- shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+51Should not the title read "Detailed Map *of* Springfield?" I would love to go *to* springfield!
Regardless (thats really just bitchy nit-picking), this is one great map! Thank you:)! - Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Where's "fake street" ? Anyone remember that episode? It should be on there I suppose....
- triforcer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26"While the placement of most locations is arbitrary, many are placed according to where they appear in relationship to each other in specific episodes of The Simpsons. In some cases 'one-time references' to specific locations have been disregarded in favor of others more often repeated. Due to the many inconsistencies among episodes, the map will never be completely accurate.
Although we'd like our map to be as accurate as a map to any imaginary place can be, our main intent is to preserve the comic spirit of Springfield, document its unique identity, and to have some fun at the same time. "
check out the actual site for it.
http://www.mapofspringfield.com/ - Wilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Fake Street: up and to the left of The Waterfront (bottom right of the map.) Fake Vomit, Inc. is on it!
- affanjam, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Anyone have a Google Earth link for this.
- Paktu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Can anyone find the Springfield Tire Fire?
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16http://adn.blam.be/springfield/
Here's an interactive version of the map. You can click on locations to view images of them. - bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I doubt its all that accurate unless the creators have one they stick by, but it is pretty awesome to check out.
- Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12port to SimCity fails: need more Residential zones =(
- TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12"fake street"
I think that was in season 12 episode 18, "Trilogy of Error". In case anyone missed it, you can watch every episode of the Simpsons on Dailymotion. Here is an AD-FREE list for easy navigation: http://digguser.blogspot.com/2006/09/simpsons-click-on-zoom-for-full-screen.html - Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10That picture is inaccurate, there is no parking lot on the right side of Moe's let alone the Kwik-E-Mart.
- thushan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10explains why you've been here since April 1st 2006...
- tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Yahoo Search Engine Arena from "A Tale of Two Springfields"
It's the episode where the phone company forces a new area code on the residents splitting the town between Olde Springfield (where all the rich people live) and New Springfield (Where homer is mayor). The Who performs and some other wacky stuff happens.
I really, really, really need a life. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What's that I spy? A genuine, Bona fide, Electrified, Six-car Monorail!
- MScrip, on 10/12/2007, -11/+18You say dupes suck.
I think people who say "it's already been posted, search before you submit" suck.
Digg is made up of user submitted content. Of course you're gonna get some duplicates. Thousands of people are submitting stories right now!
According to you, this Springfield map has appeared on Digg 8 times in the last 628 days. But, I've never seen it on the front page... so, to me, it's never been on Digg!
I read Digg because I find stuff I wouldn't normally have found on my own. I personally don't mind seeing a story a few times.
Look at every other news site... they all have the same stories... literally! - Supernova36, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Where did the information come from?
- Ru55, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7and I thought that there was only one bridge out of town.
- goostoff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Way inaccurate. The Simpsons' house is not next door to Springfield Elementary.
- demonmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7It's not on the map... look on the lower right hand side...
Just for you...

- draven_b4u, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6If there is enough space in between dupes.. I do not see a problem.. Do you catch EVERY digg? I think not... People may have missed it..
Cheers to the poster.. thanks for the awsome map... - fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Omg, I was looking fo this for the longest time, now I won't get lost next time I fly up there

- DidntYouHear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here's where that image came from:

- zentro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4What is "Yahoo Search Engine Area"? Product placement?
- musicbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@MScrip
Preach on my friend. Dupe nazi's suck. I've never seen this on Digg before. I've seen it other places but not on Digg. I'm glad to have the links found in the comments here too! - jschrab, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://moon.google.com exists but sadly http://springfield.google.com doesn't (hint, hint, any Google employee's reading this!)
- Hellman109, on 10/12/2007, -14/+16http://www.digg.com/search?area=all&age=all&sort=new&s=simpsons+map&submit=Search
Detailed list of every other time it has been posted.
No, none of these arent mine and Im not asking you to Digg any of them, but dupes suck. - chancesarent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's right-Monorail!
- alphARomeo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2funky map for sure...good for a lark, at least.
and with that said, i feel like a huge nerd, and understand that they used most common references from various episodes, but any simpsons fan knows the stonecutters episode ("homer the great," i think) in which homer parks his car for work and right beyond the fence is the simpson's back yard...common reference? maybe not, but a classic episode deserving of reference? yes.
anyone know how long it took to put together? and was it worth it? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought Mr. Burns' mansion was down the street from Kent Brockman's mansion, which he bought in the episode where he won the $130 million lottery jackpot and Santa's Little Helper needed the operation.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If only everyone were so giving of their time for the benefit of the rest of us! Thank you.
- DrGonzo1184, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@TheWalkingDude
Apparently the videos have been deleted. Bummer... but thanks anyway for posting it. - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually, those stores were in Episode AABF20, "Thirty Minutes over Tokyo".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty_Minutes_Over_Tokyo - wirah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is AMAZING! Well done to the creator
- lemcoe9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet!
- mulletman13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I cannot believe somebody wasted that much of their time.
I really am at a loss of words for how sad this is.
*watches the negative diggs* - unfinity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Didn't they bulldoze it at the end of the episode?
- musicbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@JackHollows
I think it's actually Springfield, Kentucky. ;-) - dan_cameron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3If you like the map check out the flickr notes.

- borb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I can't tell whether this is awesome...sad...or just a colossal waste of time...or all of the above.
