All McGyver Ever Needs … (Picture)
neatorama.com — This is HILARIOUS. Pure marketing, and profit potential genius. I wonder if this toy actually sold.

- seanthebond, on 10/12/2007, -3/+128Normally I would call that lame... But the packaging actually makes me considering buying one. Damn you power of marketing.

- Shurato, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Wow! the link posted by jackpot really gave me a great laugh this morning... thanks!
- Koray, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9Good luck buying one. The first commet has a link to the original package, with a figurine. This is a shop.
- Suits, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9What's with the bicycle exploding off John Hodgmans' back, in the background?

Funny, but am I the only who avoids TinyURL like the plague? - Gryffydd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+83@violentvinyl
That's because it should be called TinyTubgURL. - sfackler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21@Gryffydd
If you go to tinyurl.com, you can set it to take you to an intermediate page that shows the url you are going to before you actually go there. - runeasgar, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3"MacGyver, the only tool you'll ever need."
Kinda speaks for itself, doesn't it? - SEN5241, on 10/12/2007, -32/+1Funny pic. Too bad it is plagarized to cover for blogspam. |=<
Dugg down as spam - bamiller3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17@SEN5241
I am getting so sick of hearing people complain about blog spam. Sure, if it is something like an embedded YouTube video, it should link directly to the source on YouTube. But in a case like this, if the poster has the picture and posts it on his blog, why shouldn't he get traffic to his blog? And how is this plagiarism? Because it is a picture of something that he didn't create himself?!?!?! I guess 90% of all pics posted to digg constitute plagiarism.
Hilarious......dugg. - SEN5241, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Wow, excuse me for complaining about blogspam. It's a shame the site looks a bit like a parked domain page. Just call me jaded after seeing dozens of parked domain sites after mispelling my intended URL. Maybe I should take a typing course.
If the guy would have posted the source the picture, I would have been cool with it. However, given the quote "Does anyone know who made this originally?", it looked like someone taking a random image just to shill their own site. I can understand if he pulled this out of his image archive (I have tons of images I don't know where they came from). It just looked fishy to me.
If blogspam is something you guys live for, then digg me down as you will. - thegenome, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2what it does remind be of is: http://thegenome.googlepages.com/3625-one.jpg

- chrismcelligott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+150If only I bought one, I could trade it for a house.
- baxtermaddux, on 10/12/2007, -39/+7when i was a little boy, my brothers convinced me that MacGyver could build a nuclear submarine out of a paper clip, 3 blades of grass, and some gum. true story
- plhearn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15MacGvyer is a pimp. He gets a different woman in every episode
- plhearn, on 10/12/2007, -27/+1I'm MacGyver. I can assemble an atomic bomb out of a razor blade and some toilet paper.
- eshiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6but it's not red...
- subtle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12plhearn: "I'm MacGyver. I can assemble an atomic bomb out of a razor blade and some toilet paper."
That sounds like a dirty bomb to me.
- Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+42That theme song has been playing in my head for the past 20 years.. make. it. stop.
- naio21, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Is that Rush's "Tom Sawyer"?
- ScottPictures, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9deh deh dehhhh deh deh dehhhh
- nazsco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1bambi, i think only here in Brazil they used that for the theme.
- naio21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Say, gamba safado (or something), which was the original soundtrack then?
- Shenaniganz08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27where's the piece of gum ?
- nyadney, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5i would get one of those and get it framed
- fromkyletomars, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I got one, and on the back of the box it says to add one avocado to the paper clip, and you can have yourself a high powered explosive.
- jet3004, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8More McGyver toys from the same company:
http://www.toyarchive.com/MacGyverBrazilFigureMOC1.html- bakagaigin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, I'm guessing the paperclip was photoshopped into that first one, look at how similar the two pant legs are. I'd still buy it though!
- jlebrech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3As usual for all toys: If you take it out of its box it'll lose it's value.
Unless you are in a life an death situation and need a lock picking. (Like a lock for a door inside a leaking submarine) - Felion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Looks like it's a fake: http://www.toyarchive.com/MacGyverBrazilFigureMOC1.html . Still ace though!
edit: argh, jet beat me to the link- PPoff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Darn, I am seriously so dissapointed this is a fake. I would have paid a good $30-$40 for this one, just for the 'conversation piece' value.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It couldn't be too hard to make one of these yourself... All you need is photoshop, a good color printer, a piece of cardboard, a little plastic bubble...
Oh, and a paperclip.
- icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3STILL needs a roll of duct tape...
- ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and a rubber band
- baxtermaddux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4anyone remember the three items Guyver kept in the trunk of his car?
duct tape
a bible
and a basketball
- TheRyanSinger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is all i use to survive, i also built my computer with that little baby. got to love the trusty paper clip.
- vett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Today is his birthday! Happy birthday McGyver, I hope you make front page.
- Joe_rigby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd never seen that before, got stares for laughing.
- Runee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've never thought that anybody can make toys from McGyver's films!
- dlown77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8MacGruber!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGr9aedSTBw - levitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Great toy, but get the name right! He's a *Mac*, not a *Mc*
- cuoops, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Yeah, this is like the second or third one on the front page that has been spelled wrong....jeez
- daeggman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, really... MacGuyver, McGyver... didn't these people ever actually WATCH the show???
- cuoops, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Yeah, this is like the second or third one on the front page that has been spelled wrong....jeez
- crypulse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Clippy love.
- drewhenson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how do I buy one?
- gonephishin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=429266
$.29 for 100. Hmm, if I can turn those around for 9.99 a piece as a MacGyver tool, that's a tidy little profit.
- gonephishin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=429266
- RationalAntaxia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome, I saw this on Gizmodo yesterday....
Give me 100 of 'em. I'm not quite as good as McGyver - naio21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The only tool I would ever need is McGyver's zat'n'ktel:
http://www.stargate-centrale.de/Bilder/1024_3735343033306434.jpg
Ooooops! Wrong show! :-P- flanagonzales, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0That would have been a good use for tinyurl.
- CrankyPants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think this was an SA Photoshop originally.
- bightchee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is funny but to be honest I carry three paperclips in my wallet. I've used the paperclips for things like picking simple locks on desk drawers or replacing the pull-tab on my jacket's zipper.
- FullMetalMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1YAY for RDA!!!!!
I Want one right now! - AMSRay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I know everyone wants a video to go with this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5340902491202374013
It even includes the paperclip.- mattymayhem, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I know everyone no longer wanted the video after they saw the link wasn't to youtube
- AMSRay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YkSsLyWQYE Happy now?
- mattymayhem, on 10/12/2007, -13/+8This reminds me of Vista.
You buy it because it looks cool....but the novelty wears off pretty quickly >=)- thorn101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Dugg you down for saying "buy" Vista.
- TechnoGuyRob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I think you meant to say:
What is the difference between this product and Vista?
There is actually someone who found this to work well for its purpose.
- interpaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Richard Dean Anderson is one cool mofo.
- M1THR4ND1R, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1This is old..
- MaXPL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no joke, i'd buy that thing for 20 bucks if it was on sale right now.
- harmonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5stargate = space macgyver
"we have to defeat the ori, and all I have is this computer merlin left behind and 3 naquedah reactors" - 4DFX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Was anyone else expecting a swiss army knife?
- bakagaigin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was guessing it was going to be a swiss army knife with a paper clip on it.
- omgitscal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Is McGyver the new Chuck Norris, or is one more powerful than the other?
- bakagaigin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.metacafe.com/watch/43236/bruce_lee_fight_with_chuck_norris/
See that, HE DIED! In th 70's!!! - Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Depends. Does Mac have his knife? If so it's game over for Chuck. And I doubt that ol' Chucky's roundhouse could take out a colony of army ants like Mac did using household items.
- bakagaigin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.metacafe.com/watch/43236/bruce_lee_fight_with_chuck_norris/
- InfinitySnatch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4McGyver can get his girlfriend out of trouble with only a wire hanger.
- dmoney22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2haha, abortion im guessing?
- dchaosdx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1kinda funny how the comment under the toy says "Does anyone know who made this originally?". and yet it's hard to miss the huge "Glasslite" logo on the packaging.
- ajck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MacGyver is the white man's BA Baracus (A-Team). Those were the good old days - when you could stumble into an old lock-up or abandoned mine, and there was corrugated iron (somehow capable of deflecting machine gun bullets), some sort of vehicle with wheels and the all-important acetylene torch (never leave home without it!).
- Mysticode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've met Richard Dean Anderson a few years back, and with how much he has aged, he certainly needs more than a paper click.
- daveman312, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0MacGyver's the man...
http://youtube.com/results?search_query=macgyver+rubber+band&search=Search
http://youtube.com/results?search_query=macgyver+rubber+band&search=Search - daxsymbiont, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2***** that side. i needed one today to reset a router (from that 'reset hole' they have).
- iPodPartsPlus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1This is a dupe and old as dirt. Also photoshopped.
- Complexium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2>> Does anyone know who made this originally?
The paperclip is a Norwegian invention. - Ramble, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Richard Dean Anderson is mearly a fly on the windscreen of Scott Bakula's car.
- excellent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want one !
- craigchrist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's MacGruber! http://gorillamask.net/macgruber.shtml
- Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@craigchrist
Thanks for that link, I had never seen that.
"Hand me that bucket of bum sperm!" Bwahahahahahhahaha!
- Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@craigchrist
- darkside23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn i want one. do i have to buy the duct tape and Swiss army knife separate?
- nazsco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if you need all that, you're not worthy
- XJRodzx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha that's something i would buy cuz I'm so damn gullible..HAHAHA!!
- RTourn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would love to for them to bring back the show. I doubt it can happen today's rampant paranoia. It is very sad that the idea of educating people about chemistry and science makes the networks so nervous that they don't.
- Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No doubt. I credit that show to turning me into the tinkerer I am today. Come to think of it, it was a great show from all angles for kids to watch (minus the MacMullet - which I must say is a little over-dramatized on the packaging)
- Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man I would so buy about a dozen of those to give out as gag gifts.
MacGuyver > anything ever - jlyoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2MacGuyver would not only use the paper clip, he would also use the packaging to save the day.
- stickyhoney, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Never underestimate how useful a paperclip actually is. I mean the Macguyver Tool.
StickeyHoney | http://www.toysau.com.au/ - CardWarrior, on 11/03/2007, -0/+0This is so funny...
