- RealmDown, on 06/18/2009, -13/+90Dave is cool guy, and has three times as much class as Palin and Olive Garden put together.
- yocouchdigga, on 06/20/2009, -8/+70Palin needs to go away now.
- seltaeb4, on 06/20/2009, -5/+64Palin's been milking this for two weeks now.
- NJSlacker, on 06/19/2009, -4/+26"50 people" at the protest? a previous report said 15, and they only 10 or so were vocal enough to get on TV.
- avgbody, on 06/20/2009, -0/+21Actually, I think he's actually getting funnier. He is getting to that grumpy old man stage, where he is starting to not care what others think --- making him more hilarious.
- Theuderic, on 06/18/2009, -4/+25Top Reasons more protesters didn't show up:
"We expected more people but the Iran protests used up all our tweets."
"Our Los Angeles Chapter had a prior engagement." - tomato1324, on 06/20/2009, -5/+22leave it to letterman to make fun of the morons that dont like him
- Sandhog, on 06/20/2009, -1/+17Never mind the psycho ICBM wielding dictator in North Korea. Let's whine about the old man who says mean things about inept US politicians. I guess I need to adjust my priorities.
- Hetman, on 06/18/2009, -4/+18I think it is pretty funny that Dave used to be a liberterian and even endorsed Ron Paul in the 80s. Most of the people I heard bashing him in other threads were self described liberterians themselfs.
- waynefoolx, on 06/20/2009, -2/+16I love Conan, but Letterman is still the godfather of comedy.
- Zomgondo, on 06/20/2009, -2/+14I joined the "Fire David Letterman" Facebook group just to watch these folks in action. It's hilarious how many advertisers they think have pulled their ads... and then it turns out to be *****.
Reality: they may not know what it is, but they've heard of it! - archiesteel, on 06/20/2009, -0/+11What Imus said was not a joke, and it was quite offensive. Also, there was no misunderstanding about what was actually said (unlike with Letterman's joke).
By the way, getting "hounded" over this has increased his ratings. - junaeroplane, on 06/20/2009, -6/+16in america people protest against jokes aired on tv.
- bluesman3535, on 06/20/2009, -3/+13When I saw the 'protesters', some with southern accents, that summed it up. Hired out of towners on a Big Brother directive of some sort, like a trailer park Dirty Dozen. Pathetic. Really, if you are going to send people to make a statement, why would you send people with 70 IQ's to NYC? New Yorkers are very street wise and savvy in general. This was more humorous than I expected. Dave did us a service in showing who will take orders from behind the scenes clandestine idiots.
- FreddieD, on 06/20/2009, -1/+10Probably the same people who were counting the teabaggers.
- depro9, on 06/20/2009, -7/+15So they payed a bunch of fakes to act all outraged. Sad pathetic transparent cretins who look dumber every day.
- christoast, on 06/20/2009, -1/+9These people have nothing better to do then protest letterman?
- tacoman359, on 06/20/2009, -0/+8While what he said was pretty derogatory, I would be willing to place a bet that the average intelligence/open-mindedness of people in the states that formerly made up the confederacy is less than that of the people who live in states which used to be part of the union.
- bluesman3535, on 06/20/2009, -1/+9I agree, Bronx people are at least more intelligent than what actually showed up. But they don't come as cheap, and they don't get brainwashed that easily. So it was what it was, a southern transplanted trailer park festival on a retarded rampage--the nation chuckles.
- footodors, on 06/20/2009, -5/+13Palin's stock, if she had much anyway, is now down where the ants and beetles crawl!
She's being ridiculous! - QQMore, on 06/20/2009, -3/+11You hear the one where I ***** your mom? Oh wait, that's not a joke.
True story. - nertil1, on 06/20/2009, -6/+13Just let it go already people, it was just a joke. Plus he already apologized for saying it, even though he shouldn't have in the first place.
- SolitaireRose, on 06/20/2009, -2/+9That's because self-described libertarians are usually Republicans who don't want people to know they are Republicans.
As opposed on internet libertarians who are usually the IT guys who wants to smoke pot and not pay taxes. - Koushiro, on 06/20/2009, -1/+8Who? I don't know who your talking about. In fact this whole thing is getting kind of odd.
It's like my memory is trying to forget something or someone unimportant. - Travelsonic, on 06/20/2009, -1/+8Letterman apologized, Palin accepted his apology.
Can't we get on with our lives already?
Jesus ***** christ, I don't oppose groups protesting, but attacking Letterman for things that have been settled between the two parties in question..... something like this is nothing compared to the other far more pressing issues out there. Move the ***** on! - EddiePotato, on 06/20/2009, -1/+8He's a pretty reasonable guy.
- humperdeath, on 06/20/2009, -2/+9Dave's always been cool, and that means controversial. I just feel sorry for all those protesters outside, because, you know, they have no job.
- shauncullen, on 06/20/2009, -1/+7These people are douches, David, giant ***** douches.
- Bloodweaver, on 06/20/2009, -0/+6He apologized to her for her misunderstanding the joke and taking offence. He never apologized for telling the joke. The article is completely wrong on that point. He said that joke is no different than all the others he has made throughout his career. It is just a trivial thing, but such is just about all entertainment news.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+7http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/18/o ...
Or do a search on news.google.com, the 28%'ers fake outrage was all for not. - inactive, on 06/20/2009, -0/+6and lowered taxes.
- SolitaireRose, on 06/20/2009, -0/+6I have. I've read the stats that show where the vast majority of school failing, drop out rates and teen pregnancy. Wanna guess where they are concentrated?
- nepidae, on 06/20/2009, -6/+11Bristol is a slut with nice *****.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -0/+5it looks like you got buried to *****...
- gn02256676, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5http://lateshow.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/video_p ...
- Meg2020, on 06/20/2009, -0/+4I didn't know Sara Palin had a Digg account.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5I think this protest is pretty much all they have. Sad, and funny.
- ronintetsuro, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5So one can assume there will be a corresponding protest about the protest jokes?
Some Americans are such pussies. - kingofinternet, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5there were 15 protesters, the rest were media, gawkers, and sal the stockbroker and richard christy.
- spookyttws, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5These people need to stick their hands as far up their asses as they can and pull that stick out. Then they can go out and actually find something to do that's not a dumb waste of everyone's time.
- crossmr, on 06/20/2009, -0/+4Yeah heaven forbid they get out and protest or react to something that actually ***** matters.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5Seriously, Conan should have cashed in on this and sent Triumph to that protest.
- Bloodweaver, on 06/20/2009, -1/+5The church itself was created by man.
- mcsenget, on 06/20/2009, -1/+4I think that's pretty awesome.
- Akaricloud, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3So even though I watch his show and laugh, he isn't funny?
Huh. I guess that makes... sense? - tacoman359, on 06/20/2009, -2/+5Oh, yea, cause you're an expert on it.
- EddiePotato, on 06/20/2009, -2/+5You can't stop him, he's too insane!
- EddiePotato, on 06/20/2009, -1/+4fish sticks
- tomato1324, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3and thats why i watch him all the time
