- lucidguru, on 05/12/2008, -41/+214When you watch the television programs, you start to notice how the reporters were just interviewing random people on the street and no one really knew what was going on. It's easy to see why there were many false reports of what happened that day.
Even after the 9/11 report I'm still not convinced that even our government has a very good idea of what exactly happened that day. There are numerous inaccuracies in the report (e.g. cellphone use on flight 93) and then there is way too much controversy on why both towers collapsed the way they did... why building 7 fell... what happened to the pentagon. But none of this matters.
I don't believe that our country will ever have any good answers, but I just hope that citizens will not let another terror event drag us into another war and let the government further destroy our civil liberties. - mediaphile, on 05/12/2008, -10/+104I remember seeing all this coverage live as it happened. My mother woke me up before school right after the first tower was hit, when they were still unsure if it had been an accident or not. Watching the second plane hit the second tower was...I still can't even describe how it felt. Shocking, obviously. I'll never forget it. And then to see both towers collapse like that... I'm very glad that the footage from this terrible day in our history has been preserved in some form. I live on the completely opposite side of the country, and to this day it still chokes me up see this.
- DiggLive, on 05/12/2008, -43/+112Here come the "truthers"...
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -6/+54Although I still struggle to watch events from that day, this is an amazing resource. Thanks for posting it.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -12/+55the 'sick *****' that want to piece together what actually happened that day instead of burying their head in the sand?
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -9/+54Do they have the video of when BBC announced building 7 collapse before it happened? :P
- dagnabbit, on 05/12/2008, -9/+53Years later, that footage is still incredibly haunting.
Thanks for messing up my Monday. - MalkyMalc, on 05/12/2008, -2/+41Watching different viewpoints helps you get your own viewpoint straight. This is a great resource.
- CypressQ, on 05/12/2008, -4/+40I don't find that odd at all.
- erasedgod, on 05/12/2008, -0/+32Tubes are getting all clogged up. We need more tubes.
- diggstown, on 05/12/2008, -11/+44It's a shame that these comments are loaded with discussions about politics, conspiracy, and blame.
Regardless of what you believe, that day was a tragedy on a scale that most of those commenting still can't fully comprehend. - curtis87xc03, on 05/12/2008, -1/+27Fox News usually has the best coverage of events like this, its just the political coverage you want to ignore.

I am confident in saying: History shows that your hopes are likely misplaced (Internment camps, the red scare, etc.) - inactive, on 05/12/2008, -3/+30The howardstern broadcast on 9-11 should be added.
- jordanlgta, on 05/12/2008, -2/+29Is it just me or has the entire internet become slower over the past year?
- Pssdoff, on 05/12/2008, -4/+28No, there probably was a shiny object that distracted the masses. No one cares that the media preemptively reported a collapse. No one ***** finds it suspicious at all...
- rotten777, on 05/12/2008, -2/+24The same people who believe "Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It"...
- iticu, on 05/12/2008, -11/+36I'm still kind of confused over building seven. =-|
- wwwdot1jesdotus, on 05/12/2008, -2/+22I gotta say, I love internet archive.
- OC73, on 05/12/2008, -10/+35RIP - Never Forget
- SkippyDoorknob, on 05/12/2008, -2/+21Yeah, the same way all the YouTube videos of 9-11 were taken down years ago... Oh wait, they weren't...
- svetty, on 05/12/2008, -1/+17The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic. -Stalin
- CrucifiedEgo, on 05/12/2008, -4/+20Normally I'd bury it just because it has a tag saying Submitter: MrBabyMan. However, this is impressive. I've often wondered if these would ever be made public. Kudos for the link.
- curtis87xc03, on 05/12/2008, -1/+15CNN's headquarters is in Atlanta and MSNBC was based out of New Jersey at the time
- TrevorBradley, on 05/12/2008, -5/+20Agreed. Another terror event of similar magnitude could potentially wipe those liberties for good.
- wasabimonster, on 05/12/2008, -0/+14You just changed the course of history.
- counterplex, on 05/12/2008, -1/+16Severus, bring the Veritaserum, quick!
- Indierocka, on 05/12/2008, -0/+14I dugg you up for not calling everyone a sheep and for being open minded.
- k3yFrame, on 05/12/2008, -2/+15^ NSFW
wtf? Didn't need to see that. - mellomeh, on 05/12/2008, -19/+38It's pretty odd that Fox News had arguably the best coverage on the day.
- IIDXBoss, on 05/12/2008, -4/+16First off, the things you listed are natural disasters. Completely different than the murder of thousands of innocents while at work.
Secondly, how does the death of more people make the death of those on 9/11 any less significant? People die every day. Just because people died on 9.11 doesn't mean those who dies in the holocaust should be forgotten. - Pssdoff, on 05/12/2008, -6/+28Yeah, Wikipedia knows what happened on 9/11... How could it possibly be wrong.
- KMartSheriff, on 05/12/2008, -10/+21Go climb a wall of dicks, asshead.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 05/12/2008, -10/+22Look, we could easily get straight and honest answers, if someone injected a conscience into Bush and Cheney and they were forced to quit lying for a day.

- SilverStandard, on 05/12/2008, -4/+15I wonder if this includes BBC reporting WTC 7 collapse 20+ minutes before it happened...
- CiXeL, on 05/12/2008, -8/+19theres too much stuff in 9/11 that requires too much explaining. for this reason alone i think something fishy was up. i do not know what but i get the impression the government isn't giving us the whole story. i think most Americans feel this way.
the only thing this administration has been consistent in is lying to us. - roebeet, on 05/12/2008, -1/+12To add to what's already been stated... I used to work at Cantor Fitzgerald on the 102nd-105th floors in the North Tower, my wife had worked in Building 7, and I knew one person on the plane that hit the NT. I was a mile away in Chelsea when this happened, and saw the North Tower fall. I was there, and I knew more than a few of the people who died.
With that in mind - 9/11/01 conspiracy theorists don't bother me too much. Some of them are just trying to be open-minded and that's a good thing. But the real extremists that believe things like the planes were holograms and that the passengers are in hiding, were killed by the government, etc. Those people really bother me, as they don't think about the families who lost a loved one, and how stuff like this makes THEM feel. - Corrosionx, on 05/12/2008, -11/+23Truth is such a dirty word. Everybody who wants to know the truth is a wacko!
- thall, on 05/12/2008, -0/+10not in the context of entertainment, but of education.
- westcor, on 05/12/2008, -12/+24Watch the BBC video at 4:54 PM, they report WTC 7 was destroyed, only problem that didn't happen for 27 more minutes; ***** you can see WTC 7 in the background at some points. Check out there other networks, they report it at the correct time
- Winston84, on 05/12/2008, -1/+11The entire archive is also available as torrent (42GB, selective download allowed)
http://www.conspiracycentral.net:6969/stats.html?i ... - Grahamcracker, on 05/12/2008, -0/+10There were a lot of things floating around on the news that morning. I remember something about a car bomb outside the Empire State Building and another plane crashing into Camp David.
- WRXFiles, on 05/12/2008, -1/+11When there is actually news to report they do a good job.
When there is no real 'news' to report (most days) and they have to make up something to fill the space and grab your attention? Well... They make up something to fill the space and grab your attention - what did you expect them to do?!?!? - nbcaffeine, on 05/12/2008, -4/+13I can't. You ***** won't let me.
- IIDXBoss, on 05/12/2008, -0/+9Very true. Not only were they watching it like everyone else in the world was, they were flipping between plenty of channels as well as having several people call live from the scene to explain what was happening.
Stern and the crew was right down in the thick of it and they just kept going. One of the best broadcasts to watch the events unfold on. - rockefeller2, on 05/12/2008, -2/+12Osama bin Laden won. He is responsible for the catalyst that started the self destruction of this country. The entire world (the sane parts at least) felt sympathy for the US immediately after 9/11. Now everyone hates us. The economy is in the toilet because of a meaningless war. The value of the dollar has dropped like no other time in history. Osama bin Laden brought down the world power, which was the United States. 19 chumps with some box cutters. WTF.
- cerejota, on 05/12/2008, -7/+17Who remembers the mystery fire on the Mall in Washington DC? And to the reports of car bombs in DC?
Fog of war?
I thought I was crazy, but they are there... - svetty, on 05/12/2008, -3/+12You're right, we should all be talking about how sad we are. I'm, like, the MOST sad.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -1/+10do they have the clip of them reporting a plane crashed at camp david, and that 9/11 is the aniversary of the camp david accords?
