- daRoach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This looks like an excellent source for begining animators.
- pintong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is GREAT news! This is good for them and good for Creative Commons.
- Tiles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Actually, it's rather useful to see the other comments on this story that I might not see on this particular thread.
- skaughtm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ohh, maybe they'll put their salaries up there too. dibs!
- there4iam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This has to be a record -- two versions of this story appear on the front page at the same time!
That's is like a super dupe or something . . . - boomerxl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Niloc0, it appears that your dream has (partially) come true. Two submissions of this story on the main page at the same time.
Wow. - there, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3
For once someone in the entertainment industry seeing the public is not their enemy and there are ways to work with us. I really hope this attitude takes off when all the greedy crusty old execs have finally gone into retirement.
I know absolutely nothing about the show but I'm going to make it a point to watch at least one episode out of principle. - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nice, I always liked the CC licences as they're easy to understand. I like them more than those GNU variants actually, and you can be more specific in what you want without still breaking the ease of understanding them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yep, saw that after I made the comment. Got to wonder if it was coincidence or if a bunch of people decided it would be amusing to have the same story on the front page twice after all.
- airmann90, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is one of my favorite shows on TV, I love it, as there are always so many cameo appearances and the storyline and plots are great. This is definately cool news.
- chesterton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was just thinking the other day that it was only a matter of time until someone released this sort of thing under creative commons.
Consider it the Anti-Disney. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4No such thing as dupe on Digg. Sometimes the same link is submitted multiple times and only one of them makes it due to a better headline or random chance. Wasn't the first one? Doesn't matter, it's the one people voted for. Sometimes the same story shows up on the front page multiple times with very similar headlines. Still doesn't matter - people voted for it a second, third or twenty-fifth time so it's still valid. That's how Digg works.
Theoretically the same story could make the front page multiple times in the same day. I was thinking that'd be a nice April Fools day joke for the users to play on the people behind the scenes. Just keep promoting the same link with the same description (or very close to it) over and over until the home page is nothing but that link repeated ad naseum. Perhaps we could use the never-ending blog-link loop - the only that just keeps describing an interesting story and saying "click here to read more", which brings you to another description of the same story on a different blog with "click here to read more" and so on and so on and so on... - bgnam8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If its good enough for Tony winning Don McKellar to play the lead season after season & guest stars weekly like Leslie Neilson, Jason Alexander, John Goodman, Megan Fallows, Christian Slater, Jerry Stiller, Sean Cullen, Molly Parker, Tom Green & the Bare Naked Ladies it has to be good. Must be your lack of a sense of humor.

No problemo. I get days where I get like that too.:)
The anonymity of the Internet makes us feel safe to let it all out. Lately I've generally tried to visualize the person I'm speaking to is a 300 pound prison convict sitting next to me in the effort to keep myself more polite. - matty3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks for all of the positive comments peeps! as you can see from the cache of art we've made available, a lot of work goes into making this show, so it's great to see that's it's appreciated by a few rats along the way.
note: if you've never seen OJJ and plan on tuning in, give a couple of weeks/episodes to grow on you and you'll appreciate it that much more.
thanks again and keep tuning in saturday's at 9:30 EDT! - TheKingInYellow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'm currently using after effects to do a cool animated short for a big network. it's incredibly easy to use and i can do most effects within AE. i was looking around at the tutorial section on oddjobjack.com and it said that flash was used to do the animation. i would love to see those flash files that control the main animation of the show because i don't know whole lot about flash and i think that particular file would be an even greater resource to the shows public files.
- nogami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The only thing I wish they'd do is remove the bit about:
"These files are big so we have to use a dirty little protocol called bit torrent."
Comeon guys, there's nothing wrong with bittorrent, it's just a way of moving files around. - alinardo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This comment was meant for Jimmie Jaz's comment, not there's. I apologize there.
- TheKingInYellow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'm intrigued. why use final cut? wouldn't after effects be easier?
thanks for the reply, check out some of my animations here: monolithcreative.com - bgnam8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great idea, great show.
- backgrounder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Super give away. You can check out everything from the backgrounds to the mouth animations with full rotation of characters. WOW
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you don't GET the show, that's one thing... But it's certainly not a terrible show...
- matty3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you mean "ugly" like that comment? do you have anything constructive to add, or are you just content to be a douchebag skellener?
- gamerage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can watch an episode streaming right from the site: http://www.oddjobjack.com/feature.php
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It was a joke.
- gamerage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The 900+ meg torrent for episode 302 is up now on a very high speed seed provided by legaltorrents.com
http://www.legaltorrents.com/bit/odd-job-jack-episode-2-art.torrent - gamerage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And now 303's 893 meg torrent is up:
http://www.legaltorrents.com/bit/odd-job-jack-episode-3-art.torrent - TheKingInYellow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1where is the main FLA file for the show? i see all of the visual assets but where is the main file that controls them all and where are the audio files?
that's what i was hoping for. the parts are all cool and all but i want to see the main file that makes everything work. if it is there someone please point it out to me. - emocean, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Good PR if nothing else, I'll watch the next EP when it shows.
:: - violeta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1THE BEST ANIMATION RESOURCE EVER!!!
- skellener, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Kudos for Creative Commons! Neat idea for publicity anyway. However, it's still got a whole lot of ugly in it! I mean, it's reaaaaaallly ugly. Take some design courses.
- matty3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0...it all just gets composited in master "shot" .flas, then assembled in final cut. those files with all of the audio and effects are friggin' huge, so we don't put them out there. besides which, i think that once it's all put together it becomes the license of the comedy network, so it's not really ours to give away anymore. am i right smiley guys?
thanks for the interest though TheKingInYellow.
who's your brother CAR7ER? i probably walk by him 10 times a day! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I've always wanted to see the source file of a pro animation. The following link is my best animation so far: http://newgrounds.com/portal/view/293154
So as you can see, it'll definately help! Haha. - jimmiejaz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2God, this show SUCKS BURTONSACKS. I've tried watching it over the seasons, and it's worse than Joey ever could be. In the end, big deal. Yet another Canadian taxpayer funded P.O.S being pawned off.
- CAR7ER, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my brother works there.
- eco2you, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0wow, that's great news!
http://www.eco2you.co.uk - DasPope, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2suck it mafiaa,
oh wait its canada - CAR7ER, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dave W
- Sleepsure, on 06/30/2008, -0/+0Good if your just starting out in Animation
- matty3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it would probably be easier to use after effects for some of the stuff we do. we are constantly bridging the gap between 2D (flash) and 3D (studio max). it just happens that we use final cut pro as our editing software. there's also talk of using maya to do some of our effects one day too. thanks for the link. i'll definitely check out your stuff soon.
keep digging it!
steve - Sleepsure, on 06/30/2008, -0/+0Good if your just starting out in Animation
www.sleepsure.co.uk - boomerxl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Oh Boo Hoo! So this is a dupe. Selling your story DOES make a difference, this has the best title, get over it.
- alinardo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0What's your show look like ***** face?
- gamerage, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5This story has 3 digg entries so far. The one with the most comments is here: http://digg.com/television/Creaters_of_TV_s_Odd_Job_Jack_release_master_files_of_ALL_show_content
