- Crosshare, on 05/05/2008, -4/+512Anyone else find it annoying that the article refers to the show as "Guy"?
- samard2002, on 05/05/2008, -5/+338Not bad for a guy who was canceled. Twice. Good for him.
- alex1015, on 05/05/2008, -10/+310The real heroes are the manatees
- Scrappy1850, on 05/05/2008, -5/+257did anyone else read the title and think seth was going to start making music?
- bogatash, on 05/05/2008, -19/+247"I get a lot of pleasure out of making shows," MacFarlane said. "It's a bonus to be getting paid well for it, and it's a double bonus to be getting paid exorbitantly for it."
- mentalone, on 05/05/2008, -6/+215Thats a lot of nipples and dimes... nickels and boobs... money
- acero47, on 05/05/2008, -4/+161Wait, "The Cleveland Show" isn't a joke? Really? How is that show going to be any good at all?
- Lephtovermeet, on 05/05/2008, -45/+198Family guy sucks these days. Bring back futurama.
- chubbawubba, on 05/05/2008, -3/+127Who the hell refers to Family Guy as "Guy"? It's like referring to Prison Break as "Break", or Arrested Development as "Development".
I am annoyed. - rolf, on 05/05/2008, -7/+119I thought family guy was written by manatees using idea balls?
- liquisoft, on 05/05/2008, -3/+80Haha. Irony.
I recall that FOX cancelled the show until they realized people actually liked it. - gglynn07, on 05/05/2008, -13/+75And to think, the idiots at Fox canceled him!!! It's about time those friggin' tards latch on to good talent.
- mehss, on 05/05/2008, -4/+61That reminds me of the time I.......
- Coffeedemon, on 05/05/2008, -22/+77Will he be using any of the cash to hire plot writers or will it all just continue with the same tired "this reminds me of the time... [insert pop culture reference here]" crap? Good for him I suppose. The way that show is structured its a license to print money.
- chuckDontSurf, on 05/05/2008, -11/+60I'd digg you twice if I could. Family Guy hasn't made me laugh in years. Futurama blows it away.
- inactive, on 05/05/2008, -6/+52Don't call me guy, buddy.
- chambana, on 05/05/2008, -5/+49each comment dumber then the one that preceded it, keep the trend going
- Ramble, on 05/05/2008, -4/+47The 'writer' couldn't be bothered to add in 7 extra words and put family in front of guy?
- BinaryDelt, on 05/05/2008, -2/+44I never thought I'd see the day...
...now you're going to tell me Futurama is coming back! Riiiiiiight.
...wait, what? - mdavis, on 05/05/2008, -3/+41This show trudges on and Arrested Development and The Wire did early deaths. What a world!
- UbIwerks, on 05/05/2008, -1/+37The cool thing is that he's still extremely down to earth. Last week my wife and I went to a karaoke bar in Burbank, and wouldn't you know it, Seth MacFarlane was there. I didn't really recognize him at first, that is until he got up and sang (no joke) "Never gonna give you up". I'm sure people will find this hard to believe, but it's true. Once he finished he just sat right back down like any other dude. I'm sure 98% of the bar had no idea what they were watching. :)
- mistergoomba, on 05/05/2008, -1/+36liked family guy
- Scrappy1850, on 05/05/2008, -4/+38why bother reading the article when i can get all the quotes here? oh, and i think your sarcasm detector needs repair.
- one321, on 05/05/2008, -29/+63He got it from the article! Try reading them once in a while.
- jughead789, on 05/05/2008, -0/+33Futurama is coming back on comedy central, the first of four movies Benders Big Score is already out and is ***** hilarious.
- kuchino, on 05/05/2008, -9/+41"that will do pig, that will do"
- inactive, on 05/05/2008, -11/+42Too bad the show hasn't been funny since it's original run.
- trendygamer, on 05/05/2008, -9/+40Kind of a shame considering the newer Family Guy (while okay) has never matched the quality of pre-cancellation episodes...After seeing the first Futurama movie I'm worried about them as well. I imagine its hard to take a multi-year break from being in the habit of writing something and just returning to it no problem. Hard to get that comedic timing back.
- SillyDigger, on 05/05/2008, -0/+28Blame Gail Berman (2000-2005) a lot of good shows got the axe under her watch.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 05/05/2008, -1/+27At least they didn't refer to it as "Fam"
- mdnttoker, on 05/05/2008, -3/+27http://www.videosift.com/video/Stewies-2-Girls-1-C ...
Classic... - inactive, on 05/05/2008, -1/+25Isn't that basically what American Dad is - Family Guy without the constant flashbacks?
- Marglar, on 05/05/2008, -3/+27maybe some special appearances from the quahog blackuweather report could spice it up a bit, I might watch an episode or two for that.
IT GON RAIN! - scallon, on 05/05/2008, -5/+28Don't call me buddy, pal.
- tikal2k, on 05/05/2008, -1/+24"Guy" is one of those things you call someone when you're about to start a fight with them.
- glasnostic, on 05/05/2008, -0/+23i think Cartoon Network should get some credit here. and all the people who bought DVD's of Family Guy when the series was canceled.
not that Seth deserves less credit though. that sonuvabitch is ***** funny. - inactive, on 05/05/2008, -6/+29not to sound racist or anything but black stereotypical jokes are freaking funny especially in family guy! remember that time when Cleveland stepped into the circled area in Joe's police van? or when peter was smoking cracks, and said he got them from "Blacks... this white guy was selling them behind Black's hardware store" . and I suspect the Cleveland show spin off is gonna have a whole world of them.
- ninsei, on 05/05/2008, -5/+27anyone else read the title as "Seth MacFarlane's putting out a record?"
- gglynn07, on 05/05/2008, -2/+23We're hip, we're cool...ticka ticka ticka, hey...Ahh!!!
- orangy77, on 07/31/2008, -2/+23Sorry to burst your bubble, but no it doesn't.
- lukas88, on 05/05/2008, -1/+19I want to believe this story. I read somewhere that the episode where brian sings "never gonna give you up" at the prom when he goes back in time (poking fun at back to the future) was what got the whole rick rolling thing going.
Seth does the voice of brian (it is actually the closest to his normal voice), so it is plausible that that was him at the karaoke bar. Needless to say that it sounds like you witnessed an epic event, thank god someone was around to appreciate it. - groovechamp30, on 05/05/2008, -15/+33Family guy isn't that funny at all...South Park is 10x better.
- MJDub, on 05/05/2008, -3/+21A woman should not be in charge of television programming. Offense intended.
- crimson117, on 05/05/2008, -0/+17Close; they listed all the other fox shows that were piloted but quickly canceled during the time while Family Guy was off the air.
- Duggan360, on 05/05/2008, -1/+18You only mentioned you got baked hoping people would think you were cool....
- villageatheist, on 05/05/2008, -6/+23a woman should not be in charge of television programming. no offense intended.
- dajernts, on 05/05/2008, -3/+20No to be a dick but I assume you mean "letters." I was actually confused for second there.
- dafragsta, on 05/05/2008, -3/+19I think all of you guys are far too cynical about that, now that South Park has pointed it out. I like all three animated mainstays for different reasons. There is nothing wrong with the pop culture segues. That's Family Guy's "thing." It'd be like going back in time and making fun of Mr. Show because they never actually ended a sketch. Robot Chicken is an entire show that is nothing but Family Guy-esque pop culture references. They are still smart and well written.
- hackiavelli, on 05/05/2008, -0/+16Especially since family doesn't have seven letters in it.
