- kezia1, on 11/20/2008, -61/+142Digg me up if you still like the newest season of Heroes.
(I do!) - TheGeek27, on 11/20/2008, -12/+72A guy being electocuted looks like another guy being electrocuted? AMAZING!
- oliversan, on 11/20/2008, -4/+57I love Elle. Just had to put that out there.
- ozymandias2012, on 11/19/2008, -18/+47Isn't the whole series pretty much a ripoff?
- awtripp, on 11/20/2008, -6/+34Whatever. There are a lot of "rip-offs" or "borrowings" or "homages" in pretty much everything. What I liked about Heroes when it first came on was not the originality per se, but how they executed the super hero genre for a TV series. If you like super hero ***** - that's why you're watching it - not because it is an original idea.
- freezerburn666, on 11/20/2008, -3/+29elle and claire holding hands... we need more if it
- dingedarmor, on 11/19/2008, -5/+31This isn't the only one--season 1 had sooooo much Watchmen 'borrowing' that I thought they had renamed the graphic novel.
- youliveinfear, on 11/20/2008, -3/+19I've been a fan of Heroes since day one but it's getting ridiculous. Writing and acting is at times pathetic, and the plot is like swiss cheese, and at times feels very rushed. I still watch every Monday but it's going downhill fast. S2 started out poorly as well and got much better later but so far this season is a mess.
- CCB0x45, on 11/20/2008, -2/+17I agree season 2 was better towards the end although the actual end was pretty retarded.
Heroes writers:
"What if we make him come back from the future... but.. get this... he will be an evil version of himself...."
"How will they know who the evil version is??"
"Give him a scar... or if its a girl, give her darker hair."
"Genious, print it!" - SketchaMPM, on 11/20/2008, -1/+15If only they could produce more episodes like 'Company Man'. HRG is badass.
- MaTT2011, on 11/20/2008, -3/+15Yes, yes it is. Its like someone came along and said, "hey, comics arent cool....lets just jack all the cool ideas from them for our own gain! Why bother to use characters that already exist when we can create our own mediocre versions of them?"
Seriously, heros was interesting the first season.....and then it should have ended, there was no need to keep going. Now its just yet another mediocre TV show. I really try to like it now but these characters are a joke.
For example, the last episode, Electragirl is doing the whole, "I hate you! You killed my father!" thing but then the person she hates more than anything else in the world absorbs her power (through.... empathy? what?), and all of a sudden its "hey lets make out! Good thing i conveniently burned your shirt off" time
huh? really? c'mon, REALLY?

Sorry, but this show if filled with stupid. - Sornos, on 11/19/2008, -3/+15I noticed the "homage" (or whatever). I haven't read the graphic novel or what ever you wish to name it but I have seen the trailers. I noticed it, then most certainly the creators did. I'm pretty sure it was a purposeful imitation. Which really isn't a bad thing. It was nice to see.
- Slym, on 11/20/2008, -3/+15Wish they would ripoff rorschach instead.
- madfrogurt, on 11/20/2008, -4/+16Allusions aren't ripoffs.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -1/+12I love Kristen Belle. She was really good in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
- Munceenuts, on 11/20/2008, -1/+12I don't like it too much but I still watch it because honestly I have nothing better to do on a Monday night so why not? I just hope it gets good again.
- AshamedAmerican, on 11/20/2008, -0/+10You pretty much just summed up the graphic novel, bravo.
- cl2yp71c, on 11/20/2008, -2/+12I like it.
What I don't like, is how slow it's going. - oboshoe, on 11/20/2008, -4/+14Heroes.
Season one: Fantastic. Oh man I can't wait til the next episode
Season two: WTF are they thinking - maybe the next episode will be better.
Season three: WTF is going on? - eh who cares
I've stopping caring about the characters. There is no worse fate for any story, than if if it just makes you stop caring. - assbeard, on 11/20/2008, -1/+10considering the graphic novel is 22 years old, I'd say Watchmen beat them to it.
- tkoziar, on 11/20/2008, -3/+12Agreed... the similarities between the two are remarkable. What kills me about it is that before Heroes you were a "geek" or a "loser" for reading comics and liking this kind of material, but now that Heroes is out, EVERYONE watches it. It's pretty ironic
- haastyle, on 11/20/2008, -9/+18WHO GIVES A *****
- j3ff86, on 11/20/2008, -1/+9Spoilers!! *pushes glasses back on nose*
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -1/+9Jon Osterman wasn't electrocuted. He was deatomized.
- Kohaxx, on 11/20/2008, -2/+10Considering the other crap on air right now, Heroes is pretty awesome. Even if just for the action scenes when someone gets crispified like Sylar did.
- fdgvieira, on 11/20/2008, -1/+8"If I want to watch people with superpowers, I'm going to watch a comic book movie like Batman, so on."
Batman??? Superpowers??? ::SIGH:: - lovek, on 11/20/2008, -2/+9Hypothesis: This is a ripoff or allusion to Watchmen.
Begin:
1) This implies that the writers are familiar with the source material.
2) If they were, they probably would have learned something about how to write a superhero based series.
3) We've seen Heroes.
Result:
Hypothesis Disproved - This is not a ripoff or allusion to Watchmen. - ThornHarvestar, on 11/20/2008, -4/+10Hardly a "rip off". Homage is the correct term here; it's not the same context as Watchmen at all. It's just a similar visual shot.
- NeoCortex, on 11/20/2008, -2/+8I don't think it was necessarily a Watchmen reference. If anything, I was half expecting Darth Vader to enter the scene and throw Elle into a bottomless pit.
- leif777, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6amen
- JeddHampton, on 11/20/2008, -4/+10Wasn't the first season about a plot to destroy a large city so that the world can unite? Or did that have something to do with the Watchmen?
- promoboy2002, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6I though it looked more like a scene from Quantum Leap.
http://images.paxholley.net/blog/time_machines/qua ... - sindex, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5Lost is 10x the show Heroes is. At least they have an idea of where it's going with a definitive beginning, middle and end. Heroes has one of the best first seasons of TV, but then at the end and for the last 2 seasons everyone seems to be scrambling going, "*****.. I didn't think we'd last this long. Ummm.... let's just rewrite all the characters and constantly ignore their powers!"
- BoneheadFarker, on 11/20/2008, -1/+6CAT FIGHT!
- Dumbfood, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5Episode 3 of Fugitives (17 of the season) is supposed to focus on him from what I understand.
- antdude, on 11/20/2008, -1/+6No, fighting. ;)
- Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -1/+6She did a good job with the acting in that last episode I thought, and her standing next to Sylar really showed just how short she is.
- petro62, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5I will digg you up for at least being honest about having nothing better to do. Unlike others who say they watch it because it is so bad it entertains them.
- roddack, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Comics have been around forever and in a stupid volume. It is virtually impossible to come up with an idea that hasn't been done before in some way.
- demiurgency, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4The problem with that theory is that writers are (comparatively) cheap. Big budgets are not an excuse for poor writing.
- JeddHampton, on 11/20/2008, -1/+5I like it... but I could see everything that was going to happen in the last episode from a mile away. Well, the only thing I didn't foresee was Sylar's new power stealing ability... which I should have seen.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -1/+5if you haven't read the watchmen novel
http://lulcat.com/2008/10/10/watchmen-novel-vs-mov ... - proseandpromise, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4*Spoilers
- WhiteHamster, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Quite a few
- fdgvieira, on 11/20/2008, -2/+6okay, so a show about people with superpowers is similar to another show/movie/comic book about people with superpowers? Wow! I mean in this day and age... to think that those selfish bastards at heroes haven't figured out a way to get around the fact that PRACTICALLY EVERY SUPERPOWER, PLOT TWIST, STORY ARCH, AND IMAGERY HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE.
Criticizing heroes for being like other superhero stories is like saying TrueBlood is bad because vampires that suck blood has been done before. - ClevelandBrown, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4*Bell, and yeah she is smoking hot.
- Andrwmorph, on 11/20/2008, -1/+5Also, all the fun characters either turn evil, get written out of the story, or die.
- kingUssop, on 11/20/2008, -2/+5Heroes is a bad writer's dream show. I stopped watching in season 1 when they had all that time to actually build character and wasted it on lame plots and shock and awe endings that were made meaningless the next week.
- JeddHampton, on 11/20/2008, -1/+4Do you mean Mutant X?
