- Kingfisherx, on 06/26/2009, -2/+244Can we stop calling them a cult and start calling them a scam please? Cult is too elevated a word for these *****.
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -8/+245I hope this gets popular before the Scientology bury brigade sees this
- mxxz, on 06/25/2009, -1/+212It's life, It's flirting, It's love, It's learning ... It's *****!!!
- RadioShack, on 06/25/2009, -1/+191They didn't mention having sex or playing video games... I'm out
- Feraldr00d, on 06/25/2009, -1/+186It's strange, how Scientology was introduced as a church, but it's ideologies are so profusely denounced, I have come to read "Cult of Scientology" without a double take.
"...Some think they can buy it.." How ironic! - rwiggum, on 06/26/2009, -0/+181The worst part is, these area actually really good commercials. I disagree entirely with the "church," but from a strictly objective advertising viewpoint, they're really well put together. That's why it's so scary.
- supermajic, on 06/26/2009, -0/+152What a waste of talent. These are really good advertisements. They should just cut the last 10 seconds and turn them into advertisements for the Discovery Channel or something.
- lnxfi, on 06/26/2009, -2/+143I stole a pen from them a month ago in NY. It's the best pen in the world.
- bizkit00, on 06/26/2009, -1/+120"Scientology... it's paperclips". k.
- ayeroxor, on 06/26/2009, -1/+99Duh! Alien technology!

No Yourself No Life - KarateMedia, on 06/26/2009, -0/+78It's no coincidence that these are coming out right after the St. Petersburg Times expose was published. No better way to combat the truth than with vague notions of potential fulfillment.
Oh yeah, and ***** you Scientology. - lodwar, on 06/25/2009, -0/+74L.Ron Hubbard, Jack parsons & Aleister Crowley .manipulators par excellence.
- iamacyborg, on 06/26/2009, -2/+72Guys why the banging on Scientology? Do they not deserve our consideration and respect as an equally valid and worthy viewpoint on life and the universe?
Nah, I'm just yanking ya they're a bunch of schizoid ***** with a large advertising budget. - TomGfromCanada, on 06/26/2009, -0/+70Do those people know they're in a scientology ad?
- ShingoEX, on 06/26/2009, -1/+71"Some think they can buy it"
Yeah, like Scientologists. Have you seen how much they charge people? - emkaysmith, on 06/26/2009, -0/+69It wasn't "introduced as a church." If you're old enough, you will remember that Ron Hubbard, a third-rate science fiction writer in the '50s, was also a "fringe psychology" nut as well as a talented scam artist. He wrote "Dianetics" to make a little extra money, and it sold so well he invented Scientology to make more money. The idea of claiming Scientology was a church was to avoid paying the IRS, pure and simple. This whole travesty could have been avoided several decades ago if the courts had simply refused to accept that contention.
It's still all a scam, but with better lawyers. - centran, on 06/26/2009, -0/+59It's both a scam and a cult.
- ShingoEX, on 06/26/2009, -0/+55Well, you need good advertising if you wanna sell ***** and expect people to buy in on it.
- MulletBoy911, on 06/26/2009, -1/+49that could have totally be a condom ad....
- DontHassleHoff, on 06/26/2009, -0/+47Expose from the SPTimes if you missed it a few days back:

- Ancientdrifter, on 06/26/2009, -0/+35"You...are not your name. You're not your job. You're not the clothes you wear or the neighborhood you live in."
Um, sound familiar? Chuck Palahniuk isn't a scientologist...right? - icepick314, on 06/26/2009, -6/+40the question is why did CNN allow this crap to run on it's network?
are they THAT hardup for ad money? - Feraldr00d, on 06/25/2009, -2/+35That sounds like a winning religion! You could make millions!
- dOOBiEx213, on 06/26/2009, -0/+32Say what you will, but I can see how the production quality of that video could lure suckers in.
- ayeroxor, on 06/26/2009, -3/+34Comments need moderation on YouTube and only scrote-licker comments are getting approved. Solution?

(They're also allowing Video Responses, but those may be moderated too...) - inactive, on 06/26/2009, -1/+30Anybody who reduces what Scientology is doing to simply just a 'scam' doesn't know much about Scientology
- wastelander, on 06/26/2009, -0/+29I just flagged it as "Spam/Fraud"
- sk1d, on 06/26/2009, -3/+28looks like they hired the same ad firm as microsoft for bing
- kemper86, on 06/26/2009, -0/+25so ***** hypocritical.
- danandre, on 06/26/2009, -0/+24Did anyone notice the cross in the T? Looked like a reference to Christianity, or am I reading too much into it?

was i the only one who thought the 3rd add was a total rip off of fight club? - satori3000, on 06/26/2009, -0/+23watch out, it's a mini-nuke and it's drawing you to the bottom of a volcano.
- inactive, on 06/26/2009, -0/+23Any religion that Charles Manson thinks is too crazy, just count me out of it. Because that's just ***** nuts.
- piieerrrree, on 06/26/2009, -0/+22It's a cult.
- RWFG, on 06/26/2009, -0/+20Not really, just give me 6 hours, an FLV converter, epic music, stock footage, and Adobe Premier and I'll shoot out a well done documentary about young children falling down escalators.
- Skitals, on 06/26/2009, -1/+21Scien†ology
- Phooka1976, on 06/26/2009, -0/+20The fact that they have commercials out, suggests that they aren't doing well right now in the poor economy.
Which would lead me to believe that people are choosing to cut back on auditing.
Which would lead me even further to believe and should cross the minds of anyone who views a commercial for a religion... Is this a business?
That should lead the governments to ask, why are they getting tax breaks? - icepick314, on 06/26/2009, -0/+19did i see Buddist monks somewhere in there?
- macfan93, on 06/26/2009, -0/+19Paper clips you say?
Sign me up! - IgorUnchained, on 06/26/2009, -0/+19Exactly what I was thinking....the first commercial was a Matrix rip off (audio and visual)....the second commercial was a blatant Fight Club rip off.
If that is a "slick artsy ad", then I am Jack's Spastic Colon. - Ubermann, on 06/26/2009, -0/+19What real religion has a slogan? SOunds more like a Viagra commercial.
- ayeroxor, on 06/26/2009, -0/+18I read between the lines:
It's shiny cars, money, and losing the ones you love.
They've finally come out and said it! - SquigglyP, on 06/26/2009, -0/+17well they control most of hollywood. i'd be more surprised if their ads were *****.
- sjl127, on 06/26/2009, -0/+16And you know what? This is as deliberate as it gets (The Cross, 5 letters on each side): See this screen shot at the end of one of the new videos: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2447/3661645572_787 ...
