Zaadz: Social Networking to Change the World
cthings.crispynews.com — Social networking is all the rage these days, with sites like Digg and MySpace on the tip of everyone's tongue, it seems. For internet users who hunger for a more community-oriented, group-hug-type experience, we're happy to point a finger at Zaadz. -Eco-Chick

- dicalva, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2From the first day i joined Zaadz, I never felt alone again. The community is absolutely wonderful, loads of different interests and people but all fighting for the same objective: Change the world!
Diana- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3What the ***** is this *****? Get off my lawn you filthy hippies.
- rogercarr, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I have enjoyed being a member of Zaadz. It is great networking with people with a variety of backgrounds and beliefs but all striving to change the world for the better.
- babajeff, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Extraordinary inspired community populated by people truly looking to support each other to manifest their genius, and to make a positive contribution to the unfolding collective process. I've met some incredible people with specific skills that have been immeasureably helpful.
Jeff - Idysseus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I have been a member of one famed online community – the WELL -- since 1990 or so, and I have created my own online community -- Enlightenment.Com -- long before it was chic to do so. However, I have never been as quickly and powerfully drawn into a group of previously total strangers as I have with the folks at Zaadz. There is a tremendous amount of intelligence and spirit here. For those who are tunred into spirituality and transformation in a certain way, Zaadz has got to be about the grooviest website possible, and it is still just in Beta...
- TheUberman, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I am often speechless when faced with the sheer beauty and brilliance of the members of Zaadz.com. The world has been waiting for this. The world is blessed to have it.
- MyLinkedinPower, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Zaadz is currently the healthiest online community I know of. By that I mean that the members' sense of community, the management's sense of marketing, management, and promotioin are rapidly coalescing into an environment which I know can change the world in a very positive and powerful way. Kudos to Brian Johnson and the Zaadz team for parenting such a healthy online community.

And I can't help but get a spammy vibe from the comments above.- actionscripted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4After visiting the site I have one question: WTF?
- r2d7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Only a vibe? I thought it was more obvious ...

Those Seeds are Spreading...
- mmeaghan, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Don't worry folks, it's not for the cynical & resigned. I've found it truly refreshing to be immersed in an online, global conversation of creating what's possible rather than killing it off.
- xoxuxox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Digg creates the impossible. Digg doesn't kill. Just plays with it a little. Sure there's some blood spilled but all in good fun!
- abc4all, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Change the world? Then how about becoming a Dual Global Citizen (DGC)? This has nothing to do with where you are geographically in the world. http://digg.com/users/abc4all/dugg
- createjoycoach, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I say if it works for you, be a part of it. If it doesn't, find something else. But don't waste your precious energy on what's not working and analyzing why. Put it to better use - the world needs it right now.
- createjoycoach, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I give Zaadz a thumbs up - don't know why my comments are registering as a digg.
- ignorantleafy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I'm here because of the zaadz link, what can I say? But, hell, I needed an excuse to get into Digg anyway, so you win! YOU WIN YOU BASTARDS. We will be assimilated.
Zaadz is, currently, worrisomely New Age-hippie-airy-fairy. However, it is also currently under 10,000 members, or was when I checked yesterday. And, so far, my experience has been that members really are genuinely interested in the core goals of helping each other and changing the world. Those two things make this an excellent opportunity. I've been using my invites to ask all my NON-airy-fairy (but smart and passionate) friends to the table. That's why I added my vote to Digg, because I know that is, (at least partly), what I'll find here. If we can get this community to stay passionate and commited to its goals while creating a diverse demographic to draw from, not too-terribly mired in self-seriousness, I think the damn thing might just work. If not, I guess people like me will leave in droves.
If nothing else, it feels good to hit something when its young enough to still respond to your influence. Er... that sounded terrible.
Oh, whatever. - dreeandrea, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Even if you would call Zaadz 'New Age hippie airy fairy' I have never seen so many 'down to earth let's not just preach but practice folks' together in one place. Browsing around I think - I see - Zaadzsters really get on with things. So how 'airy fairy' is that??
Zaadzsters make things happen - for themselves and for the world! Hats off to Brian and his team for creating a place where we can find each other, hook up and get on with it. Thanks guys, for taking care of the seeds and the weeds of life in such a mindful manner and making us feel at home.- ignorantleafy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Have you taken a look at the top Pods? The number one pod, "How Good Can It Get" has an icon that looks like it's straight out of the Motherpeace tarot deck, (the mere fact that I know this should attest to my own vague sympathies for airy-fairiness), and the tenth top pod is called "Divinations." Even from an average perspective, it has all the ear-marks of the Air and the Fair. From a Digg demographic, hyper-skeptical perspective, it's almost painful.
BUT, as I said, if people want to help shape Zaadz in a more practical direction, for themselves or for the community, I think now's the perfect time to jump on board and give it a shot. You're right. Zaadzsters CAN make things happen. I hope they really do.

- sl9sl9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Reported as spam, due to the suspiciously spam-like "comments".
- r2d7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4At least they had the smarts to register the accounts in advance over the space of a month!
- alainb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wow. Spam? How is it spam when all these comments are coming from unique members who are simply espousing their interest.
Its what digg is all about morons! Digg isn't *yours*, it's everyone who is participating. - alainb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0And r2d7, you only registered your account five months ago. What makes you so special?

I've been here for less than a month & have am already experiencing the extra Energy boost from being a part of an active community... Zaadz. It's been amazing to say the least. Energy sort of expand & grow as it is being exchanged... ...
The kind of inspirations I'm receiving as a result of the conversations beyond the pod (http://pods.zaadz.com/what_the_bleep_do_we_know/discussions/) is yet another prove of synchronicity and abundance.
3 pods that I have been revisiting & benefited from are Divinations, The Beloved's Teahouse & How Good Can it Get?
I used to value self-reliance over interdependence... but recent experience in my business as well as with Zaadz have proved that more possibilities exist with interdependence.
It is by anchoring with the Environment, engaging in interdependent relationships of Mutual Support, that the Spider's web has the Strength to Support more than the Spider's own weight.
The Zaadz community has the Aspiration to change the world & also the Inspiration to do it. It is comforting to know that we are not alone… & it is a Source of Strength to know that we are all connected in a Web of Mutual Support. We can do this bySharing the Unique Gifts & Talents within each of us, & we are already doing so NOW ;-)
The Web of Life is made of Webs of Relationships, weaved though the Sharing & Service of our best Self, our Genius.
Like the strings of webs that come from within the Spider & is a part of the Spider's core Essence, each of us have Unique Gifts & Talents to Share.
Support is built by the hardwork of the Spider, Extending & Expressing its Essence with Love, & Engaging the Universe with a Passion for Life. This Act of Love & Light is a Purposeful one. One that can only be achieved with Presence in each moment & a deep sense of Possibilities.
"The humblest individual exerts some influence, either for good or evil, upon others." ~ Henry Ward Beecher
In what ways are you influencing the poeple you come into contact with today?
Be inspired to find your Personal Path Beyond Possibilities!

http://clarityquest.zaadz.com/ - harticulate, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Zaadz already has quite the collection of members from several backgrounds, cultures, countries, religions & beliefs. With the rise of members every day I am looking forward to more and more groups being represented. It is very hopeful to me to watch all of us interacting ........forgetting our differences .....and coming together for a just cause. We all care about the same thing.........the state of the planet and its inhabitants. Zaadz has provided us a place to realize a dream of world unity.
As I came to realize through the intelligent people at Zaadz is that Capitalism is not all bad............money in the right hands can do wonders to end some of the suffering and preserve our earth as well. Money is not the root of all evil.................money in uncaring men's/women's hands has given it a bad wrap.
As members we are the real deal and can make things happen in our own lil corner of the world. Zaadz helps me to do this individually by the daily inspiration I receive from many of its members.
Zaadz is what you make.................Be the change you want to see!
Namaste
Heidi - LaurieB, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I've joined other sites before that have promoted themselves as communities of like-minded people who are interested in evolving. However, Zaadz is the only community that I have found where people are not only choosing personal growth, but genuinely want to create a positive impact upon this world that we call home! I am constantly amazed as I read Zaadz members' Profiles as to how many incredibly tuned in people there are in this world (and they're right here at Zaadz!). They are well educated, creative, spiritual, compassionate, fun and fully committed to Zaadz' mission (and one has become their own):
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE!
Namaste,
Laurie B.- anon1001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Namaste"
Isn't that what they say on "Lost" all the time.
- anon1001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Namaste"
- Paktu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I suspect that the "spammy vibe" we're all noticing is because this IS a social networking site, and likely word has spread on there that there is a story about them on digg. Now, with that out of the way, I cannot for the life of me understand how this is any different from Myspace.
- alainb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Its different from Myspace because it doesn't have blatant date ads everywhere, sexual predators roaming around, malware installing on your machine, and the *omg* hot topic of the day is the "720 dunk".
On zaadz they talk about iran, globalization, post-modernism, and actually attempt on some decent dialogue.

- MattLat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Zaadz - your daily dose of creepiness
- r2d7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If one more freak posts this pansy e-love crap I'm going to vomit.
- wcswingdancer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Patku -
If you come over and really give us a look, you will see that we are very different from MySpace...we are about positive change - the thing that impresses me every time I read my favorite pods, or my friends' blogs, is that there are no feelings of the "Jerry Springerish" mudslinging anywhere that you get on many sites. Everyone respects each other's opinions and lifestyles. Yep, there are those that are into Majik, but there are also many who are life coaches and therapists, and people like me who just want to talk to people who want to make the world a better place.
Peace - cristinleigh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I'm here because of Zaadz as well and rather amused how "being the change" is pushing so many buttons around here! I encourage you to look within yourselves and see what is making you so angry about a community dedicated to evolving and empowering themselves and the planet. It's a great opportunity for growth if you recognize it.
- r2d7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I encourage you to look within my pants and suck.
- alainb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Zaadz is a place where decent, optimistic, uncynical folks can actually talk about serious issues whether it be philosophical, political, or whatever.
And to dispel any myths that it is solely populated by treehugging hippies: a big ***** you to r2d7 for being such a douche. Please go back to watching starwars, and leave the internet for people who will actually use it for something good.
He is the exact reason why Zaadz is made. So you don't have to deal with idiots like that. - alainb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0oops
- sheepacow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These "encouraging" -spam- posts are really creeping me out... I don't even want to click on the link... I'm afraid...
- PeaceWarrior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0MySpace...average physical age: 12, average mental age: 6
Zaadz...average physical age: 30, average mental age: 100
Yeah, if you are tired of the baby blogs, step up to something that will challenge your mind, body and spirit. Or you can just spend all of your time choosing which music clip, personality survey, animated icons, or kiddie game to plaster across your blog.
Zaadz...a higher level of blog intelligence. - Enkido, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hell, yes. Digg has been spammed from a plan hatched by one of the Zaadz paid goons. See my article "Is Zaadz a Den of Rattlesnakes?" http://zenunbound.com/2006/05/is-zaadz-den-of-rattlesnakes.html
- ignorantleafy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Enkido, thanks for posting this link. Honestly, I thought some of your reaction was a bit hysterical, but that's completely understandable. I took the opportunity to do some research on Zaadz and, you're right, it's more than just obnoxiously lightweight, it's downright culty. I was willing to give it a chance while I thought it was just a problem of lopsided membership, but seeing as the cultiness appears to spring right from the management, I doubt it's going to change.
I don't want to be involved in this. I regret asking my friends to join. Back to the real world.
