Wow. Ummm ... I rarely read anything for that long. I read that all the way through. Amazing ... a lot of really really really good explanations for some really weird stuff that happens on the show. Awesome theories. A++++++++
I don't buy it. I've read worse/better and I think it's a good theory. I just don't think that's the answer though.
Also, if you read through the Q&A section, the guy who wrote this just seems to be giving vague and elusive reasons to support his theory. He also makes a lot of assumptions with no real evidence to support them. He says that people are taking the podcasts toos seriously, yet he pretty much quotes the producers on his brief "evidence page"
But I'm not going to run my mouth without putting forward at least 1 reason why I think his theory is good, but wrong. He claims that the island exists in 1996, and the time off the island is 2004, so how can Daniel (on the island) communicate with Desmond (on the freighter) who is in 2004?
Bottom line, Time looping is interesting, and we know time travel (or should i say Mind Travel?) is a part of the storyline. But his theory is already complicated enough, before he convulutes it with his vague, baseless, far fetched assumptions to try and make his theory cohesive.
if this is not it (and it seems outlandish, then again the show does jump shark), Lost creators will certainly 'borrow' from it. I don't see how they could possibly run this show for 2 more seasons - seems like they got greedy, because there's only so much ""x has been taken hostage and we have to get them back" episodes I can stand before I quit this horrible yet addictive show.
The whole time travel thing is and could be very awesome, but I'm still most interested in the mythology of the island. I want to know about the smoke monster most of all. Saying it's a "course correction" manifestation isn't good enough. I want to know what the hell it is, and they better explain it, or I'm going back to 1996 and kicking some ass.
I love this show (as evidenced by my icon, yes I made those), and although this is a great theory, I immediately refuse to believe any theories because I couldn't watch it anymore if I felt like I knew what was going on. I see them as a sort of fan fiction and try to draw my own conclusions.
That being said, this is detailed enough to sound legit. I'm naive, though, and I always expect the actual explanation to be more complex. I know, it's stupid of me to think ABC would actually air something more complex than this for six seasons. Anyone remember Twin Peaks?
I see a problem with this theory. Locke was paralyzed when the plane crashed and Charlie was still alive so in order for Charlie to die that means they would have had to pass the time at which he got onto the plane for the universe to correct itself which means Locke would have had to become paralyzed again before Charlie died and that obviously didn't happen.
Lost doesn't have anything behind it, they just write whatever they want into each new episode as they go along, and then to end it all they'll explain it with something ambiguous instead of answering all the thousands of plot threads.
Here's a more likely theory: This show is a waste of time created by a notorious hack ripoff who got into showbiz b/c of daddy. At the inevitable ending of this show you will be supremely disappointed that there is no elaborate plot beneath the random dumb *****, its just the work of lazy writers keeping dopes hanging on with so called "clues".
Wow this is the stupidest ***** I have ever seen. Parallel Universes? Travelling back in time?
oh man the writers of lost must be laughing at losers like that all the way to the bank, I mean holy ***** you think they actually have some giant underlying plot like the one outlined here? No they just put stupid ***** in it and don't explain it because it makes it "deep and mysterious" and then they let over zealous fans like this one do all the actual work.
I really can't give any credence to a Lost theory that doesn't have some basic facts down. Among other things this site has Ben being born about a decade late and misquotes Ben on his birthday comment to Richard. Overall this theory is way too convoluted even for Lost, and I would bet that it isn't even close.
