- Techno, on 06/16/2009, -2/+58Seriously people stop using the word "Pwned" in a headline.
- NineBreaker, on 06/16/2009, -2/+57I was misled by this supposed pwnage
- savvvy, on 06/16/2009, -1/+45Canadian Mirror ... http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/the-daily-show-wi ...
- orion846, on 06/16/2009, -6/+29really? another digg fp on the fictional lack of iran coverage by CNN? can you guys PLEASE go to cnn.com and CNN's channel for like ONE SECOND before you digg the next one of these?
- diggbru, on 06/16/2009, -2/+25Seriously guys? I honestly believe CNN covered it enough, I was watching clips on CNN about this all weekend.
- mnemy, on 06/16/2009, -0/+22I did not witness this alleged pwnage.
- CSheikh, on 06/16/2009, -1/+14Wow you are a dumbass.
Maybe if you watched the show you would see that he actually criticizes Israel, has called for Jerusalem to be an independent entity, and supports Palestinian rights.
Don't be a retard and don't comment about Iran because it is something you are a terrible source about. - damnmonkey, on 06/16/2009, -0/+12Buried for the use of 'Pwned'. Great rollerblading Jesus, give it a rest!
- mrgreenjeans, on 06/16/2009, -2/+11That word...
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -2/+11You should have quoted the word "word".
- gcnaddict, on 06/16/2009, -3/+11CNN had it almost consistently front-paged since the first protests broke 3-4 days ago; it was even double-columned at times. I didn't watch CNN's television coverage, but their website dedicated more time to it so far than they've done in the past for many other pieces of big news which broke in the United States.
I'm not a CNN fanboy (no really, I'm not. I'm not fond of their tendencies to turn the most trivial crap into news just for ratings), but CNN owned The Daily Show here. CNN dedicated more coverage to Iran than every other network combined, including Comedy Central.
Having said that, Twitter killed all of them for obvious reasons. - FreddieD, on 06/16/2009, -1/+7Holy *****, what in the hell are you talking about? This article has to do with CNN and Iran, and you are talking about Jon Stewart falling in line with Israel?
Not only are you factually incorrect in what you say, your tangent is really concerning. Do you also believe that Obama was created by Jews to take control of the white race? - broncfan23, on 06/16/2009, -0/+5where's it hiding?
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4Oh yeah, this is the intarwebz. I forgot I needed to be a retard and use "should of" :)
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -1/+5@AmyVernon : If you are going to use a tired clichée, at least use it properly.
No one was pwned - giveer, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4Dugg for "should have". Good for you. :)
- bbtrev, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Love you!
Comedy Central site sux for us poor Canadians......because of The Comedy Network!! - fzthps, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Thanks buddy!
- jonmlm, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3pwned? maybe they removed that video
- odkin, on 06/16/2009, -1/+4The Iranian elections are not news, in the sense they they are not really, you know, elections. The Holy Mullahs run the place, and handpicked the "opposition" candidates to prevent any actual opposition. It's just a beauty contest, altering nothing.
However, the PROTESTS and VIOLENT SUPRESSION in the aftermath of the contest actually are newsworthy, if that's what you all mean. - TonicTuna, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Not reliable
- ConfusedCartman, on 06/16/2009, -1/+4...accurate punctuation?
- glberns, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3did they even mention CNN in the video? You lied to me... ON THE INTERNET EVEN! I don't know what to believe anymore.
- crash331, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Sorry, the video you are trying to watch is not available in your region.
Damn Canadians! - Nitrodist88, on 06/16/2009, -2/+5You are a comedic genius.
- charlie55, on 06/16/2009, -1/+4this just in: cnn has always sucked. please lets not get too smug about being aware of the obvious.
- inactive, on 06/17/2009, -0/+3it's on right now and they ripped CNN for using twitter to cover the elections
which is funny because 1549 morons on digg think this
http://digg.com/world_news/Twitter_Users_Shame_CNN ... - glberns, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3you forgot the /s tag.
- BlackPawn, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2If only I could digg you up more than once...
- rainbowjinjo, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
- jonglebeats, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2Dat ass...
- tomg025, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2when are they gonna get to the fireworks factory, errrr, i mean pwning?
- inactive, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2No, tonight they OWNed CNN. I will wait for tomorrow for it to get posted and then digg it - seeing as how I can't digg the television.
- Biohazard6601, on 06/16/2009, -1/+3@AmyVernon
You are not a hardcore gamer, you are not allowed to misspell the word "owned" especially when you use it improperly - CSheikh, on 06/16/2009, -1/+3The main thing this person doesn't understand is that the proxy war has gotten much more complicated then Khamenei or Rafsanjani could have predicted.
However, any belief that the election results is true is illogical. Most Iranians don't like the current establishment, which is corrupt and limited in terms of Freedom. Never would they turn out in record numbers to support the status quo (very few ever vote because they dislike all candidates).
This year was different because the younger Iranians have increased their numbers, the high oil prices didn't help the poor, and Iran is not moving as fast as other middle eastern countries. They found hope in Mousavi because Mousavi adopted the policies that the young generation was pushing (not vice versa). - inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2African Mirror please...
- HappyScrappy, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2No. This is only the case if you deluded yourself into thinking CNN wasn't covering the Iran elections, despite their numerous stories including lead stories over the weekend.
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2I watched CNN througout the weekend & must say their coverage was a lot more than BBC( A lot about British MP's expenses & economy) & even Aljazeera (who covered more on Israel/Palestine & Netanyahu speech).
- diggbru, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Yes, they did.
- Kali075, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1I think the supposed pwning was just on their use of a "magic board" for election coverage rather than whether CNN covers Iran well or not.
- Abatrour, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1Did CNN also say that the police were beating and arresting any news reporters and then stealing their footage?
Did they also say that their government cut off their cell phone service and internet? And that protesters are being killed?
But really did they? I don't watch CNN and I am curious, - buckrogers1965, on 06/16/2009, -1/+2The Daily show always has the best election coverage. Better than any news show.
- kaosethema, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1pwned
- falconear, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Like Jon Stewart gives a rat's ass about his supposed Jewish faith. Do you know how many Jews I know that are atheists, and could care less about Israel? I'm of Scottish descent, but I don't think about Scot/English relations all that often.
- Arcangelce, on 06/17/2009, -1/+2Seeing as CNN had a lot of coverage on Iran. Anderson Cooper, Lou Dobbs, ect also had coverage of Iran election and protests. I don’t see where CNN got Pwned. In fact. CNN had more coverage of it than most of the other news agencies.
Burying this for the use of the made up word Pwned. - gcnaddict, on 06/16/2009, -1/+2Well, yeah. That alone means The Daily Show can't claim to have owned CNN.
- kaosethema, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1buried for inaccurate title
- Wicaeed, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1I like how the ad plays, but when it comes the actual video, we aren't allowed to watch it.
I knew it was a foreign ad because it was a soccer ad :( -
