(comcast has been giving me free cable since I canceled them a year ago and yet I still get a perfect signal).

The computer hacking left me laughing, but went over the top when they were tracking the bomb with a GPS through the subways! I can't even get my GPS to work without a clear view of the sky (and I have used military grade GPS systems in my 10 yrs in the military) let alone underground. Half the show is *****. Sure it is suspenseful and an interesting idea, but it is the same every year!
I also have a serious problem with the way they treat torture, i.e., it is OK to torture people if it will save lives. First of all, it is never that black and white, in the real world, they are seldom positive that the person they have is the right one or has the right information, so you could easily be torturing an innocent person, or being given false information to make the torture stop. I personally blame shows like this for the state of the US now where torture and unlawful detainment is considered OK.

I remember reading that they shot a scene where Jack is seen exiting a restroom wearing pajamas and eating a sandwich. - PaulLev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The only thing better than watching 24 on tv, TiVo, etc is waiting until the DVD is out, so I can watch the whole series in a few incredible days. I saw the first three seasons that way, and the experience was extraordinary. I'm tempted to wait for the DVD for this season, and .... nah, no way I'll be able to resist watching it in realtime next week.

It was supposed to start this January, like they've done for the past 2 years, but then they premiered Dirt. ***** man, what DID happen to good TV?
From September to December I watched nip/tuck season 4. Awful. Sure, better than season 3, but considering what season 3 was, it's not that big of a feat.

It's quite sad if you can't look past that fact and it ruins your experience. Sure, it's hard not to chuckle when they can miraculously turn a crappy security cam image into something from the Gigapixel project, but it's all fiction – you have to be able to put that aside for the entertainment value.

It may be difficult but definatly possible. I've gone 24+ hours regularly without taking a leak. Being on call for 30 hours as a resident will do that. - dandonia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Your comment was almost intelligent until you started typing. Explain how that is not good TV. Millions of people will tell you, that scene is one of the best from the show and just one of the reason season 5 was so good. The whole point of the show is that extreme circumstances calls for extreme measures. Watch the first hour of day 4 and you can see why. Before this gets too serious lets just remember its a TV show. One that puts an extreme touch on what soon could happen in the world but still just a tv show.

And sure, the first few hours were exciting, but it became boring once the writers once again made it up as they went along. With the exception of maybe Grey's Anatomy, I don't think there's a more overrated show on television.
