- Peterh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38This is the first thing that has ever made me want an HDTV
- omatsei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33As a browncoat, it is my responsibility to be unreasonably optimistic in hoping that this will hike the ratings up so high that the SciFi channel gets the rights from Fox to do more seasons of the show... or at least a TV sequel to Serenity.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24I hope this means that it wont be long before you can buy it on HD-DVD
- wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Heretic! BURN HIM!!!!
- adrocknaphobia, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24This is the reason I finally buy an HD TV!
- wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21Oh YES! I have Universal HD!! We already get BSG in HD (albeit one year behind), which is awesome, but now we get Firefly in HD. My cup runneth over.

/rubs watery eyes - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18OMG I have been watching UHD so much lately I was thinking why don't they show serenity in HD, but firefly? HOLY ***** I am literally jumping up and down right now!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23I think I just peed a little.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Aww ***** you guys... now I am starting to tear.
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I think I'm going to cry...
/sheds a tear - JDoggqx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16"I'll be in my bunk."
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I thought Joss Whedon owned the rights to the universe, Isn't that why he was able to get Universal to make the movie in the first place?
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Even Orson Scott Card said that firefly is the best Science Fiction TV show of all time.
- d10nysus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Gorram Shiny!!!!
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I'm gettin' all lubed up over here.
This is the "quotes thread" right? - gmerin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12as soon as the female browncoats realize the scenes of Nathan Fillion's naked butt will also be in HD 1080i, the UHD ratings should soar ;)
- kikibun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Sweeet. (With the extra e). I hope the added popularity of firefly due to the highdef will cause the show to be continued (if it can). Anyway, firefly is the best TV show out there.
- bloaded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11As far as I understand Fox holds the rights to broadcast the firefly/serenity series on TV and thats why they had to make serenity a feature film. I loved the TV series and I think the complexity of the series made it perfect for TV and thats one of the reasons the movie felt like it was trying to squeeze way to much story in an hour and a half. Love the series nonetheless I think im gonna start watching firefly again....
- mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Cool. I didn't realize that FF was shot on film (I was under the impression most TV shows weren't?) so a proper HD conversion can be done. Hopefully the sets, costuming, and makeup hold up under the much higher detail of HD. Now I have to go see how I can get UHD...
- Vermifax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9'We've done the impossible.....and that makes us mighty!"
Long Live Serenity &the Browncoats!
Inara in 1080i............. (sigh) :-D - chubbymidget, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Sweet!
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Hell one Fox show got uncancelled (Family Guy) I think its about time for another...or two (Firefly and Futurama) although I would rather Firefly didn't going back to Fox. Sci-Fi channel and UHD would be good candidates.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8This is the TV show not the movie. The movie was an HD-DVD launch title and one of the reasons I plan on getting an HD-DVD as soon as prices are semi-reasonable. (Along with Blazing Saddles)
- Twinked, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10This is awesome news!
- maxsunset, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Oh wait, Serenity is on HD-DVD, not Firefly yet.. my mistake.
- magnorock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Now if we could just get some fresh episodes....I guess one can only dream. Possibly the best tv series I have ever seen and unfortunately I didn't get introduced to it until it was off the air. Now all I get is to wait for new releases of the old material.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8i just wanted to say that, i'm not a big fan of sci fi and i really don't dig westerns but i absolutely loved this series/movie.
it will be missed. - aplardi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Awesome. I cant wait to record them with my VCR ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7why is it Fox keeps canceling all the good shows we want to see while running all the crap shows no one wants to see? They must have a dyslexic programming director. *looks a what the people wants, mind twists it backwards* Oh damn cancel this show and run a second season of the Swan!
- magister, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13I supported unification.
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6new episodes please! ;)
- SublimeRuin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I don't have HDTV but the fact that there is more interest in Firefly/Serenity is AWESOME!!
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Universal HD its one of the few High Def only channels. (Along with Discovery HD Another one of my favorite HD channels, Discovery has their SD channel but its not the same shows as the HD channel)
- xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Too bad my Charter Cable doesn't carry UHD yet :(
- sonicdeath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Can we please bring back the show:( I cannot wait to see this in HD. I'm starting to watch this as much as i do with star wars now.
"You can't take the sky from me" - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I dont think any TV channels are in 1080P yet, at least not in my area.
- Lanser84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5One Word: Shiny!
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Switch, haha or wait for bittorent. (Unless you are a nielsen household then switch immediately)
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Along with Blazing Saddles"
Aww damnit! Someone go back and get a ***** of dimes! - jackmaninov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You win the internets.
- Ub3rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8How can you type while you're jumping?
- BrianCarlstrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The broadcast HD standard does not include 1080p as an official resolution. That is why HD broadcasts generally top out at 720p or 1080i. Hooking a computer to a 1080p set is about the only way to really run at 1080p.
- wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Crabbz is right. A decent 1080p signal takes up mad amounts of bandwidth, like 15Mbps uncompressed. Even with good MPEG-4 compression (I don't know if cable operators have switched over from MPEG-2 yet) the cost/benefit of a 1080p signal just isn't there right now.
Truth to be told, rather than push for 1080p (or even more 720p), I'd be much happier with more content in 1080i rather than the existing content pushed at a higher resolution. The sad fact is that even now the offerings on most cable and satellite systems are pretty thin. I know its getting better, but I want it NOW, damnit. - treylane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4NEEEEED SCIFI CHANNEL IN HD! dangit!
