- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -21/+689Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is exactly that, ignorance. There's nothing wrong with that scarf.
- CPMan, on 05/28/2008, -14/+611Why are so many people so stupid?
- kensavage, on 05/28/2008, -22/+512***** Fox News commentator Michelle Malkin. What we can't wear a scarf on TV anymore.
- alphasixtyone, on 05/28/2008, -11/+487Did you know that terrorists also wear shoes?
OMG! better take off our shoes - fuzed, on 05/28/2008, -27/+431This is blatent racism pure and simple. Disgusting.
- BarbaraKolbe, on 05/28/2008, -53/+403U.S. ignorance about other cultures is terribly embarrassing. But even *more* embarrassing is fact that Ms. Makin can scare a corporation like Dunkin Donuts to *bury* this ignorance. Dunkin Donuts: educational ad campaign next?
- whatthefu, on 05/29/2008, -7/+297Read the comments, they're equally outrageous: http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/28/the-keffiyeh- ...
They're comparing it to a swastika and a KKK hood. I don't know if it's ignorance or what, but it is very saddening. - lotsa1s, on 05/29/2008, -9/+239I honestly checked for a big green onion and was sadly disappointed when I couldn't find one.
What the ***** is wrong with this country? - chicoer2001, on 05/29/2008, -12/+239Ironic that Malkin who bitches about hyper sensitive liberal is equally hyper sensitive. Cowboys killed Native Americans in the past wearing cowboy hats. Bush wears cowboy hats. So I guess Bush sympathizes with killing Native Americans.
- rob89, on 05/28/2008, -14/+196i suggest dunkin donuts not insult their customers in the future. we are not idiots, we know who rachel ray is and that she's from NY state. how sad that they feel Arab looking is a problem. i guess i have to go back to starbucks for my coffee, or tim hortons.........
- YogiWanKenobi, on 05/28/2008, -29/+175I think Michelle Malkin would look great in a Colombian Necktie
- Calcularius, on 05/29/2008, -8/+147Please call Dunkin Donuts and tell them you're not scared.
800-859-5339 - metaliq, on 05/29/2008, -9/+142Effing ridiculous.
Being Muslim makes you a terrorist sympathizer?
From the article:
For her part, Malkin was pleased with Dunkin’s response: ‘‘It’s refreshing to see an American company show sensitivity to the concerns of Americans opposed to Islamic jihad and its apologists."
So either you are an ignorant American or a jihadist? These people are stupid, but sure as hell know how to trick people into thinking their logic isn't a fallacy... - RandomEyes, on 05/28/2008, -18/+128DELISH! They should pull Rachael Ray Ads just because she's in them
- 0Xonox0, on 05/29/2008, -8/+114Can I still go tanning or would that make me look too much like a terrorist too?
- 8randon, on 05/29/2008, -4/+99pic
http://www.necn.com/files/2008/05/28/vlcsnap-99864 ... - knde, on 05/29/2008, -9/+102They aren't stupid. They are scared. Americans have somehow been convinced that threats surround them at all times.
Red alert! Orange! No, Yello-- no, Red! RED! Beware! Watch your neighbor close, he could be Al Quaeida!
This article proves it. It's absurd :-/ - duggdowncatisad, on 05/29/2008, -3/+87Read up on Michelle Malkin -- she's a right wing Fox News whackjob right up there with Anne Coulter and Bill O'Really. I'll let you skip straight to the controversy section. This is not new territory for this woman.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Malkin#Contr ... - inactive, on 05/29/2008, -2/+84I find Malkin's viewpoint uninformed. I can find you pictures of US Army soldiers including the Green Berets wearing a shemagh (or keffiyeh). Our Arab allies also wear it. It's about as dumb as claiming baseball caps are symbols of Yankee imperialism.
- goosegoose, on 05/29/2008, -24/+104Rachel Ray is hot. There I said it.
- mCanada, on 05/29/2008, -12/+85Unfortunately this doesn't help my pro-scarf / anti-Rachel Ray platform in '08.
- totorototoro, on 05/29/2008, -8/+77Michelle Malkin once again focusing on the important issues of the day :p
- nblsavage, on 05/29/2008, -0/+67Why do you think they make you take them off at the airport? :)
- dubloe7, on 05/29/2008, -2/+68http://www.necn.com/files/2008/05/28/vlcsnap-99864 ...
are you kidding me? - nblsavage, on 05/29/2008, -10/+73Ah, more manufactured controversy from the right. Since Malkin isn't famous for anything other than being a right-wing pundit, she has to keep the pot stirred in order to sell more books and make more TV appearances on FOX. Dunkin' Donuts is also on my ***** list for not having a spine. I'd rather go to Krispy Kreme or one of my local shops anyway.
- pintomp3, on 05/29/2008, -2/+64i want them to put the ad back in just to spite the xenophobic wingnuts.
- pintomp3, on 05/29/2008, -2/+63would you like a glazed talibun to go with your osama bin latte?
- jonpotz, on 05/29/2008, -21/+81Well, that settles it, America is officially dead.
Nice knowing you!
One of my best buddies was so fed up with where USA was headed, he moved to Australia. He calls me and tells me I should move out there too, I think I just might take him up on his offer because this country is done for. - dmacmattack, on 05/29/2008, -14/+72Well the truth is that many Americans are morons. So it's not inaccurate for them to think it might affect sales. Though it is still dumb as hell.
- Beanstudd2, on 05/29/2008, -7/+65http://www.franchisepick.com/wp-content/uploads/20 ...
- nigelmansell, on 05/29/2008, -11/+69The Right's attempt to steer people away from the McClellan book controversy.
- active1x0, on 05/29/2008, -6/+63Donuts are delicious.
Wait what was this story about again? - StevieJanowski, on 04/02/2009, -6/+60This is the second problem Dunkin has had with Rachel Ray, I think she is secretly working for KrispyKreme
- Calcularius, on 05/29/2008, -20/+73Please call Dunkin Donuts and tell them you're not scared.
800-859-5339 - bitterbug, on 05/29/2008, -1/+51or just buy some from the nice Arab fellow who runs the independent convenience store or coffee shop down the street.
- theartfuldodgr, on 05/29/2008, -0/+49she better not secrete any muslim on me
- zephc, on 05/29/2008, -1/+50This is so absurd I don't think even the Onion writers could come up with it.
- pintomp3, on 05/29/2008, -3/+51OMG! a terrorist scarf! and what's in her hand?!? a terrorist latte!!
- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -30/+78And so Dunkin' Donuts' rep continues the downward spiral...
- woofers07, on 05/29/2008, -1/+47one of the comments:
"Of course the liberal goons are up in arms, that’s their uniform. The brief time we lived in Augusta, GA, I was getting my hair done and in walks one of the male sylists with the same keffiyeh on. He was supposed to do my color but I asked him if he was just making a “fashion statement” of a goof ball and he said “no, it stands for something, solidarity with Palestine”. I told the owner I would like someone else to do my color and he did it himself. Another woman who was his client came in and she told him to take it off. He refused and she told him that her husband was from Israel and that this was a problem for her. He said sorry, but it wasn’t coming off. She said she was sorry that she was ending their 4 year relationship but she was sure there were other talented stylists in Augusta who could do her hair and left.
I agree Michelle, about the Burberry hood."
I wouldn't say saddening so much as blood boiling. Seriously, as harsh as it is I don't want to share the planet with these kind of people. - Fordi, on 05/29/2008, -4/+50These are the Americans that give me ***** whenever I wear one of my atheistic t-shirts. One is a large scarlet 'A' with 'theist' in letters you have to be level with my navel to read; the other states "That which can be proposed without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. Now who were you saying I should embrace?"
Honestly, I bought them to support the sites that sold them, and I wear them because they exist in the rotation of random t-shirts I wear every day.
I don't mind them being taken as a political statement, but the random "You're going to hell, sinner!" has got to stop.
I mean, seriously. I don't believe in hell, anymore than I believe in heaven. Why should invoking its name have any effect. I dunno. I suppose religious types just revel in pretending to say something. Explains prayer, at least. - artfiend77, on 05/29/2008, -0/+45Now now guys, nothing says terrorism like Paisley. Embroidery is symbolic for white supremest groups and Floral patterns are popular with the Zapatistas. It's all about coordinating and accessorizing really.
- bartofdahammer, on 05/29/2008, -0/+45Are you saying he doesn`t
- malex, on 05/29/2008, -1/+45I can answer that:
People who don't want hysterical xenophobic ***** who wouldn't know an Arab from a Oompa-Loompa making the decisions that affect the direction of our society and our culture. Those are the people who care. - Hangly, on 05/29/2008, -1/+40I'll have a double tall terrorist latte with sprinkles and extra DEATH TO AMERICA ALLAH IS GREAT.
- hansblix, on 05/29/2008, -1/+39My girlfriend has a scarf that looks just like that. We're both terrorists and didn't even know it.
I'm so ashamed... - AZTriGuy, on 05/29/2008, -5/+40Symbolically, there's nothing wrong with the scarf. This just reeks of it being a slow news day and Fox needing to drum up some controversy about something.
From a style standpoint, though, you got to admit, it's pretty ugly... - nomadbea, on 05/29/2008, -0/+34...now THAT is an accomplishment.
- maddvibe, on 05/29/2008, -4/+37Give me a break.
