    I'm not saying hes dumb or anything, hes a bright person and has made lots of good choices, but lets not expect him to be a super genius like Tom over at myspace... of course.

Hes a less humorous Data from Star Trek. I kept expecting him to pause after her questions, tilt his head and say "computing...computing...". I'll give him all the credit for creating(stealing? TBD) the idea of Facebook. But if he really had any business brains he would turn over the PR to someone who loves interacting with other humans and not lines of code. The company has been valued very high, but it could go through the roof, just not with him as its spokesman. Also, 240 from bill gates is like your dad handing you 5 bucks to start a lemon aid stand. Come to think of it, thats actually high. Probably more like 50 cents.

Zuckerberg is also probably one of the most awkward people to interview, like a computer geek that made too many friends too fast to become more sociable in time. Smart guy though, gotta love Facebook. The apps are beginning to make it too much like myspace, I feel like sooner or later it'll spin out of control.

    1) He started the web app w/data (pictures) stolen from servers at Harvard's student services.
    2) At least 2 of the people he started the app with at Harvard are now suing him. His take on this? "We, uh, have lawyers..."
    3) He lists himself as Harvard alumni. He dropped out. Asked about this, he replies, "The web site doesn't have a 'dropout' entry", yet at earlier points in the interview it's been made clear that he's been involved in the coding of the site from inception to current. Hmmm...
    4) The response to the Google comparison was disappointing... Mark's new #1 on to-do list: 1) Learn about that humility thingy.

  • there, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1 Google looks like a fabulous place to work too but come on dude... the guy dresses casual, maintains a playful environment to work in, sits alongside his employees, and still manages to make some time to code during the day.

    I worked five years behind an IBM cubical working for mostly technically illiterate aparachnik managers that wasted a fair chunk of their time (and mine) making sure employees were authorized to order late night sev1 pizzas

    Of course a short interview isn't enough to judge a man's character but given what was presented I think you are way off base with your assessment. He seems great.
