- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -4/+117I dunno, I think Mos Def is a good actor. He did well in 16 Blocks and Be Kind Rewind.
- badwithcomputer, on 10/28/2008, -3/+60wtf? ice cube is an awesome actor. before he started making those are we there yet family flicks he was great in friday and boyz in the hood.
- sillygato, on 10/28/2008, -8/+60I agree with most of those, but I think Ludacris is a decent actor. I liked him in Crash.
- nykzero, on 10/28/2008, -1/+51How about: Dear Rappers: Please. Stop. Killing. Your. Genre. So much for "Keeping it real"
- cawpin, on 10/28/2008, -0/+41This article is picking out ONLY the bad stuff and ignoring the good stuff they've done. Case in point, Ice T on Law & Order SVU. He does a great job on that show.
- FearisFailure, on 10/28/2008, -1/+37"Don't you know we are an endangered species" "Why because we are black men?" "NO!! Because all the rappers are taking all the good acting jobs" Damon Waynes in Dont Be A Menace..
- moredown, on 10/28/2008, -1/+30Coming soon: LL Cool J as Peter Parker in Spiderman 4
- ohnoerino, on 10/28/2008, -1/+28That's true. But there is definitely some crap out there as well. "Be Kind Rewind" was highly underrated.
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -1/+27Please rappers, use lyrics with substance. Write rhymes the opposite of soulja boy's.
- SuperVepr308, on 10/29/2008, -1/+24Ice-T and Ice-Cube are actually pretty good.
- ponchoandy, on 10/28/2008, -2/+22What, no 50 Cent?
- pirategonzo, on 10/29/2008, -0/+18Oh come on, Fat Boys Disorderlies was a great movie.
- acmaurer, on 10/28/2008, -0/+18Dugg for yet ANOTHER appearance of "Deep Blue Sea" on Digg. Love it.
- nerdsftw, on 10/28/2008, -0/+16The RZA and the GZA were great in coffee and cigarettes! :) I liked Ludacris in RockNRolla too.
- theprogram4, on 10/29/2008, -1/+17Buried for dissing Method Man and Redman. How High is a great stoner movie, especially when stoned. "How could I get an F in women's studies? I love bitches!"
Besides, Redman says he smokes 18 blunts a day...anyone who does that is cool in my book. - jmpeagle, on 10/29/2008, -0/+14what about Marky Mark?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iSfuaPDcTc - shutaro, on 10/28/2008, -0/+14My hat is like a shark's fin!
- njunderground, on 10/29/2008, -0/+14Mos Def is actually an actor-turned-rapper. He's been acting since he was a kid.
- VipeNess, on 10/29/2008, -1/+15Dear Rappers: Please. Stop. Singing.
- PathmarkPolice, on 10/29/2008, -0/+13Dear viewers: STOP. WATCHING. STUPID. *****.
- Retnuh730, on 10/29/2008, -0/+12I liked Coolio in the Keenan and Kel intro, and he was pretty good as Kwanzaa-bot in Futurama.
- twiztidsinz, on 10/29/2008, -2/+14What about Will Smith? He's pretty good..
All I'm sayin is Fresh Prince of Bel Air. - capnawesome, on 10/29/2008, -0/+11and Hitchhiker's Guide! you call yourself a Digg user?!
- iammzac, on 10/29/2008, -0/+10Methodman and Redman annouced 'how high 2' last Thursday. I saw them in concert and they said 2009.
- Bloodwine, on 10/29/2008, -0/+9being an ex-pimp probably gives him some insight into the world of SVU
- dtstuff9, on 10/29/2008, -0/+9He was decent in Three Kings. Awesome movie.
- diggit83, on 10/29/2008, -0/+9Hey, if you saw or heard about the first XXX movie, and decided to watch XXX2 its your own damn fault.
I saw 60% of the first one and then microwaved the blockbuster video DVD. I figured if me spending 15 bucks on that copy saves someone else from this tragedy.....I have done mankind a great service. - oldjersey, on 10/29/2008, -0/+9BURIED for dissing the Fat Boys
- davidwasman, on 10/29/2008, -2/+10...and talking instead of actually singing the song, and acting 'hard' when you came from the 'burbs, and praising nothing but money and whores when there are more important matters you could be educating your target 'demographic' with.
Where are KRS-One, RUN-DMC, and their ilk when we need them? - Aitese, on 10/29/2008, -0/+8Anyone else notice that despite his rap music (mostly rants against the police) Ice T has pretty much only played Cops on TV and in movies?
- Mark2600, on 10/29/2008, -1/+9...RTFA.
First paragraph:
Sure, some rappers have successfully crossed over from wireless mic to boom mic (just take a gander at the careers of Will Smith, Queen Latifah and Mos Def). But most rappers just torture the auspices of good taste across the world, one critical flop at a time. - wjackson, on 10/29/2008, -2/+10Andre 3000, Ludacris, Ice Cube, Eminem, Will Smith, Mos Def, 2Pac, and others are/were fantastic actors.
- theillest1, on 10/29/2008, -0/+8Say hi to your mother for me, okay?
- Bluetar, on 10/28/2008, -0/+7Good thing no one remembers Krush Groove.
- diggit83, on 10/29/2008, -0/+7Mark Wahlberg is actually a damn good actor IMO
- bhavinp, on 10/29/2008, -0/+7Ya but he wasn't really acting. I think he's probably like that all the time.
- roddack, on 10/29/2008, -0/+7Someone is mad they canceled Fresh Prince.
- serif69, on 10/29/2008, -0/+7What bothers me most about this is the straight line you've drawn here--^
- Dalhectar, on 10/29/2008, -1/+8Looking for meaning in a pop music song is like looking for true love in the Craigslist erotic services section.
- ohnoerino, on 10/28/2008, -1/+8I agree. But you have to admit, "Ghosts of Mars" was pretty craptastic.
- moxley, on 10/29/2008, -1/+7Yeah, most of them are total hacks - 50Cent and DMX are jokes on the screen.
but Mos Def has chops - for sure, Mos Def can act. - twiztidsinz, on 10/29/2008, -0/+6Because of Ice Cube?
or because it was XXX2? - gamben0, on 10/29/2008, -3/+9Periods aren't necessary after every word.
- GalacticRerun, on 10/29/2008, -1/+7And The Cosby Mysteries!
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -1/+7You spelled "breathing" wrong.
- gametavern, on 10/29/2008, -0/+6not all rap is gangster rap. Listen to early 90's rap music.
- tttt123, on 10/29/2008, -0/+5Mark Wahlberg is the opposite. Stop rapping. Please. Act.
- LilPuke, on 10/29/2008, -0/+5They also forgot Snoop in Bones.
I did think Disorderlies was funny. - infinitexx, on 10/28/2008, -0/+5I have to agree that Mos Def is good, but I also put his lyrics on a different level than most rappers, so its not too surprising in his case (also he's not on the list that I saw). That being said, most of the entries on this list are prime examples of failure.
I'd actually have to say that this list shouldn't really be about rap, most musicians are sadly lacking on the big screen. - seansmyth, on 10/28/2008, -3/+8Leprechaun is a classic.
