) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Lost? LAWL! Talk about a show where they don't know where they are going with it. And the whole blonde chick thing... She has an alter ego that is unleashed in situations when she or someone she loves is threated or in situations of extreme emotional intensity. Sort of like the hulk, just more sexy...and less green..
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14HAHAHA John, that is almost EXACTLY what I was screaming at the tv while watching that scene.
What a moron. - TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Ok wait, so remove the sex and it'll be ok? I guess it's fine for your kids to see someone who's had the top of their head cut off, or a blood-covered room with someone who's been cut in half at the waist. But darnit, no sexual content, that's not safe for the children! Please, think of the children!
- gr8one, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Diggity on The Office... What a great show.
- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It turns out their plans to target "Puppies" and "single one legged mothers with autism" didn't pan out with the advertisers.
Which is too bad for the puppies - I thought that was the only reason that "What About Jim" was even on the air. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The "blonde chick" seems more psychotic than super powered, at least so far.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Why do people say that a show with cliffhangers is trying to be Lost? That's total crap. Shows have been doing cliffhangers for YEARS. It's a common tactic to get people to watch next weeks episode and has nothing to do with Lost.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@shanemc13
I was hinting at that without throwing out a big spoiler for those that haven't seen last night's episode. - drlha, on 10/12/2007, -10/+18If you're watching deal or no deal it clearly means that you're a moron. I mean - come on! :)
- PabloIV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Thing is, there's just no way that you can make a super-hero show for the masses without copying powers from super-heroes that already exist. I mean Marvel alone has thousands of characters with powers ranging from Cosmic Blasts and FTL Surfboard-based space travel, to a guy whose main power is to look like a chicken. It's all been done.
Considering that the show is trying to appeal to the larger masses and not just to those of us who spend $50 every other week at our local comic's store, they have to go for interesting powers. IMHO, and to their credit, besides the whole flight thing, they've grabbed a good set of what most would call second-tier powers.Mind-Reading, Teleportation/Time Control, Super-Regeneration, Power mimicry, Dual-Personality and such. I think they're really trying, and the result so far has been great not since Galactica's pilot mini-series, have I been this excited about a new show. - KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@yttrx
I see where you're coming from, but I think the characters seem more human than your typical comic book character - KnightWhoSaysNi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@shanemc13
Peter is Kirby from Super Smash Brothers.
You know, the critter who eats other characters and gets their powers. - shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I can't believe this article didn't mention the office or my name is earl once! I wouldn't know if shows like ugly betty is good, but surely it can't beat out the greatness of the office!
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@antoniojvr
sure looked like it - boogachamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4But its Bob Saget!!!!!!
- nathanchase, on 05/06/2009, -2/+7...save the world...
...save the cheerleader... - PabloIV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Not to out-dork you here, but it looks more like Mimic than Rogue. I don't think any physical contact is required, and the person who he copies, as far as I can see, is non-the-wiser when he does, VERY unlike Rogue. Either way I think it's an awesome power, Mimic has always been one of my favorite characters in all of Marvel and I think if they do it right Peter could be the second best character on the show. Hiro will always be first, specially if he turns into super future Ninja dude.
- converge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i've been watching it too. it's not bad but not extraordinary either. it definitely has the potential to be the best show on TV if they can execute it better. however, each show's ending has been kick-ass.
- bloodylip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Agreed, except for the Deal or No Deal part. 1 vs 100 might be interesting. I always love a good quiz show. NBC is the only network television I watch, with the exception of Lost, and, frankly, I'm ready to ditch that show.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I think everyone missed something even more important about the end of last nights episode. Did anyone notice Peter's (the political guys brother) eyes at the very end where it showed scenes from the next episode? I don't think his ability is flying, I think it's something else all together.
- rand21althor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4To JohnHummel:
I don't know if what's going on now is changing the future, but, remember the second episode, where Hiro ended up in November, just past the elections? The headline of the newspaper stated that Nathan had won in a landslide victory, in the election. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This really isn't the most kid friendly show.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@torifile
You've obviously never heard any of Bob Saget's comedy bits. I've heard him on the Opie and Anthony show and he's definitely not untalented, but his bits definitely wouldn't make it to broadcast TV.
NSFW, but funny:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10eGCsPiEH8 - Crossmenjeff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4they haven't cast sylar yet. They just purchased the rest of the season. And they are shooting the episodes currently
- Cerebral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Who cares it's a really good show. I watched the first one and must say that it is interesting.
I'd wrather steal british shows that are good then come up with some other crap. - TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well 1vs100 actuallly isn't bad, "stolen" from British TV or not. I'm just getting so bored with Deal or No Deal. I removed it from my Tivo season pass last week. All the episodes of DoND are just getting to be the same thing every time. I dunno though, I could almost watch it for the models.
- mt066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3FTA: "the key 18-49 year-old demographic that advertisers covet for the past two years"
Am I missing something? They have only been 'coveting' this demographic for 2 years now? What happened 2 years ago? - KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, I want to see what Sylar looks like
- TheEgghead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Apologies if you're making a joke, because I thought it was strange sentence construction too. English would be so much better with parens.
The problem is a dangling modifier. Its supposed to read like this (I think):
[talking about NBC] which has finished in fourth-place (with the key 18-49 year-old demographic that advertisers covet) for the past two years - Mikecol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm sorry.
- rand21althor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3NBC has some great shows on, right now. Deal or No Deal, My Name is Earl, The Office, and Heroes. I especially love the latter three of those four. Heroes just keeps getting better.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3As I told shanemc13, I was hinting at that without throwing out a big spoiler for those that haven't seen last night's episode :)
- LMN8R, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21 vs. 100 is pretty interesting, Bob Saget is pretty funny, but the questions in that first episode were ridiculously easy. If they're going to do it multiple choice, they should at least get some decently hard questions halfway through the game.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2RTFA. It mentions Studio 60. I like the show, personally, but here's what the article says:
[Studio 60] debuted to strong ratings but has since slipped in the rankings.
Although the show is loved by many critics, some think that the subject matter of "Studio 60" may be too narrowly focused to appeal to a wide audience. - TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's already been officially stated that BSG isn't moving to NBC.
- toxicredm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@vypergts:
Heroes does have a rhythm, and that is to reveal things slowly over time, keep things at least somewhat of a mystery. If everything were revealed in the first episode there would be no reason to watch, it would just be Hiro "saving the day" every week or something like that. That kind of show has been done to death. - mt066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh yeah that makes more sense....just a wierd way of writing it. I honestly thought it was the other way. I guess that's why they teach you how to diagram sentences in middle school.
- mutatron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wasn't it the other way around?
- rand21althor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's great seeing Bob Saget again! (Not to mention, Ken Jennings is in the mob, at this point). I was doubtful about this show, but watched it last Friday. It is an interesting format. And a new game show is needed as, I would agree, Deal or No Deal is becoming stale.
