- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+53wow. Dinosaurs was pretty ahead of its time.
- gl77, on 06/05/2009, -0/+35Forgot about Roseanne. The whole last season was weird with the Conner family winning the lottery and living it up, turns out, everything was just a story made up by Roseanne who was writing a book about how she wanted her life to turn out. It's revealed at the end that Dan died, they are still poor and everything you know about the characters is actually all wrong. really a good series finale, but quite the *****.
- BeShirtHappy, on 06/04/2009, -0/+33I loved the "Newhart" finale.
- jordanlgta, on 06/05/2009, -0/+24Dinosaurs Series Finale final three minutes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPTUA_wdp78 - mulletman13, on 06/05/2009, -0/+19Why is Twin Peaks not on this list?
I mean-- the series was completely quirky and unexpected... but the last episode just left everything so open ended, and sad.
Oh, and like 6 main characters died. - pyroguy56011, on 06/05/2009, -0/+19I can't wait for the finale of Lost. *****, it had better deliver.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+19That Dinosaurs ending is depressing as hell. I kind of felt bad after watching it.
- nahsrocketeer75, on 06/04/2009, -1/+15Tough to top St. Elsewhere and the snow globe, even though I can't say I very much liked it.
- aargh01, on 06/05/2009, -0/+12Nothing will ever be weirder than the ending episode of The Prisoner.
- BLyday, on 06/05/2009, -1/+12That Family Matters ending was really stupid. Dinosaurs however was sad...didn't know it ended that way.
- HopeForTomorrow, on 06/05/2009, -0/+11I think the latest season finale of "House M.D." could be put up there. Completely blew my mind AND depressed me.
- MacEnvy, on 06/05/2009, -0/+10I was thinking about that show the other day. Odd how it never made it to syndication - it was quite popular at the time.
- jordanlgta, on 06/05/2009, -0/+10The first episode of Seinfeld did not open with them in jail. They were in a different coffee shop and a waitress had a lot of lines and was perhaps going to be a big character, but that didn't happen. One of the first jokes Seinfeld ever did on the show was about George's button being in "no mans land" on his shirt. They then do the same thing at the very end of the last episode (not counting the credits stand-up routine).

- spookyttws, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8I never watched either "Life on Mars" versions, but the end of the American version sounds awesome (well, had I been a fan, it sounds awful, but as an outsider it seems awesome.)
I remember Family Matters getting less and less realistic, with Stephan and the teleporting and the like, but putting Steve in space? The writers really didn't care any longer at that point. - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8you are right...after sitting through an hour long clip show from 8-9, I suer as ***** did not expect the highly anticipated fianle to also be pretty much just a clip show.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8> "I would ask why the father in the 'Dinosaurs' clip owned a wax fruit company..."
He didn't. He was a tree pusher for the WESAYSO Corporation, which built the wax fruit factory. - Sryden42, on 06/05/2009, -2/+10We don't talk about that.
- spookyttws, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8I would ask why the father in the "Dinosaurs" clip owned a wax fruit company, but I feel that's not the most far out element of that show.
- rwbrinso, on 06/04/2009, -0/+8Wow. I just had to remember that I actually watched Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Now I hate myself.
- RatatRatR, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7I wanted to ***** the ***** out of The Nanny.
- rand21althor, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7Dugg for Dinosaurs and Quantum Leap
- indubitably, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7i felt that the final episode was a slap in the face to all the prior episodes. the finale made the characters seem evil spirited by having them make fun of a fat guy getting robbed. sure, the entire series was built around their character flaws but there was a certain charm behind it all. the final episode did not depict the characters that i grew to know and love.
- bone625, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7God I loved that show.
- wrzhydr, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6It was...***** horrible. It's every fan's worse nightmare to see a finale that ends with "Oh, he was ***** dreaming..." I liked the show because it was different but I felt ***** cheated after the finale. Really guys, that's the best you could come up with?
- HouseofEl, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6Believe it or not there was TV before 1985. The Prisoner was one of the best shows of the 60s and doesn't get nearly enough of the recognition it should.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prisoner - david4041, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6"“The Bob Newhart Show,” which had him as a dentist."
Wasn't he a shrink? Wasn't his friend the dentist?
IMO "Newhart" had the best series finale ever. - Soup4Brains, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6Yes, quite the *****. I've actually been meaning to rewatch it, much like you would a movie with a similar twist.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6The ending to Dinosaurs wasn't bizarre, it was just incredibly depressing. Man, what a great show, though.
- Juni7069, on 06/05/2009, -4/+10Seinfeld's finale was awesome. It was so unexpected.
- badqat, on 06/04/2009, -1/+7I'm just shocked that they lump William Daniels (from St. Elsewhere) as nothing more than Mr. Feeny from “Boy Meets World” and don't mention his contribution to Knight Rider.
- Slices, on 06/04/2009, -3/+9I wasn't that big on the Sopranos, but what they did on that last scene there... that was genius man! Cool article, I like how it includes the clips.
- SolitaireRose, on 06/05/2009, -1/+7They didn't understand the ending of Quantum Leap?
Sam discovered it was he was the one controlling his leaps, so he fixed Als' life and kept leaping through time forever.
IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, PEOPLE!!! - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -2/+7you spelled crappiest wrong.
(and tell me...what was weirdabout what was essentially a CLIP show finale...one that followed an hour long CLIP show!) - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5The Dinosaurs finale just bummed me the ***** out. Thanks Digg.
- deadasdisco, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5somehow i watched almost every roseanne when i was younger, but completely missed the final season. someone told me that they had won the lottery and all kinds of crazy ***** happened, and that it wasn't even funny, more like a drama, and i just couldn't believe it. so i went back and watched them and it blew my mind, and i also got to show my friends, who said the last season was dumb, that it was actually pretty genius. i love roseanne, and pretty much everything else on nick at nite except the ***** nanny.
- isayre020888, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5I still remember the Dinosaurs finale to this day. It is a very depressing thing to see when you are six-years-old.
- sacramentalist, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5Not exactly. God was involved, but Sam realized his calling was the leaping, and he didn't need the ties to the future to keep helping people. So he fixed Al's life (breaking the connection to the future) and kept leaping indefinitely.
- Kosh, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4I am not a number, I am a free man!
- wpc33, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4I've seen it all again on dvd, and it's as good as I remembered.
- pygmy, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Jason Calacanis looooooooves Audible
- OrdinaryPanda, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Quantum Leap's ending was a sucker punch when it first aired. Depressing, after all that journey to never get home =(
- thestranger, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4I loved Dinosaurs as a kid, and I remember it was off the air for a bit and came back and I was so excited. Then out of nowhere it ended again and the last episode was so strange/ sad, and it came out of nowhere (there wasn't even a build up and I had no concept of cancellation or that the show had been canceled) it really made me feel depressed and I was only 10.
- wettestwillie, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Since I can't access the site, I don't know if they mentioned Rosanne or not. But its hard to top a series where the final episode shows that the entire series was a lie.
- Hellahulla, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4I never liked it at all. But I do find it strange they'd make the finale a clip show. Who likes clip shows? They're lazy and always a let down.
- wautrey, on 06/05/2009, -1/+5This list is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS without the finale to "The Prisoner."
- str3ama, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Dinosaurs was eerily depressing.... I still remember that ending, the shows ratings had dipped down and possibly because the "not a mamma" and "gotta love me" phrases had been played out appearing on everything from plates to T-shirts. The baby dinosaur even had a song. But the show wasn't meant for kids, and they constantly made fun of that - talking about how just because a show has puppets parents will allow their kids to watch it thinking it's for kids.
Anyways I'd also nominate Oz .. the whole ending leads up to this weird finale that doesn't really have a conclusion and raises more questions than it answers (probably the same for Lost). - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Wow, depressing. I remember really enjoying this show when I was very young (and pissing my pants every time the dad's boss was on screen).
I'm glad I never saw that episode back then. - alanVolta, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4I think it has an awesome ending, but yeah it's really depressing
- MaddieCakes, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Someone commented in the article about Carnivale.
I'm still pissed about that ending, 'cause the show got canceled. There was supposed to be more.
I will hate HBO FOREVER for that. Dirty sumbitches. -
