- bixby1, on 03/21/2009, -4/+70This article really captures the bittersweet night very well. I'm a fan. One last digg for Battlestar (until the re-reboot)
- Enceladus, on 03/22/2009, -4/+56Absolutely loved the finale. The first half was action packed BSG at it's best, and the second half was bittersweet saying goodbye to all the characters I've come to love.
- monkeyman121, on 03/22/2009, -4/+54It was such a fantastic show, it will be greatly missed. I can only hope that the new spinoff Caprica will be good
- ddogfilm, on 03/21/2009, -6/+44awesome show!
- MacroDaemon, on 03/22/2009, -4/+39The religious theme was set in the miniseries. Only a blind man couldn't have seen that the ending would have a similar theme.
Every key episode in the series had religious mythical undertones.
Mid season 3:
The denial of the one true path, played out on a world not their own, will end soon enough. Soon there will be four, glorious in awakening, struggling with the knowledge of their true selves, the pain of revelation bringing new clarity, and in the midst of confusion, he will find her. Enemies brought together by impossible longing, enemies now joined as one. The way forward at once unthinkable, yet inevitable. And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin, but in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into the many, and then they will join the promised-land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning. - protonone, on 03/22/2009, -10/+38I thought the ending was great. To all the people upset about how not everything was explained in great detail, then you obviously didn't truly understand the ending. It was all about faith and believing in what you want, whether it is the gods, or Baltar's god, or just having a belief in something higher than yourself. Sometimes, you have to figure out things for yourself, and believe what you want without someone telling you. By not explaining everything, they allowed the show to live forever, for their can always be speculation for as long as people choose to enjoy a great program.
- Paulish, on 03/22/2009, -5/+32I look at all the people complaining about Starbuck's dissaperance or Baltar's appearance 150k years later, and I have to laugh to myself. This is what the writers wanted. They wanted to drive you crazy, they wanted you to go insane not knowing what happened. You can't just clap the dust off your hands and set this series on the shelf in your mind saying to yourself "Well, that wraps everything up, I'm done with that" because there is so much we don't know. Battlestar Galactica may no longer be on TV but it is alive and well in the minds of everyone who watched the show the whole way through. We are all playing out the possible scenarios in our head.
You will carry this show with you for the rest of your life. You can't get rid of it. As Morpheus said "It is like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad." - RobbieF, on 03/22/2009, -1/+25As a musician, I'd like to be the first to say: Thank you BSG, for making me paranoid about every single piece of music I come across.
<no spoilers on purpose> - doctordbx, on 03/22/2009, -14/+36Record for biggest Deus Ex Machina?

- wobblebottom, on 03/22/2009, -4/+23I'm glad to have seen the old girl go out in a noble manner. I enjoyed the last episode, for all its faults it was a great way to end the show. Leaving room for debate makes the ending all the more appropriate in my opinion. I'm sad that the show is over because now I have no clue what show to fill the enormous void left by the passing of BSG. I'd like to maybe get in to a well established good show. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should check out as far as good TV is concerned?
- mklopez, on 03/22/2009, -1/+20NOT A SPOILER, REALLY: The scene with the original BSG music on it (you know which one if you have seen the ep) was incredibly moving, as a SF fan I almost choked... good move, RDM!
- UNDERSTAR, on 03/22/2009, -1/+20YYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- missjb, on 03/22/2009, -0/+17Sarah Connor Chron = Fox. Battlestar = Sci-fi. these are huge numbers for a CABLE show
- dmanmax99, on 03/22/2009, -1/+18at least 2.4 million people.
- idontlikeyou2, on 03/22/2009, -4/+21I am mixed on the ending. The first hour up to the opera hous scene was fantastic. The "god" explanation was weak. I don't mind a spiritual explanation but it felt such a discontinuity with how the narrative in the last few season progressed. They could've just said they woke up and it was all just a bad dream.
- jsffive, on 03/22/2009, -11/+27Conversely:
Boss: How do we power our ships?
Writers: We have some magical substance called "tillium"
Boss: How do we get the ship to travel lightyears at a time?
Writers: We have this "technology" called a "jump drive"...
Boss: WOOO, now the viewers don't have to think!!!
What I don't get is, SUDDENLY, we're supposed to stop suspending our disbelief, because God is now being used as a plot device... in a SCIENCE FICTION STORY?!?!?! You're just NOW trying to throw the ***** flag?
Here's an idea: Get off your soapbox, and just get over it. - Adgeman, on 03/22/2009, -4/+19Interesting ending to a truly great show. Congratulations and thank you to the cast and crew. TV feels a little bit more empty now.

- inactive, on 03/22/2009, -0/+13Get gutted by their new owners and become crap.
- alukima, on 03/22/2009, -1/+14I loved the show but I am glad they ended it. I am sad I have to find a new series to obsess over, but I am so glad they didn't just drag it on and on.
- Paulish, on 03/22/2009, -1/+12"I'm looking out at faces here who are in anticipation of watching a new 'Battlestar Galactica' -- and that will not happen again."
It has happened before. It will happen again. - ReDoEr, on 03/22/2009, -2/+13I do. Maybe you should just hang out on reddit since the BSG stuff is here. Don't worry, nobody here will miss you. Really.
- cloudberries, on 03/22/2009, -2/+12"Deus ex Machina: An unexpected, artificial, or improbable character, device, or event introduced suddenly in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation or untangle a plot."
If you thought it was unexpected, then you really haven't been paying attention. - trekie1701, on 03/22/2009, -1/+11SO SAY WE ALL!

- Firespray1138, on 03/22/2009, -0/+9And Romo, who received a battlefield promotion in the finale, says, "I'm still the f--king president."
LOL - saisumimen, on 03/22/2009, -0/+9Tom Zarek comes back from the dead as a space zombie and kills everyone on Galactica. Final shot is him staring at the screen, covered in blood and he says in a zombie voice "DID I DO THAAAAT?" (a la Steve Urkel), then the screen blacks out into a small circle around his face (a la Porky Pig in "Looney Tunes").
- prodigitalson, on 03/22/2009, -2/+10I've watched a lot of series that i love end. I have to say, without a doubt, this was the best, most satisfying finale i've seen from any series so far.

- swizzcheez, on 03/22/2009, -2/+10Why are you so certain it was actually God (capital G). This was the first time Head Baltar said "He hates being called that" as if to imply it is NOT really God, but a higher being/sentience. At least that's what I got out of it.
- Tabris82, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8SO SAY WE ALL!
- cloudberries, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8The problem with getting too many answers is that it leaves you fulfilled for about 5 minutes, then you're like "Oh well, that's that then"
By leaving things open, you get to continue the story in your own mind, and imagine how things worked for yourself, a much more satisfying way to end things, in the long run. - jazzmess, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8Ha ha, president Romo Lamkin. I love that.
- MisterNipples, on 03/22/2009, -2/+10RIP BSG
- xelloss, on 03/22/2009, -2/+10Awesome, loved every bit of Battlestar Galactica. Its such a bittersweet moment to finally know the end of this story, and I will remember it forever.
- Gleemonex, on 03/22/2009, -0/+7I'm an atheist and I loved the ending.
The only place religion belongs is in fiction. - Genady, on 03/22/2009, -1/+8Starbuck's questioning of what she is is no more pointless than any other person's. What are you?

- Ev3nt372, on 03/22/2009, -0/+7Yes I cant wait for the re-re imagining /continuation that takes place like around the year 3000 on Earth when our robot slaves rebel against us and nuke the ***** out of the Earth leaving only 5,000 survivors exiled to the voids of space and learn of their real history and the cycle of destruction.

- InfernoX, on 03/22/2009, -1/+7Personally I'm gonna check out Caprica. Not sure if I like the premise of it but what the hell it's the same writers so maybe it'll be as great as BSG given time.
- mycoplasma, on 03/22/2009, -0/+6That Star Wars show on Cartoon Network (The Clone Wars) is surprisingly good considering it's a kid show based on the prequel trilogy.
- Hybred1234, on 03/22/2009, -1/+7He thinks he's internet suave because he hasn't watched any most notable shows. Little does he know he's a jackass for thinking it.
- dartmanx, on 03/22/2009, -3/+9It won't.
- positron, on 03/22/2009, -0/+6Star Wars is not sci-fi. It's sci-fantasy.
- Ne007, on 03/22/2009, -1/+7I'm torn here.
I hate frakin prequels, but I love Battlestar..... - flyingclutchman, on 03/22/2009, -0/+5I thought it was pretty obvious that she was an angel sent from god.
