- buddysystem, on 04/08/2009, -1/+19Heh. "Arse cracks"
- noblestrife, on 04/08/2009, -8/+25Some one asked if it got better? I watched until the 7th episode and simply gave up.
Show formula:
World is in danger because it's infected/terrorized/threatened by _______. The team struggles to find an antidote/weapon/solution but comes up with jack. The old scientist suddenly remembers he once worked on ________ long ago and has the fix in his car/garage/storage. The day is saved.
Without exaggeration, this is the basic formula of the first seven episodes and I felt like my intelligence as a viewer was insulted. - momzilla54, on 04/07/2009, -8/+24Fascinating. But this show is awesome with or without a code.
- DeadPlasmaCell, on 04/08/2009, -1/+14That's why I stopped watching House.
- Osirus1156, on 04/08/2009, -1/+14Am I the only one who didn't know that was supposed to be a code?
- dtfinch, on 04/08/2009, -1/+12Title made me laugh a bit.
- BeardedClem, on 04/08/2009, -3/+14True, the medical mystery part of the show is pretty formulaic but what really makes House good is the character interaction and dialogue. Best thing on TV right now.
- andrew606, on 04/08/2009, -3/+12now if only we could get people like this to work on problems that actually matter.
- BeardedClem, on 04/08/2009, -0/+6Wasn't planned by the writers, the actor that plays Kutner got tapped by the Obama administration so he quit the show. I think it was a stroke of genius to have him commit suicide unexpectedly, it's jarring as hell and the way that House is taking it has created a whole new facet to the character.
Great stuff. - therealkid, on 09/10/2009, -2/+7I thought it was interesting simply for the fact that they're likely going to bring back the Child in some way, which will help uncover the mystery of the Observer. Why does everything always have to be BANG! BANG! FLASH! PRETTY COLORS! with you people. For me, it delivered, even if only for that fact that it finally came back.
For the dude that gave the basic formula for this show, kudos. You've cracked another one of Fringe's secrets. That it operates the same as any show/story out there. Every story (good ones) should have a structure to follow and this is Fringe's. What you're forgetting though is the overarching plot. Every episode is another piece of the puzzle to the bigger mystery.
Why not watch it? I delivers more interesting stories, more humorous one-liners, more questions than most of the other crap on TV today. - Cronikeys, on 04/08/2009, -0/+4Stop! Wait! You've got to stop it!! The numbers are bad! Stop! What are doing!? Why did you do that?!?!
- GalacticRerun, on 04/08/2009, -0/+4It's even better for those that use UK English cause we say arse crack.
- HanSolo69, on 04/08/2009, -1/+5Yes, but can he crack the u-boat transmissions I've been picking up on my fillings for the last few months?
- Asrrin29, on 04/08/2009, -1/+4Yeah, the patient of the day has really been pushed to the background. It's simply a novelty for me now to find out how House saves them, I'm much more interested in the character development.
- jayskulls, on 04/08/2009, -2/+5My TiVo missed the last 7 minutes of Fringe tonight because fehkin American Idol ran over >.<
- raviu90, on 04/08/2009, -0/+3digg my first comment down
theres more then one observer apparently
when the CIA agent was on the phone he said
"we may have found another" - raviu90, on 04/08/2009, -0/+3"Oh i have an erection"
- SchizoDuckie, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2, the solutions for the episodes to date are:
1: OBSERVER
2: CHILD
3: AEGER [? -- AETHER would make more sense for the episode]
4: ROGUE
5: SURGG [should be SURGE?]
6: CELLS
7: CODES
8: TAKEN
9: VOICE
10: TRADE
11: SAVED
12: BISHOP
13: AVIAN
14: OLIVIA - mdavis, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2If you're going to pick a show to single out as having great writing, Battlestar Galactica shouldn't be one right now.
- ctnp, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2Better get used to DVR-warfare.
- sonofthor, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2It takes a few episodes to get what this show is trying to be. It's rather like a self-aware B movie. X-Files without the skepticism. Crazy crazy mess happens and you just have to roll with it. It takes a bit of time to get accustomed to the tone because there really isn't much else out there like this. But if you stick with the show for about half a season, I think you'll find yourself more likely to get hooked.
- teamgwho, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2last night walter was wearing a robe and came a bit uncovered. when his son complained he said
"I'm sure Agent Dunham knows what a penis looks like!"
FRINGE IS BACK! - raviu90, on 04/08/2009, -1/+3well he is kinda insane.genius
- raviu90, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2HURLEY HURLEY HURLEY STOP STOP STOP
YOU GOTTA GET BACK
YOU GOTTA GET BACK
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM - bills534, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2***** American Idol
- teamgwho, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2i too missed it because american idol ran over... and now we know why... it was the observers fault...
http://io9.com/5203213/what-is-the-observer-trying ... - Cronikeys, on 04/08/2009, -2/+4Character development like Kutner killing himself out of nowhere. Sure, it is one of the first shows to have a suicide where there really wasn't a cookie-cutter reason, but I really liked him :( He was my favorite of the new doctors.
- mobiusred, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2Walter
- bpeacock22, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2I'm sure Ms. Dunham has seen a penis before.
- driftwood07, on 04/08/2009, -1/+3impressive deciphering
- ctnp, on 04/08/2009, -1/+2Not inspiring much hope, fellas.
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -3/+4I watched the pilot episode, and wasn't really impressed. Does it get better? It looked cool, but I was kind of bored. I'd pick it up again if I knew it got better.
- whimmel, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1When the networks pull this ***** we just download the torrents. We win. CBS does it every week to screw the monday schedule.
- Rsulliv1, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1I can't believe you mention "humorous one-liners". Pacey is a joke. His acting & delivery is horrible. He's so unbelieving of each situation regardless of the unbelievable things he's already seen. it's as if he only has a five minute memory.
And the main woman, she has the dumbest look on her face whenever she's not talking. Seriously, watch her face during any reaction shot and she'll appear completely dumbfounded.
I thought this was just a sub-par x-files up until the last episode. The idea of two universes competing is interesting, but they have to actually work on that theme in order to keep the show unique. All of this random stuff happening without any context is worthless, imo.
(and, lost still is the best show on tv even if the last three episodes were a bit slow :)) - Cronikeys, on 04/08/2009, -2/+3I thought the pilot was good, but the next 4 or 5 episodes were pretty bad. Things get interesting later in the season though!
Lost is my favorite show and I had high hopes for this J.J. project, but "Lie to Me" is a much better new FOX show. - dman24752, on 04/08/2009, -7/+8Man! That's so interesting that I'm still not interested in watching.
- MrTeQ, on 04/08/2009, -1/+2wat
- aabril, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1dugg for "ars cracks"
- Traiklin, on 04/08/2009, -1/+2it is a good series and takes a bit to get into, the only downfall is the one(s) doing the scheduling cause they are making it rather difficult to get into it when you have 3 episodes then repeats for 3 then 2 new episodes then repeats (or not even on) for 5 or 6 then you get a new episode then back to repeats, it get's to the point you don't even know where the story is cause they ***** it up that much.
Best bet is to download the episodes in order so you can actually fallow the storyline. - duniyadnd, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1http://www.hulu.com/watch/66310/fringe-inner-child
- Remelox, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1I do. But not enough to do anything about it. For now I shall allow it to exist.
- duniyadnd, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1http://www.hulu.com/watch/66310/fringe-inner-child
- Kinsbane, on 04/08/2009, -1/+2I'd known the show was going to be like that based off interviews with Orci and Kurtzman before the pilot went on the air. I love everything about the show, though, and how Massive Dynamic has its hands in everything and what else there is to "The Pattern".
- wonko33, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1with last night's clues I guess we can add the letter W, a hand, fingers up, thumb on the left, dot on the right is a W, it spelled Walter.
- darkane, on 04/08/2009, -12/+12Among the weird-guy-that-solves-crimes-using-science-math-or-strange-abilities dramas, this show is an absolute failure. The first half of the season was decent. Everything since should have never been put on television.
I believe the exact moment that the show failed was when they decided that this line (paraphrased) would be necessary to make sure we knew the guy was strange:
"Oh, I have an erection. But it's not due to your state of undress. I have to urinate." - Robuster, on 04/08/2009, -0/+0House: sarcasm porn
- Animal, on 04/08/2009, -5/+5Yeah I watched the pilot and the next 2 or 3 episodes but couldn't get over how terrible the writing was and how ludicrous the plot lines were.
