- ivansusanin, on 09/02/2008, -6/+149***** your anti-Canadian video player, comedycentral.com!
- Robustica, on 09/02/2008, -5/+113Colbert has his own flavor of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Isn't that better than religion?
- mattyx, on 09/02/2008, -8/+109Dawkins said it best:
Even Christians are atheists about gods of other religions. We just take it one god further.
There's no tooth fairy either. Sorry.
/m/ - StevesJobs, on 09/02/2008, -2/+66As a few said above, Colbert is a devout Catholic and teaches sunday school. Thats one of the reasons I respect him so much, he can make fun of himself.
- bjenidles, on 09/02/2008, -5/+67I hope God doesn't bury this.
- BCBomb47, on 09/02/2008, -4/+60"What do you yell during sex?
Ooohhh, Charles Darwin! Do that again!" - VdgX, on 09/02/2008, -1/+54Stephen Colbert (The real guy, not the character) actually teaches Sunday School when he gets the chance to.
- malex, on 09/02/2008, -2/+41Actually, it isn't too bad for them. Colbert (when he's not in character) respects the religious freedom of Atheists, and they respect his.
Because he's not a dick about it. - stalman, on 09/02/2008, -5/+42Not such a helpful list for Canadians.
- JasonCox, on 09/02/2008, -0/+37Morgan Freeman is on Digg?
:-P - NateTheGreat7, on 09/02/2008, -0/+34"I'm a huge fan of abortion. I like performing them, getting them, watching them, you name it. Then again, I think Communion wafers are delicious."

***** 101
***** - the world is too complicated for my tiny brain, there must be a big invisible sky daddy making it all happen. - emt1451, on 09/03/2008, -0/+24I wonder what percentage of Diggers are atheist.
- JNudda, on 09/02/2008, -0/+22woooooosh
- RSS14, on 09/02/2008, -0/+19God dammit! Can someone please compile the videos for us Canadians?
- ulmedas, on 09/02/2008, -1/+20I still encourage the use of "god" in salacious situations, but generally only if I am the one being referenced.
- GregFD3S, on 09/02/2008, -1/+19They're hosers.
- hackop, on 09/03/2008, -0/+18Is that like one of those "What is the sound of one hand clapping" sort of Zen statements?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -1/+18Very clever. Did you read that on a bumper sticker?
- deevay, on 09/02/2008, -6/+23I am canadian, and so can... YOU suck!! can't watch video. :( ...
mirror? - fangorious, on 09/03/2008, -1/+17Oh Mr Babyman! Bury it, Bury it!
- funklor, on 09/02/2008, -3/+18Chances are its the CTV douchebags that're responsible for this. Canadian companies like to bitch and moan and strike deals so Canadians are dependent on them for content.
- jaromdl, on 09/02/2008, -2/+16en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadband
- MelvinSchlubman, on 09/02/2008, -2/+15Call us when that first part *actually* happens; and not just in your head.
- fishermat33, on 09/03/2008, -3/+16Apparently we don't know the same Catholics.
- FDL1, on 09/02/2008, -1/+14Dugg for Dawkins
- Jack8274, on 09/02/2008, -1/+13Your face is over rated, by saying it's a face. BURN!
- cutchyacokov, on 09/02/2008, -0/+12That is Colbert's character. He is loosely based on far-right pundits from the main stream media in the US and, it should be noted, is high satirical.
- commenter01, on 09/03/2008, -1/+12Excuse me mister, the burden of proof is on the claimant.
- DNABeast, on 09/03/2008, -1/+12God only has one digg, just like the rest of us.
- ciano, on 09/02/2008, -2/+12Colbert is a devout Catholic.
- Uzael, on 09/02/2008, -1/+11FIND: "Atheist"
REPLACE: "Christian" - StevesJobs, on 09/02/2008, -0/+10Yeah, these ccinsider posts are starting to frustrate me.
- EvilCan, on 09/03/2008, -1/+11I am an Atheist myself, but I hate it when people make offensive comments towards people who don't believe the same as them.
What really bugs me is the way the same Atheists who will bash Christians in one thread will conveniently forget that Colbert is Catholic in this thread because he's funny and he's on TV. - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+10Um, no, TRScheel. We just don't assume that there are more invisible creatures in the room than we need to.
- mistermaster, on 09/03/2008, -1/+10TRScheel is right. You can't discount God's existence, just like you can't disprove the invisible-intangible gnome dancing over my head, that keeps telling me (telephatically, as it is inaudible, too) to digg him down.
- GregFD3S, on 09/02/2008, -0/+9"Genocidal stupidity".
My new favorite quote. - jaromdl, on 09/02/2008, -1/+10I know it's satire, but I genuinely feel bad for people who cross Colbert's path.
He's good. - Dereliction, on 09/03/2008, -0/+9To repeat what you said more succinctly (and for purposes of clarity):
1) if e = mc^2 then m = e/c^2
2) if e = mc^2 is true then it is true that god exists
The problem is that your proposition, e = mc^2 and m = e/c^2, in no way implies that "god" must necessarily follow as a conclusion. Your argument is invalid, in other words. You're missing a premises necessary to demonstrate that the conclusion is necessary. For example:
1) if a is true then b is true.
2) if b is true then c is true.
3) therefore, if a is true then c is true
Valid logical argument. Valid premises' followed by a necessary conclusion--if a is true then c must be true.
In your argument, you've shown #1 and immediately jump to #3 without demonstrating the chain of logic needed in #2. So, try again--willing to hear your argument if you can put it forth validly. Prove god exists and you'll be famous and endeared by mankind. There's that too. - rkef, on 09/03/2008, -0/+9*****
- futebollounge, on 09/03/2008, -1/+10well because no one has proven god's existence it is makes sense to discount it
- jaromdl, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8Except for Dawkins; I genuinely feel bad for Colbert.
He's good. - metalgel, on 09/02/2008, -4/+12Christmas is a time where people of all religions come together to worship Jesus Christ.
- veijeri, on 09/03/2008, -1/+8You're laying the burden of proof on the wrong person.
- shawn1122, on 09/03/2008, -2/+9Yes he is, but I don't entirely blame him. The comments against religion that are dugg up here are sometimes really inappropriate, which can be really disappointing to see.
- supermanly, on 09/02/2008, -0/+7Uh, I'm a Hindu, so everything's chill.
How about that? - sephiroth965, on 09/03/2008, -1/+8No one is saying they know for sure that god doesn't exist, just that we don't believe there is a god because there is absolutely no evidence of one.
